Hi, LordLoko. Can you please move the images to the [right] as it was originally on Charles Oliviera's page. Some of the images have been changed/repositioned. Hence, please revert it back to the original. Thanks 7leumas (talk) 14:25, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Giga Chikadze, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 06:40, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Helo LordLoko, You tube is not a reliable source. You can add back the info if you can find an [[WP:IS|independent], reliable source to support the info. Also "Chikadze started competing in Kickboxing, and in 2015 he joined GLORY, the world's largest kickboxing organization." was not sourced. Cassiopeia talk 06:44, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Cassiopeia: Hello. As for the GLORY source, it was unecessary since it's just showing what was after in the kickboxing records - which are incomplete as kickboxing records usually are - but whatever, a source was added. In regards to the Youtube source, I was based on this article which states: "YouTube and other video-sharing sites are generally not considered reliable sources because anyone can create or manipulate a video clip and upload without editorial oversight, just as with a self-published website. However, official channels of notable organizations, such as Monty Python's channel, may be acceptable as primary sources if their authenticity can be confirmed, or as a secondary source if they can be traced to a reliable publisher.". I don't know if you actually checked the source[1] but it's the official UFC channel doing an interview with him, thus, it's a primary source. LordLoko (talk) 14:50, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

References

If you add the information in then you are burden to prove the info is supported by source - see WP:BURDEN and WP:PROVEIT and thank you for adding the source. I do check source and I know UFC events and their fighters very well. UFC is a questionable sources, not like guardian newspaper for no fact checking is done on the organization and and Mr. White says whatever he wants and change at time as he see fit, the announced fights which the fighters not even sign the contract or know about, the are promotional private company and they do whatever the like. We do take some info from UFCstats website for certain simply info such as fighter reach or stand where we cant find them anywhere. You can also find info of Giga in many other mma website such as for he is a very well-known fighter, all you need to do he do some research. Cassiopeia talk 22:12, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: Ok, but why wouldn't a direct interview with the subject of the article be considered reliable?LordLoko (talk) 01:10, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi LordLoko, you can add direct quote and make sure it is in the quote form and use it sparingly - see Wikipedia:Quotations but pls do not use You tube as a source. We do use sparingly UFC website for certain fighter info but only when we could not could subject info on other MMA web sites - check MMA Junkie, MMA fighting, MMA Viking, Sherdog, Cageside Press, Low Kick MMA, UNO MMA, La Seur, Combat and many other MMA websites besides the newspapers. Cassiopeia talk 09:38, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox nicknames

[edit]

Hi LordLoko. In the MMA infobox, we use the nickname in the infobox source. This is the case across all pages. There is no reason not to include other nicknames elsewhere but we only use the one(s) sourced in Sherdog. Thanks for your contribution and all best. NEDOCHAN (talk) 00:03, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Royce Gracie

[edit]

Hi LordLoko. Thanks for your edits to Royce Gracie. Unfortunately, you have added far too much detail. You have also included contractions and not used surnames consistently, which is against the Manual of Style. I don't want to revert your good faith edits so I ask that you drastically reduce the detail, remove contractions and only use surnames. So Gracie not Royce and Shamrock not Ken. Happy to chat through.NEDOCHAN (talk) 14:40, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@NEDOCHAN: I will correct to the correct style, thanks for sending me the link, but I don't see "too much detail", Ken Shamrock's page has even more detail. I'm just trying to expand in some important key points.LordLoko (talk) 15:10, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. We don't usually have long fight descriptions but it's all down to discretion. Have a go at making it more concise and I'll take a look to see if I can help with the copy.NEDOCHAN (talk) 15:43, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@NEDOCHAN: Thanks for making Royce Gracie more concise, but I'm afraid you had removed some important context by doing so while making some other parts innacurate. So I have restored some parts. LordLoko (talk) 17:34, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have not removed anything important. there was far too much info that is not NOTABLE enough for an encyclopaedia. This conversation must now move to the article talk page. Thanks.NEDOCHAN (talk) 17:39, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The event was known as the 'Grand Prix finals'. As here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/2000_in_Pride_FC#Pride_FC:_Grand_Prix_2000_-_Finals It doesn't mean the final fight. Anyway this discussion needs to move to the talk page.NEDOCHAN (talk) 17:46, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Royce Gracie, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Patrick Smith. Hello LordLoko, I have seen that you are an active editor on Azov Regiment and was wondering if you were familiar with this regiment as well, I created an article for it recently and it could use expansion still. I have not found many other reliable sources on it in English, so if you know of any other language sources on the Kraken Regiment or know of images of logos etc it would be a big help. Thanks. Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to Azov Regiment, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Please take care when adding links, since you added the same links several times even in the same paragraph. Replaceable fair use File:Shooto match.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shooto match.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:58, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
