Notability of subjects

Please stop creating very short articles on German military personnel until you have read the general notability guideines, the notability criteria for biographies and the guidelines for what makes soldiers notable. The majority of the articles you have created fail to meet these notability criteria and have been deleted. Nthep (talk) 13:28, 14 September 2014 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Erich Akt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I just noticed that you created various biography articles in draft space of Wikipedia. Properly sourced they should be moved to main article space. I also noticed that you created duplicates, such as draft:Hermann Scharnagel while at the same time an article Hermann Scharnagel exists. Are you sure this is the best way to expand the topic? Hi Madman If you are interewsted in writing articlesthat are not going to get deleted, then you might like to use resources available at Template:WPAVIATION creator and Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Chester V. Zalewski requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://valor.militarytimes.com/recipient.php?recipientid=27405. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Freeloading

There is a rule that articles in draft: space which have an {{AfC submission}} tag may be deleted if they have not been touched for more than six months. Unfortunately there is no rule for articles in that space without the tag but I think that the same rule should apply. Now you have a massive number of such articles. I have put in User:Mad7744/drafts a list of the 499 oldest of them.

Another view is that you could be considered to be using Wikipedia as a free host - 88.8% of your edits are in draft space.

I want to see a concerted move by you to either request the deletion of these drafts or improve them to article status and get them submitted for approval for mainspace. I note that they survived this recent discussion but If changes do not happen within the next few months, I shall propose a bulk deletion of your drafts. A tag has been placed on Draft:Sean LeBlanc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Hello Mad7744, I have nominated this old draft for deletion. That's simply for housekeeping, as the identical article is already "live" in mainspace Erich Akt. Keeping such old drafts is confusing, and might distort edit histories, when content is created by other editors and copy/pasted without attribution. Just a quick manual info, as the automatic notification didn't work for this nomination for some reason. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 07:32, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Willy Albrecht

The article Willy Albrecht has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subjects fails WP:SOLDIER per article text: "No evidence of the award can be found in the German Federal Archives. Albrecht's case was never processed by the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR). It is incomprehensible what evidence exists and who accepted him as a Knight's Cross recipient." The subject does not have a German wiki article. No significant coverage in RS can be found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
