Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia, the greatest encyclopedia on Earth! You seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics. You may wish to review the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, as well as the avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages. The Wikipedia directory is also quite useful. In addition, you might want to add yourself to the new user log; if you made any edits before getting an account, you may wish to assign those to your username.

By the way, an important tip: To sign comments on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This automatically adds your name and the time after your comments.

Finally, here are some open tasks:

...and thanks for your work on various dog-related articles. Elf | Talk 22:32, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, Elf, for the kind words. I would like a chance to say hi privately and attempted to send you email; too much the newbie to know if the attempt worked. [[Lisasmall 04:47, 27 January 2006 (UTC)]]

Dog show discussion

I moved your comment about dog show from my User talk:Elf/Archive dogs to Talk:Dog show and responded there. Hope we didn't exhaust you in your first couple of days--haven't seen your edits here for almost 3 whole days! (Unlike us useless Wikipediholics.) Elf | Talk 20:20, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Re: West Wing final election

I'm unsure what you mean by "my info" being in the body of the article. However, several editors, including myself, User:Rebelguys2, and User:Staxringold among others, have developed a policy of not including information about future episodes based on drafts or speculation, other than episode titles and summaries as published in TV Guide or the like. Including this information, we believe, goes beyond the traditional Wikipedia definition of "spoiler" and can potentially ruin the show for the viewers. Having to manage the article, I have already had the plot of the next few episodes ruined for me, and I don't want that happening to other avid fans who may just be coming here for casual information. The spoilers are well reported on other websites, and interested users can find them there. Thanks. — Scm83x talk 23:04, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Seems sensible.  :) I'm new at this. The info you included in your edit removing my speculation was that McGarry would die (or something) too late for the Santos ticket to be amended. That was news to me, and of course invalidates any notion of putting a replacement veep on. Thanks again -- Lisasmall 21:33, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Zaara

Certainly, what made me insert the cleanup tag was mainly the use of external links in the middle of the text, try to make links like this [1] , without a description. You could also try to throw in a subheading somewhere, like "modern references to Zaara", anything, basically, just to give the article a short introduction, it looks much more pleasing to they eye. Other than that it's a fine article :) Obli (Talk) 10:38, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

I've answered your questions on the Zaara talk page. Just notifying you in case it isn't on your watchlist. Obli (Talk) 11:47, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia glossary

Ah, ha! There is such a page! Elf | Talk 22:25, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Zeedonk vs Zonkey

I've quoted some of the references from the OED on the Zeedonk Talk page Talk:Zeedonk, I hope they clear things up a bit. I'll be interested to hear what people have to think about it. Cheers for pointing out that the references didn't work! Holypeanut 14:03, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Your page move request

I noticed your page move request today. I was bold and made the move myself, as virtually any registered user could have done. It's nice to ask, but there's no specific need to vote on unobstructed moves like this. At the top of all article pages there is a tab labeled "Move" — if you click this tab, you will be taken to a new page where you can enter the name of the page to which you wish to move the current article. As long as there is no history on the target page (meaning there is not more than one edit if the target page already exists), even a registered non-admin user can make the move. Thought I'd let you know for future reference. :-) BRossow T/C 21:24, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Lisa, undid the move...sorry but it was the right thing to do...the flag is the Red, black and green not Pan-African flag. Now Pan-African flag redirects to Red, black and green as it should. Sorry for the confusion. -- Da Stressor 03:55, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Ceratopogonid Web Page

The link is probably just temporarily disabled; I will find out what's going on and let you know. It would be helpful to maintain the link within the Ceratopogonidae article if at all possible. Squamate 16:37, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Hello,

Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.

Thanks! --Vox Causa 03:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
