Information icon Hello, I'm Viewmont Viking. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --VVikingTalkEdits 19:57, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Your recent edits could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. Now I remember why, years ago, I stopped participating on this site.

I then continued to devote myself to commerce and the further development of my company, MARKETEX, since 1969, hence my TWO usernames on Wikipedia, also MARKETEX2020, the corporate name derived from my own, Maurice, and the given name of my daughter, Kemi, or MAuRice and KEmi Thomas EXpertise.

I am the sole coder and computer Programmer and designer responsible for the development of a little algorithm and corresponding matrix of calendric data entitled POWERCAL tm, [A Calendric solution and SAS application as an add-on to OSs with significant calendric shortcomings, which allows for retrieval of data assigned to any date within the range starting on January 1, 4713 b.c.e. and continuing to Infinity] and my daughter is an Epidemiologist, during COVID-19, so we are each too busy, her, with my six grandchildren, whose Attorney/Minister Father represented the successful litigant against the KKK, in the 90's, which resulted in the acquisition of the Klan's Real Estate, to contend with foolish persons, right now, or anytime.

I have the honor of having been the husband of the daughter,(my cherished wife, Ermetra,) and therefore the Son-In-Law of one of the most famous African American persons in the world, for the last 35 years, Professor Timuel Dixon Black, Jr., the subject of this wiki, whose post-war career began as employment with and by my father, Silas J Thomas, Sr., as a Supervisor of both Mr. Black and his brother, Walter, in 1945, the year of my birth, at the company my father had worked for since 1938, Metropolitan Burial Insurance Co, which later was forced by a Caucasian-owned insurance company to CHANGE its corporate identity to Chicago Metropolitan Mutual Assurance Company, so as to allow that New York based, similarly named Insurance Company to capture the market created by Black Insurance Companies after sales of Insurance policies to African Americans were prohibited by such companies, as early as 1896.

I and Professor Black and my wife are all published writers, and the kind of legal problems we solve are those pertinent to Civil Rights matters leading to Federal legislation, et al, as our collective knowledge and familiarity with real persons, not fake vikings, you see, is extremely accomplished.

Please restore the deleted FACTS which are known by my family to be CORRECT, or, in the alternative, refuse to do so. MARKETEX2020 (talk) 12:02, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You really need to read the section I wrote below for why the approach your taking is the wrong one.
Also, Wikipedia is not a billboard. Ian.thomson (talk) 12:21, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MARKETEX2020. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:MARKETEX2020. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=MARKETEX2020|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 10:50, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your false assumption avoids the fact that I would NEVER ask for and would refuse any payment for editing my FATHER-IN -LAW's wiki! MARKETEX2020 (talk) 12:07, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it's just that the name is kinda sus, tho.
Also, you should read our conflict-of-interest rules and stick to making edit requests on the talk page for our article about your father-in-law rather that directly editing it. Ian.thomson (talk) 12:15, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Helo MARKETEXT2020 I would like to know more about getting payed, Whether I can work for you, or get mentorship?--AbinadiDanvers (talk) 14:38, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your additions to Timuel Black

[edit]

You have a conflict of interest so should not be editing this article directly. You have also added unsourced dates for people, these are not required even with sourcing. Theroadislong (talk) 14:51, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Timuel Black. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. please stop adding your own name to this article it is not required Theroadislong (talk) 14:52, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I should be included in the relatives section, as I have been and continue to be an In-law for over 35 years, and a person with familiarity with the subject since my father was his boss at an insurance company and you have no right to either describe nor alter our family tree!! How dare you!

I am one of very few remaining relatives of the subject, in my 70's, while the subject is a centenarian, and as a relative with obscure information, which is sole sourced, therefore, and since there is no other person who could properly and accurately supply correct information, either wikipedia should strike this article entirely, or concede that the article as stet should be corrected, and accept accredited information, as you first accepted and welcomed and now are rejecting.

Apparently you have had your share of litigation, from frustrated individuals who may not understand the law's limitations or the Constitution.

You cannot, however, continue your good services, effectively, by publishing incorrect, and therefore potentially derogatory biographical information, when reliable information is offered. Tim's current book, Sacred Ground, contains a picture of my wife, but no picture of myself, since I eschew cameras, given my frequent professional executive security functions.

I only mention that because, when I served as the head of Security and Investigations for the Mayor of the City of Chicago, decades ago, facial anonymity was helpful, but now that I am 75, and still mandated as a reporter to Federal agencies while still a troubleshooter, I am simply offering friendly advice, not threatening anyone, besides which, honorable people need never fear hostility, unless, as some racists, the mention of racism brings out their own.

Why continue to do so?

If one persists in the derogation of African Americans and the cost of that derogation is not yet obvious to all, then you must not be paying close attention to current eventsMARKETEX2020 (talk) 16:18, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relatives are usually only included if they are notable ie. they have their own Wikipedia articles. This article belongs to Wikipedianot you, see WP:OWN. You say "you have no right to either describe nor alter our family tree!! How dare you!" This is most definitely NOT your family tree either! Reason why blocked

[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

Thank you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 18:16, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To be clear, the reason for the block is SOLELY because your chosen User name is that of your company. As described above, you can appeal the block by proposing a name change. David notMD (talk) 00:00, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
