Interstate 215 (Nevada)
Do you have a source that says the western terminus is at I-15? The federal funds that were provided build the highway to Decatur. It was signed to there as I-215 until well after the CC-215 opened wast of Decatur. The signage was only changed to avoid confusion. That does not mean the road between I-15 and Decatur is not offically I-215. If there is a source to support that section not being I-215 I would love to see it. Vegaswikian 20:46, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
USRD Inactivity check and news report
Hello, Ljthefro. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:
- Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
- There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

2 Q's about Nevada Highways:
Ljthefro, Nice to see some help on Nevada Highway articles, for a while I was feeling pretty overwhelmed =-) Two questions: 1- I see you undid my edit about the cut-and-cover tunnel on I-80 under the Walgreen's in Reno. I have not been able to find an official source on if this is a tunnel or what. Most personal roadgeek sites do refer to it as a cut-and-cover tunnel. I swear when I last checked the inventory tag had a T prefix instead of a B, implying tunnel. What's your take on it?
- You are right. I've since confirmed the inventory tag is for a bridge, not a tunnel. It's not a tunnel despite what others have said. The cover now used as the foundation for Walgreens has been there for years, if not decades. However the building is only about 5 years old. Davemeistermoab (talk) 03:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
2-It's been on my get around to it list to merge several stub articles for Nevada Roads (i.e. do we really need 10 stub articles on streets in Carson City that have been given route numbers by NDOT?, why not 1 long article?) That would include merging NV650 and NV651 to a single article on McCarren Blvd. (Then having those articles re-direct). There is precedence for this, and the infobox road template does support multiple route shields for a single article. I've done that before. To me that is the right thing to do, what's your opinion of that? Davemeistermoab (talk) 17:58, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- For some precedence see Interstate 210 and State Route 210 (California), Interstate 110 and State Route 110 (California). These were all separate articles until recently.Davemeistermoab (talk) 03:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. Thanks for the compliment. I took a lot of photos for upgrades to NV articles. On my get around to it list. =-) Davemeistermoab (talk) 03:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
There is precedent for combining several short/somewhat related articles into a longer article also. For example, List of minor state routes in New York. There are others. IMO that is better than 10 articles all 1 paragraph in length.
- I just realized I never answered one of the questions you left on my talk page. I'm sorry. Most states (Nevada included) mark all bridges and tunnels with an inventory number. These are used for tracking federal inspections, funding, etc. In Nevada's case they are usually spray painted on the first pillar for under crossings and on the right side of the bridge deck for over crossings. If you are so inclined, you can jot down the inventory number of your favorite bridge, go to the Federal Highway Administration's website and see the last inspection report.Davemeistermoab (talk) 15:30, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
I-80 in NV
Why did you remove the exit 32 shade in light gray from the exit list. I thouhgt permanently close means close only for a long time. Doesn't mean it is close forever.--Freewayguy (Webmail) 21:07, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
If there is an error, why don't you fix it then? Not trying to be rude, but if you caught a mistake in an edit I made, by all means try to correct it... --Dbm11085 (talk) 04:58, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
NV State Route articles in Las Vegas
Those road are not know by the state route names. They are only know by the local designations. Yes, this is also true for all of these roads. In you look at Russell Road as one example, the state portion is .7 miles and yet this road is probably 15 miles are so long and is a major section line arterial. So while the state route designation may provide some notability it is but a fraction of the total road length. To try and label the entire road by the SR designation is misleading. I believe that just about every article reference to these roads, other then other SR articles is to the common name. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- Actually there are several roads with multiple links and more can be added. They were not liked before since they were redlinks. With the rename, the articles can be greatly expanded. I guess the question might be how do we get from the SR to the street name? Assuming the road is notable. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- So I guess the question is how to determine which articles go which way. When you know where to have the discussion, an announcement on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Las Vegas might get more interested parties. Vegaswikian (talk) 00:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Some Nevada history
It should be noted that some marked routes (the ones that got no number post-renumbering) were never actually maintained by the state. Unfortunately I don't have a source for this. --NE2 17:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

SR 512
Nice work on Nevada State Route 512. I really like the history section. My wife and I like to go hiking up there, as there are some nice waterfalls in the canyon. If you want, I'll scour my photo collection and see if there's one I could put up. For the record, the only thing keeping it from B status, In my opinion, is that the Route description section has no source. But that is trivially easy to fix. Just list the map you were looking at when you wrote it, and it's a B no problem.Dave (talk) 00:13, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- There was a bit more interesting history published for this route than what I can normally put into expanding a NV SR stub. I flagged this for a reassess, since I wanted to see how others would rate this effort. So far, your comment is the only evidence I have of anyone else looking at it.
- Anyway, I added a citation for Google Maps with the route description. (I don't like to cite Google Maps, but I didn't have a printed map with sufficient detail.) If you could upload a photo from this area, that'd be great; otherwise, it's no big deal. Thanks for the feedback. --LJ (talk) 06:01, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- I reassessed the article and I'll see if I have a photo of the area. If you don't mind I might play with the Route description a bit. I'm not a fan of the turn-by-turn route description. I prefer more context info, as you can tell by what I put into the US-50 and I-80 route descriptions. But I recognize that that is a personal choice, and some editors are big on the turn-by-turn style. Sigh, so much work to do, so little time =-). Dave (talk) 17:58, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
- Feel free to play with the RD, as I'm not married to it. I do prefer a bit more context, as it makes the RD a bit more interesting to read. I would have liked like to put more context in, but that's kinda hard with a relatively short urban route that I'm not overly familiar with. Thanks again. --LJ (talk) 19:50, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Dave (talk) 05:56, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- I revamped that a little over a year ago. The major reformatting I worked on in my sandbox over about a day and a half, then made minor tweaks over the next month after posting to article space. I'm still not completely satisfied with it, though. One of my long-range goals with that list is to move the pre-1976 route list to a separate page about the renumbering...once I've researched more about the old routes (so it will probably be a while). Thanks for the recognition! --LJ (talk) 08:02, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Boulder Strip
I wasn't sure where to put gaming statistics. It seems to me gaming is a big part of the Boulder Strip. Likewise I put Laughlin gaming statistics under Laughlin, Nevada since there is 7000 people who live there, and 10000 hotel rooms and more slot machines than people. I realize that gaming statistics need to be updated, that is why I am only citing summary year end reports. That way they only need to be updated once a year, and if someone is late in updating them they will take a long time to be completely obsolete. Pacomartin (talk) 02:08, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Virginia State Route 645 (Fairfax County)
I'm confused. You indicated that this page's exit list needs attention, yet SR 645 is a 2-lane road with intersections only. The listing represents the major intersections. What did you mean by this tag? --Tim Sabin (talk) 14:30, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- The USRD template doesn't have a separate tag for junction lists, so I used the exit list instead. There are several formatting problems with this list, including the multi-column street names, listing a railroad crossing as a major intersection, formatting of intersecting routes and road names, etc. Although not an exit list, formatting the junction list using the style guidelines of WP:ELG and proper use of the {{jct}} template would clean this up nicely. --LJ (talk) 18:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Got it. Thanks, I'll look into it on this page and others I've worked on. :-) --Tim Sabin (talk) 18:46, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Florida State Road 52
Would you mind giving us some idea about what possible references could be added to the article on Florida State Road 52? ----DanTD (talk) 00:51, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Reference a map(s) for parts of the route description would be a start. The route log linked at bottom can possibly be used to cite the roads SR 52 passes through in Pasco. The length should also be added to the infobox (if a source is available). There are several other problems with the article, such as an improper junction list and all the prose being in the lead. --LJ (talk) 01:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, there are a couple of problems with the Route Log; 1)It's from a dead website that only shows up because of the Internet Archive site, and 2)The only intersections there are at the termini of the road. It doesn't cite any other intersections. As for maps as references, the issue here is basically which ones to choose. ----DanTD (talk) 02:11, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Arkansas Interstates Map
I do agree that the old image (still available at File:Arkansas Interstates map.svg) needs a state outline, but to be honest, that is way beyond my self-taught Inkscape knowledge. I did attempt your request, however, but it is extremely inexact.
I wouldn't be surprised if this image is deleted soon, it really isn't very good. Brandonrush Woo pig sooie! 22:53, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Nevada state government copyright policy
Do you happen to know what is the copyright policy for Nevada state materials? The website policies are not clear at all. Section 6.4 of this document answers more questions that it solves. There are some vague implications that state created content that contain no intellectual property are free. However the statement is so vague, I'm not comfortable using that statement to claim content is free. Conversely, this section is clear that the state does claim copyright on graphical and design content. Do you know of anything more specific than this? Dave (talk) 23:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- I assume you meant "poses" instead of "answers" in that third sentence ;-) Anyway, I don't know much about the state's copyright policies. Is there something in particular you're looking at that? Maybe I might be able to help you track down the copyright information. --LJ (talk) 04:13, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Nothing specific yet. Just while I was researching for Interstate 70 in Colorado, I found the equivalent policy on the Colorado state website. It explicitly stated state authored materials are in the public domain. Where it came in handy is it allowed me to use the diagram for Glenwood Canyon without having to claim fair use. Just hoping that Nevada would have a similar policy. Again, that document vaguely implies the state does, but not explicitly stated. Dave (talk) 05:32, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey np, the reason for the N is like that is because the map is slanted so north is actually where the arrow is pointing, its just to avoid confusion. - I have no idea why its like that but as long as the N arrow is there my opinion on it is who cares. And I use the Tiger/ESRI data for the shapefiles you have to look into finding more Nevada data but the Tiger one works fine for me.—JA10 Talk • Contribs 22:53, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Nevada State Route 653
The west end of SR 653 is at Virgina St (SR 430), not Kietzke Lane. Even the cited source given on the page confirms this, see this is the cited source on the page: Nevada State Maintained Highways, Descriptions, Index & Maps, January 2008. On that page is the Nevada State Maintained Highways, Descriptions, Index and Maps Entire Book and a map on page 87 shows the west end starting on Virgina St (SR 430). USRD announcements
Do you think it would be a good idea to put a link to the USRD article alerts on the {{USRD Announcements}} template? Transcluding is verboten, so it would have to be a link. The template is updated somewhat regularly, but why should we update something that a bot can update for us? If you agree, I'll pose the question on WT:USRD. I'll watch this page so {{talkback}} is not necessary. --Fredddie™ 06:53, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- It couldn't hurt to have a link to the Article Alerts on {{USRD Announcements}}. Article Alerts doesn't pick up everything...especially the internal USRD processes (A-Class Review and Peer Review on WP:HWY). --LJ (talk) 07:28, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- Does WP:HWY use Article alerts? If it does, maybe include a link to that project's alerts as well as our own. --Fredddie™ 07:42, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think that would be overly helpful for USRD... As far as Article Alerts and Peer Review is concerned, Article Alerts only monitors articles that enter the main WP:Peer Review workflow, not project-specific peer reviews. There are a couple USRD-related articles at the main Peer Review right now, but they aren't on the USRD Announcements template because they're not in the WP:Hwy peer review process. --LJ (talk) 10:18, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Do you think the article has a chance of being upgraded to GA status? I'm thinking a few references need adding. My biggest concern is the list of closed properties at the end. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:21, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- It might have a chance at GA. Personally, I think the whole article needs a rewrite and additional references. The closed properties list might be better placed in List of Las Vegas Strip hotels. -- LJ ↗ 09:44, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- That is a good place for the list. However that would make it harder for that list to get to FL. I think all it needs to make FL is better referencing which should be available from the articles and more comments. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:13, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

You may want to check on the B class assessment criteria. I think that it meets four of them. The other two needs a review by other editors. If they are meet, just add the missing yes. BTW, if virtually every point has a reference, it probably could pass a GA review. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:19, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, Las Vegas Beltway is in a similar situation. It needs references for GA and needs another set of eyes on a few other items for B class. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:29, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I'm currently on a bit of a break from active editing, so I don't know when I'll be getting around to this. As I've come across information about the construction history of these two routes, I've been keeping track so that I can flesh out more detailed history sections--I'd like to get these two to GA status eventually, but my schedule no longer allows me to spend a decent amount of time on serious editing. -- LJ ↗ 07:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm about 98% certain that the 7/1/76 creation date is correct for SR 224--I won't find anything for the business loop designation though. -- LJ ↗ 08:54, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- Teah, thats what I am thinking as well. I was just pinging you (and the other person who has unresolved comments on my FAC) since its about to move into the "Older Nominations" section, and I am trying to get the outstanding issues resolved. --Admrboltz (talk) 22:14, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Confirmed creation date with 1978 NDOH route log on shelf in the government document section at UNR library. I was pressed for time, but this should be enough...

- Citation Info:
- {{cite book|title=Nevada's Federal & State Routes: Descriptions & Index|date=September 1, 1978|publisher=State of Nevada Department of Highways}}

SYTYCD template
Thank you for putting the footnotes inside the template. It looks much better this way when transcluded. Great work. //Gbern3 (talk) 22:06, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. Its footnotes inexplicably appearing between nav templates on a page really bugged me... -- LJ ↗ 19:07, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Pre-RFC straw poll
There is a brief straw poll to see if conducting a RFC on the question of coordinates in road articles is worthwhile at WT:RJL. Your input would be appreciated. --Rschen7754 08:20, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Pics for NV 375
Lj, Trying like mad to get involved with wikipedia again.... Anyways, I've uploaded a couple of pics from a road trip along Nevada State Route 375 to my flickr page in case you want to have some "original pics" that aren't used in other articles (i.e. Rachel, Nevada):[3] [4] I've got them uploaded to flickr with a CC-NC-SA license, but would be more than happy to upload any that you want to use to commons without the "NC" restriction. Let me know.... Dave (talk) 07:29, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'll have to check them out sometime. I just drove that for the first time in August but didn't have a really good camera for pictures. I'll take a look sometime...I'm afraid I haven't had much time for major Wikipedia editing lately due to a full-time job. -- LJ ↗ 07:53, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi Ljthefro. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Rschen7754 10:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
I've also given you autopatroller. --Rschen7754 10:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 24
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nevada State Route 225, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nevada State Route 51 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 15:17, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
I-15 MT
Were you going to add the mileposts from the route log? I was going to start just now, but I see you're still tweaking things. And you know how we all like edit conflicts :) –Fredddie™ 01:52, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- Go ahead. I came across the page and saw the table was only half in templates and couldn't leave it like that--I wasn't going to do much more than that, and am done now. LJ ↗ 02:12, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
Updated Summerlin South Map
I can't believe no one updated the Summerlin South, Nevada map for over 5 years after you requested for one. I took the time today to do it. Also completely updated that page top to bottom. Basic info and statistics were completely out of date. BlackHades (talk) 07:15, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
