Speedy deletion nomination of TiNai

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on TiNai requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thodari, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Periyar Thidal moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Periyar Thidal, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jurassic Park (film), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please review WP:IPCV as well. DonIago (talk) 12:47, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Jurassic Park (film), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. As I noted above, per WP:IPCV, secondary sources are required when adding "in popular culture" material to articles. DonIago (talk) 15:41, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But I've added the relevant video links..... MS2P (talk) 15:45, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those are primary sources, not secondary sources. DonIago (talk) 15:53, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By secondary sources, do you mean write-ups referring to the film scenes? MS2P (talk) 05:07, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Something that discusses those references to JP, as a way of establishing that they're considered somehow significant (versus, say, the tons of other references to JP that exist in pop culture). DonIago (talk) 06:16, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity and scripts

[edit]

Please do not add the ethnicity (Tamil etc., see WP:ETHNICITY) and Indic scripts (see WP:INDICSCRIPTS) in the infobox and WP:LEAD of articles related to India. There is proscription against scripts and ethncities are generally not allowed. Thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 09:16, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The manual says that "Ethnicity,...should generally not be in the lead unless relevant to the subject's notability". Does that suggest that it can be mentioned for those people whose works are carried out with their ethnic group in focus (eg: literature and politics)? MS2P (talk) 11:29, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, generally only nationality (as to citizenship is listed). For e.g. if a person is writing in a specific language the format would be "[Person] is a [Country (e.g. Indian)] writer/author/poet etc. who writes in [language]" and similarly for other fields or cinema; ethnicity should not go in the [Country] param. And political ethnic markers are never listed, party/region suffices (say if a person is serving in a regional/state legislation mentioning that itself is sufficient). Gotitbro (talk) 12:36, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks MS2P (talk) 14:36, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also for birth/death infoboxes the place listings should be limited to 3 (city, first-lvl administrative division (e.g. state/province) and country), see {{Infobox person}}, i.e. districts etc. need not be listed. Gotitbro (talk) 10:19, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I use the "district" listing only when mentioning lesser-known villages/towns/cities. Would that be okay? MS2P (talk) 11:32, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If a village does not have an article pipe link it like [[District|Village]] and limit the listings to 3, if it does have an article then there is nothing further to be done and should again be limited to 3 listings. Gotitbro (talk) 12:36, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
