Derry GAA

Hi, can you help me understand your reasoning why "Derry GAA Hurling" is better than "Derry Hurling" or whatever? From what I've seen so far, is it true that your objections mainly stem from the fear that without including "GAA", it leads readers to potentially incorrectly assume that the name of the county is "Derry", or would lead readers to refer to the county as "Derry" even outside the context of GAA? Or am I missing something? --HighKing (talk) 16:56, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Better venue is WT:GAA since many people are trying to fathom this. Brocach (talk) 02:19, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for expressing your preferences at the WT:GAA page - it's very helpful to have this calm and well-ordered discussion on what has previously been a very heated topic! There is a new proposal which has come in after your contribution, which you might also like to comment on. Many thanks! Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 08:07, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
I asked here so that there wouldn't be 10 other people diving into the discussion. --HighKing (talk) 17:05, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Your not far from it HighKing. I will post a full reasoning for my objections later at the discussion. Mabuska (talk) 11:23, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Peace?

I finally understand why you were so angry about this post of mine on WT:IE. When I posted it I was totally unaware of the edits that had preceded yours. Of course, one can say in hindsight that I should have done some research before making accusations, but at the time it did not occur to me that you were trying to undo or mitigate somebody else's actions. I thought you had simply decided to do it out of the blue. For that I am sorry. There is nothing to be gained by going through my various posts; I just want to say that though I got things wrong, I never deliberately lied, and I never did anything just to get at you. Is there any possibility that we could get back to the friendly adversarial relationship that we had before? Scolaire (talk) 10:30, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

This post of yours distorted the chronology of events and over-exaggerated the amount of edits involved. There was no need for that whether my actions were out of the blue or not. Also when have I ever went on an out of the blue edit crusade on such an issue?
Having said that, it takes a lot on Wikipedia for someone to apologise, and I accept it. Though "friendly adversarial relationship"? Is that not oxymoronic? ;-) Mabuska (talk) 12:31, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Unless I'm much mistaken, millions of lawyers around the world have that sort of relationship :-) Scolaire (talk) 18:37, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
