Your warning...

[edit]

Hi and, first of all, thanks for fighting vandalism! However, I just removed a warning issued by you, here, because the IP editor only edited Domenech's article to remove a vandal's edit, as you can see here.
Please, understand that this was meant as a personal attack! I hope I didn't offend you. Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 16:41, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've done the same at User talk:82.55.244.228 - the IP hasn't edited the page in question (in fact, they only seem to have posted at WP:AIV and my talk page, besides warning a vandal). TFOWR 15:07, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Many, many thanks for this edit - it was absolutely the right thing to do, and extremely courteous of you. TFOWR 15:09, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problems for mistake. It happens. PS: Really no problem, i was out of Wikipedia 10 min, so i've seen all 2 messages ;-) --82.55.244.228 (talk) 15:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer permission

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:22, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you warn me?

[edit]

I noticed that you warned me for edits I never made to the Group G article for the World Cup. If you check my contribution history [1], you'll notice that I never edited that article. The only edit on this IP prior to this one was to the Group A article (I reverted a vandal who had edited the page to refer to France as "Losers"). 206.251.1.6 (talk) 15:59, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, I will strike out the warning on your page. Sorry for the warning. M-R-Schumacher (talk) 16:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MoM

[edit]

Hey, i checked FIFA.com and they said Drogba/Ronaldo... Just check the Matchcast at the end of the game, no need to delete it! Kante4 (talk) 16:05, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

At the end of the game go to fifa.com, matchcast of the specific game and then it will pop up who is the man of the match. I watched Ivory Coast match, but i think because the votes comes from fans it´s not right all the time... Kante4 (talk) 16:12, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I wanted to vote for Dunga but couldn´t. ;-) If it changes feel free to edit it. Kante4 (talk) 16:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, was maybe the worst game this World Cup + a great Referee from what i´ve heard. Kante4 (talk) 16:32, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

European GP flag

[edit]

This issue has been extensively discussed in the past, most recently at Talk:2010_Formula_One_season/Archive_5#European GP. You seem to be fairly new to Wikipedia, which is why I reverted your good faith edit and did not state it was vandalism. Mjroots (talk) 16:56, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, we all make mistakes and it's all part of learning about Wiki (I'm still learning myself and they've gone and made me an admin!). Mjroots (talk) 17:13, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2010 FIFA World Cup knockout stage

[edit]

This edit seems to contradict the information contained in the official FIFA match report. I have reverted it. If you have a different source of information for your change, please provide it. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:14, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But the FIFA site is the reference for the match and it will over-ride any "expert" opinion. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:26, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

F1 driver articles

[edit]

Hi there, adding long race reports to driver articles makes the articles far too long. Each race has its own report anyway, and not every race deserves to be mentioned on the driver articles. Yes, some other drivers have a race-by-race breakdown of their careers, but we are trying to trim these right back to a sensible level. Also, please remember that we have to add sources for our edits, and please use the talk page if other editors start reverting you, and avoid edit wars. Thanks, Bretonbanquet (talk) 13:03, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are reverting very experienced editors at times - it might be prudent for you to take note of what they are saying, and avoid blindly reverting them. It's starting to look like edit war behaviour. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:12, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We don't need to mention every race - if nothing particularly important happens, then it is simply a waste of space. We particularly don't need a separate, one-sentence paragraph for each race in which nothing happened. Your revert at Sebastian Vettel was particularly unhelpful. If you think Webber's article needs that he is currently leading the championship - bear in mind that this is very clear indeed from the tables - then add it, without a blow-by-blow account of each race. I see you've now re-added all that pointless stuff to Webber's article. Be aware - you are edit-warring - please stop. If you want to improve Webber's article, take note of what people are saying and keep the article concise and uncluttered by non-notable information. How long exactly does that article have to be before you're finished? Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:18, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
When you reverted at Mark Webber, you also reintroduced a bunch of typos and formatting errors - please be more careful. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:20, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that unwise, as it has only just been protected - antagonising the admin isn't going to improve matters. Also note that some of these driver articles were protected partly because IPs keep adding badly-written race reports where they aren't necessary. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:31, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well look, since we're on the subject - I know all about the vandalism case as it was I who figured out who was doing it and got him indefinitely blocked. But the protection had the secondary, and extremely welcome, effect of avoiding the usual trash being added after races. So let's not make a special effort to add it now. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:47, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mark Webber. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Mjroots (talk) 16:20, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010

[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Lionel Messi, you may be blocked from editing. Favonian (talk) 14:38, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Start4.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:38, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Mass ferr ista 2010-22-470x313.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mass ferr ista 2010-22-470x313.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:40, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
