January 2012[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Christian IX of Denmark, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Skol fir (talk) 03:20, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List countries by millitary and correct speedy deletion criteria[edit]

Hi M'encarta! You tagged List countries by millitary for speedy deletion under the G6 criteria. However, G6 is for technical deletions, and no reason was given for why it was a technical deletion (which you should do for G6). I have changed it to the A10 criteria, as this was a duplicate of a pre-existing, established article at List of countries by military expenditures. Sorry. M'encarta (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on MS Norbank requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, image description page, image talk page, mediawiki page, mediawiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, or user talk page from the article space.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Possibly unfree File:Spirit of France Maiden Arrival in Dover.jpg[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Spirit of France Maiden Arrival in Dover.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Andrew (User:90) (talk) 21:07, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Spirit of France Maiden Arrival in Dover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

ISEET[edit]

I've declined your speedy as A7 doesn't fit. It's an exam rather than a group of people. I'd suggest PROD if you think it should be gone. I don't know if the other exams mentioned have articles or not, or how notable this is. It would require a tidy-up to fit in if it stayed. Peridon (talk) 18:15, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple minor edits to the same page[edit]

Hiya. I'm not sure if you know, but advisor.js does let you make multiple changes within a single edit. This would help prevent cluttering up my watchlist with dozens of nearly identical entries. → ROUX  20:31, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. From now on, I'll make multiple changes within a single edit, Roux. M'encarta (talk) 20:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Royalty cats[edit]

Hi, can I ask why you are adding the category Category:Royalty to large numbers of articles, practically in all cases its not justified. People like Alexander Hood, 4th Viscount Bridport are not royalty or have any particular connection to royalty. They are peers. Alexander III of Russia is royalty but he is already categorised in the subcats like Category:Orthodox monarchs and Category:Russian emperors. This seems to be WP:OVERCAT. Benea (talk) 14:50, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Therefore, I hereby declare my AWB task is cancelled. M'encarta (talk) 14:51, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Much obliged. I wonder if it would not be too much trouble if you could self revert? Benea (talk) 15:05, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually not a rollbacker. Are you? M'encarta (talk) 15:08, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am; but I don't want to sit here clicking 859 different "rollback" links (567 on articles, 290 on category pages - I've done the two in template space). Per WP:AWB it is your responsibility to ensure that your edits are good. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:52, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am as well, but you did make a number of other edits to articles while adding the category, some of which are presumably useful, which makes rollbacking (if there is such a word) suboptimal. Will you take this category removal on yourself? Benea (talk) 14:18, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sir. M'encarta (talk) 20:21, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You should see the positive aspect of this: if you now revert all these incorrect edits of yours, it will further enhance your edit count! After all, that is what really matters, isn't it? --Hegvald (talk) 14:19, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's getting on for a week and many hundreds of articles and categories are still incorrectly tagged with this category. User:M'encarta hasn't made any statement that he will revert these edits, and indeed hasn't edited for a while. Assuming good faith that M'encarta would do so if he was not busy offline, but should the community take further action in the meantime to remove them? Benea (talk) 14:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar recognition[edit]

Thanks It's not a contest, but it is nice to get some feedback from other users. I appreciate the thought. —Justin (koavf)TCM 04:42, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
