Re: League of Wales seasons (1992-2002)

[edit]

I was not suggesting that the articles on those seasons be deleted, only that the navbox template that User:Onshore created for them. The reason for this is that I thought that both sets of seasons should be included in the navbox template for the Welsh Premier League seasons. – PeeJay 19:11, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, in what way is the navbox in the Welsh Premier League article broken? They all seem fine to me. – PeeJay 19:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers man, and thank you for your courtesy. Not often that one meets a Wikipedian as polite as you. – PeeJay 19:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welsh Cup

[edit]

As promised I would give you feed back on what I thought of the Welsh Premier League and Welsh Cup pages here on Wikipedia and I really like what you have done.

I did notice that the Welsh Cup Final 2008-09 shows TBA. I presume the final has been scheduled for Sunday May 3, 2009 as the Welsh Premier League finishes on April 25, 2009 and it is usually a week after the Welsh Premier League has finished.

Sunday May 3, 2009 is the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend, which the 2007-08 Welsh Cup Final was also on the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend of Sunday May 4, 2008.

But yeah keep up the good work and I like the Cymru Alliance update :-) Onshore —Preceding undated comment was added at 11:59, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gwent County League Division Three requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File source problem with File:Ruabon Druids FC 1879-80.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ruabon Druids FC 1879-80.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:16, 28 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 13:16, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you created most of the content of the Druids article. You mention the death of David Thomson in 1878 and go on to say "Druids lost the use of the Plasmadoc Ground". Does "The History of the Welsh Cup" 1877-1993 by Ian Garland give any indication of why the death of Thomson should result in the club losing their ground? Cheers. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Welsh Premier League, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of List of Wales international footballers (alphabetical), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: List of Wales international footballers. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Acton Park

[edit]

I saw Acton Park listed as a host ground for two matches on the Wales national football team results 1872–1899 page but the only source I can find for the first match is the rsssf.com website. However, the host ground is listed as the Racecourse Ground on every other source I can find and the Racecourse is recognised as the oldest international ground in the world because it hosted the first match([1] [2]). Could I ask if the rsssf.com website is the only source you have for Acton Park or have I got it wrong and missed an original name for the Racecourse Ground or something along those lines? Thanks. There's also a query I have at Talk:List of host grounds of Wales home international football matches if you can help. Cheers. Kosack (talk) 12:47, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 10:02, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I've been doing some work on the List of Welsh Cup finals article in the hope of getting it up to FL standard in future. I noticed you edited the page in its early stages and was wondering if you could tell me what the blue background you added on some of the finals is for? Not sure if I'm missing something obvious but I can't seem to figure out what it signifies. Thanks. Kosack (talk) 20:18, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This month The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There is over £3000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. Wikimedia UK is putting up £250 specifically for editors who produce the most quality new women bios for British women, with special consideration given to missing notable biographies from the Oxford Dictionary of Biography and Welsh Dictionary of Biography. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate independently this is also fine, but please add any articles created to the bottom of the main contest page even if not competing. Your participation in the contest and contributing articles on British women from your area or wherever would we much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Wales results lists

[edit]

Hi there, I'm considering a little project of taking the Wales results lists, starting with Wales national football team results 1876–99, up to FL status. In order to do this, I'd be looking to convert the results into a wikitable format, similar to that used at the already featured Scotland national football team 1872–1914 results. Wikitables are considerably more inline with WP:ACCESS which is a big factor in the FL criteria. As the main article contributor, I thought I'd raise the issue here first rather than make wholesale changes that you may not appreciate. Do you have any objections to this? Cheers.
