Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, M.S.Vishnu Panchal, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Agra have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Again, welcome.

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Harrdy Sandhu.

  • There is even a specific note in the article, hard to miss, right where you entered that information, which says: "Must be attributed to a reliable published source with an established reputation for fact-checking. No blogs. No IMDb. No public records. See WP:BLPPRIVACY" Begoon 08:27, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Karnataka, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made, reduces edit conflicts, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "show preview" button is right next to the "publish changes" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Begoon 06:05, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Karnataka, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article.

  • When you add or update data or content, you must provide a reliable source. You replaced data sourced to a 2011 census with "new" data but did not update the source details or provide any indication of the source of this new data. Begoon 06:10, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Priya Anand. Content of this nature is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Using "preview"

[edit]

Hello. Up above I asked if you could please use the "preview" feature when editing, to avoid errors and cluttering up watchlists and histories. The note includes instructions for doing that, and a handy, explanatory diagram. Editors who watch pages often check every edit, and when you do what you just did at Karnataka, making 11 edits to add just 8 words it can frustrate them and increase both their workload and the number of times they are notified of page changes. It would be considerate of you, and appreciated if you could make more use of "preview" in future, to avoid this. Thank you. -- Begoon 15:33, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
