The Seedrs page was not a good example to follow, it was also written like an advert, I have edited it to remove the promotional tone, thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 15:10, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to work with you on getting the page up to scratch? Please could you point out the issues and which sections are advert like so I can amend and re-submit?LucaPeterson (talk) 15:14, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot amend and resubmit. You cannot write about your company on Wikipedia any more. If you would like to edit on other topics, please indicate what those are likely to be in your unblock request. However, if you are only here to write about GCV, you will not be unblocked. Yunshui  15:16, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What are the criteria needed to be able to write about a company on Wikipedia? LucaPeterson (talk) 15:21, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You can, of course, find the detailed answer to this question in the various Wikipedia pages where policy is delineated. But putting it simply, a company you want to write about should possess wikipedic notability, should not have an article already extant in the English Wikipedia, and should not be your own company. The article must not read in any way like an advertisement and must include good quality independently sourced third-party references. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:44, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, I have declared my conflict of interest with the company Growth Capital Ventures and happy for the content to be reviewed and amended accordingly. The page was to be set up for educational reasons only. I used the page for Seedrs as a template whilst actively trying to avoid advertising LucaPeterson (talk) 14:34, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I think progress has been made. Conditional unblock requirements- I would be willing to unblock given the following:

  • you confirm that this account is used by one individual only
  • you agree to avoid creating or directly editing Growth Capital Ventures
  • you agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy
  • you indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future
  • Any company you want to write about should possess wikipedic notability, should not have an article already extant in the English Wikipedia, and should not be your own company.
  • In any event, the article must not read in any way like an advertisement and must include good quality independently sourced third-party references.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favourable, but the goal of Wikipedia is to build a neutrally worded encyclopedia whose articles are about notable topics based on previously published writings. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 08:06, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
