You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for running unapproved bot scripts.
Under the bot policy, all automated scripts must be approved by the Bot Approvals Group to ensure that they perform safe and useful functions without stressing system resources.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  TonyBallioni (talk) 23:56, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • hi TonyBallioni; isn't this a slight overreaction for a bot which does 2 page edits per 2 to 3 weeks on average -- which at this point *can't* even do those edits due to falling into an IP range which was banned for other reasons?? Additionally, you could have simply asked to stop the activity and pointed me in the right directions before continuing. I would have. I'm perceiving your actions as counter productive while I'm finding out more about the your organisation and its requirements and are very much open to work with you on all your requirements. When this account was created, the person doing so assures me, he couldn't find any bot policies other than the requirement to use a clearly named account. I won't appeal your action. Instead, I'll go with what I think is the best way forward and file for a bot approval.
  • hi TonyBallioni; there actually *is* a reason to want the user account to be unblocked:
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I can't set up the account's User page to refer to the managing user's contact page as required per the bot policy.

Decline reason:

This does not address the reason for the block, which is that bots must be approved before use. I am declining this request. 331dot (talk) 16:34, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • hi 331dot. I'm trying to understand your decision. I need to set up a user page in order to be able to comply with the bot policy: in order to mention the bot maintainer/owner on that page. However, with the block in place, I'm unable create that page. How do you propose we get out of this dead-lock? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ehuelsmann (talkcontribs) 17:58, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merry Christmas morning TonyBallioni and 331dot! I'm supposing you didn't see the conversation with this user on my talk page where I suggested they should make an effort to comply with the bot policy, but this block does seem to be impeding their progress. @Ehuelsmann: we yet another policy that new accounts cannot edit other accounts' user pages because of ongoing vandalism problems, but there is a way around that and I have added an opt-out template to your bot account's user page. You should now be able to edit that page from your Ehuelsmann account, and proceed with your approval application. Don't remove the code I've added to the page or you won't be able to edit it again. If you have problems you can get my attention by pinging me ({{ping|Ivanvector}} works) or use {{admin help}} to get any admin's attention. Thanks.
