Ways to improve Jeff Williams (Apple)
[edit]Hi, I'm Snowycats. Ochilov, thanks for creating Jeff Williams (Apple)!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Your article about Jeff W. is off to a great start!
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Snowycats (talk) 14:03, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

Your signature
[edit]Hello Ochilov and welcome to the Wikipedia! I saw your post at the Teahouse and your new customized signature. It might be good if you just changed it slightly, some of the colors or the font, since it now looks very, very much like the signature of editor ChamithN and there might be some confusion about who is who if someone just cast a quick glance at the signatures. You can find all the numbers for the colors here: Web colors, and here are some other guides for fixing your signature:
For customizing your signature you will find information at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing your signature, there is also this page: Wikipedia:Smurrayinchester's signature tutorial on how it's done and where you can find examples of signatures. When you have entered the new signature at "Preferences → User profile", the four tildes will automatically create the signature when you type them and click on save.
All the best, w.carter-Talk 17:56, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- W.carter, thank you for your notification, I just fixed it. Ochilov (talk) 20:11, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you Ochilov! So much better. :) It is great that you are getting accustomed to the Wikipedia so quickly, answering questions at the Teahouse and all. Please remember though that when you answer someones question, you must also alert that user in some way. Either with a "talk back" template on their talk page

- or much easier by just mentioning them in your answer. It is also nice to welcome them to the Teahouse, look at some other editors answers and you will soon get the hang of it. Here is a small guide for how to alert other users:
- When someone is posting on your talk page you get an automatic notification. That notification is a red square followed by a long yellow box (for most browsers and settings). In all other cases you have to alert the other editor in some way, either by "ping" or by mentioning them in a link. This will result in a just the red box notification on that users pages. So even if you respond on your talk page you still have to alert the editor you are addressing. If you want to get hold of me you write W.carter resulting in @W.carter: or W.carter resulting in W.carter and sign with the four "squiggles" ~~~~ at the end and hit "Save". There are some more, but these are the basics. And when you ask something on someone's talk page, you also create a new section so your question don't get entangled in some other conversation. If you are having a conversation with another user on some page, it is also customary to add that page to your Watchlist in case someone in the discussion forgets to alert.
- The policy is to leave an answer on the same page as the question, keep the conversation intact unless there is some reason for moving it elsewhere. Like complicated questions at the Teahouse can be continued on the appropriate talk page. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 15:07, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, W.carter. It is somehow hard for me to adopt from Russian Wikipedia to English, because there are many differences there. English is sometimes more simple, sometimes not. But I like how it's working. English Wiki more "human understandable" Ochilov (talk) 15:40, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- I think you are doing great. I know how hard it is to come from another WP and adapt to the way things are done here. I come from the chaotic Swedish Wikipedia and my first weeks here were really overwhelming. But I came in contact with some nice editors who showed me how to do things, that is why I now try to help out other "foreign" users. :) Please do not hesitate to ask me about anything that you might find confusing. Adware
[edit]Hi! I saw your comment on Jimbo's talk page about seeing ads on everywhere of wikipedia. I can't comment there since I'm not yet established. Do you see a small green box with a diagonal arrow to the top right of the text? If so, then you definitely have adware/malware. Please run an antivirus or malware scan asap. I wish you the best of luck. SirArren (talk) 23:04, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Fair use pictures
[edit]Hello my friend! A word of caution: I see that you have used the picture File:University of Westminster Crest.jpg in one of your userboxes. With the new script you have you should be able to see that the picture has a thin double red frame (it takes a couple of seconds for it to upload) around it. That means it is a non-free pricture used under the "Fair use" criteria. This is also stated in the copyright license on the picture's page. Such pictures may only be used in the articles for which the license apply, in this case the University of Westminster, and not anywhere else. I made a similar mistake when I made my first user page, and the picture was deleted almost immediately, with no kind comment! So it would be good if you choose another picture (free) from the Commons instead, perhaps one of these. You can link to the university in the userbox instead. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 14:32, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

A new script for you
[edit]Hello Ochilov, when you get messages like the one above ("Disambiguation link notification for December 2") that message is sent by an automatic program, a bot, and is just there to notify you that you have linked a name/word/place in a way that is "wrong". It means that you have made a link that can be many things. Like if you just write Rugby it links to a page where all the "Rugby's" on the WP are listed, and you have to clarify which one of those you mean. The person who read the article should not have to guess. Sometimes you just have to correct the spelling to not make it an disambiguation link. It is very easy to accidentally link "wrong" in this way, we all do it, that is why the WP have these bot-programs to alert us when we do something that should be corrected. So when you get a message like that, you just look where the miss-linked link goes and see how you can clarify it, otherwise other editors will have to spend time just trying to figure out what you mean, like in this drive. I have looked at the pages you have received notifications for and fixed some of those links and you can see how it's done. I could not accurately fix all of them though, since I was not sure if I interpreted the text right. :)
Since you are familiar with the use of scripts, I would suggest that you install the User:Anomie/linkclassifier in your common.js. The code is:
importScript('User:Anomie/linkclassifier.js'); // Linkback: User:Anomie/linkclassifier.js
importStylesheet('User:Anomie/linkclassifier.css'); // Linkback: User:Anomie/linkclassifier.css
If you have that, you can immediately see if something is wrong with a link you have just made, and save others the trouble later. When you have installed it, take a look at your user page. You have some redirected links, disambiguation link, misspelled redirects there. I have not corrected them since it is bad manners to tweak someone else's user page without permission. :) There are more really helpful scripts to help you edit the WP. All the best, w.carter-Talk 12:59, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, w.carter. I will use it. Cheers, Ochilov (talk) 13:28, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

External links
[edit]Thank you for helping new users at the Teahouse. However, please make sure that the advice you give there is consistent with Wikipedia policy - telling someone, for example, that they can add blogs to the External Links section of an article when WP:ELNO#11 specifically forbids that (and when the questioner even linked to that policy in their question) is not helpful. I've now supplied the correct information, but in future, if you are not sure how one of Wikipedia's policies works, please don't advise others on its use. Thanks for all of your contributions to improve Wikipedia!

Ahem...
[edit]A friendly piece of advice, many of us are friends here on the Wikipedia but we never display those on our user pages they way you have done with me and Mr. Wales. This is not Facebook where you try to collect as many friends as possible. None of us want to be glorified in userboxes, we are just colleagues working together on this project. :) (Yes, I know that the templates exist, but they are not cool, sorry.) I would appreciate if you removed those boxes. If you have signed Jimbo's guestbook or something, you may create a userbox saying that, that is a more common practice. Ways to improve Do-ocracy
[edit]Hi, I'm Lstanley1979. Ochilov, thanks for creating Do-ocracy!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Ochilov - do you have any more sources/proof of this subject's general notability? I know this is a port from Community Wiki, but in general, for a concept to be notable enough for Wikipedia, it should be better supported by WP:Reliable sources.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. LS1979 (talk) 12:18, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- It also reads like an essay. A tip would be that, despite the free and compatible licencing, other wikis are not good sources to base Wikipedia articles on because they're generally user-created input. If the concept of 'do-ocracy' has been covered extensively in the mainstream press (e.g. the BBC, CNN, reliable newspapers like the Times of London, and so on - I'm using British examples because I'm in the UK), then it can have an article here. However, merely being noted by another wiki is not solely grounds to upload the content here on Wikipedia. Please take a moment to read what Wikipedia is WP:NOT - also see WP:ESSAY.
Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, as the saying goes. But I'm not sure this generally fits WP's mission. LS1979 (talk) 12:27, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, I got it, I will search for references. --Ochilov (talk) 12:29, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Hum Jharkhandi Hai (film)
[edit]Hello Ochilov. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Hum Jharkhandi Hai (film) to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question - WP:CSD#A7 does not apply to films. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 22:03, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, no problem. --Ochilov (talk) 22:07, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Some tips and a script
[edit]Hello! When you have created an article it is just as important to see to that there are some other articles that links to it, so that the article does not become a Wikipedia:Orphan. The more articles that link to it, the better for the article, especially if it is up for review and you have to point out how important it is for the Wikipedia. The best way to go hunting for other articles that may be relevant is to just enter the name in the usual searchbox, but instead of clicking on the article that appears as a suggestion you click below at the "containing...". Then you get articles where the name appears even if it is not linked, and you can go and add the links.
That is what I did with some of your articles that I have been working on now. You can also look at the pages mentioned in the article, like I did with Dolchamar. I searched for "Vinilkosmo" to see if there was an article about them, found it and could link to it. I also followed the link to Leena Peisa and saw that Dolchamar was mentioned there, but not linked. Sometimes you have to be a bit of a detective to find everything that an article needs! :)
It is also good to check the "Languages - Edit links" in the far left column by the little "cogwheel" where links to Wikis in other languages are displayed. Links should appear automatically, but this does not always happened. I linked Dolchamar there and got a whole bunch of languages. :)
As for the references, the more info you can put in a ref, the better. It adds credibility and notability to the article. Especially if you can find info like who wrote it and who the publisher is. Another very important bit is the "|trans_title= |" and "|language= |" that you must use if your ref is in another language. I have to use them all the time when I cite Swedish sources and you should do the same with Russian and Esperanto. Look at this article where there are sources from all over the world and how they are handled.
And the script. When you want to edit a text after all the refs are in it is sometimes hard to se what is what. That is when the User:PleaseStand/References segregator is very useful. To use it you have to edit by clicking on the "main" Edit tab (for the entire page) at the top if the page. A new green button will appear in the edit window. A click on that will temporarily segregate the text from the refs, creating temp. ref names and you can edit refs or text much easier. At a "preview" the edit window is reset to normal, but any edits are saved. I suggest you install it and try it out as you fix up some of the refs in the earlier articles that you created. Read more about the script at it's page. Good night for now my friend, w.carter-Talk 21:30, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, my friend, good night to you too. --Ochilov (talk) 22:10, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

"Great minds think alike!" :) If you want to be able to archive things yourself, here or at any page, you can install this script:

- See User:Equazcion/OneClickArchiver for more info.
The "Archive" function at every post will appear. I prefer to have mine switched off by using the // in front of the script when I don't use it. That is because it is SO easy to archive things by mistake since the "click-thing" is too close to the scroll bar. Look in the "History" of my User:W.carter/common.js to see how I did it. Now I have to go back to work for a while. See you later! w.carter-Talk 09:33, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Lelant Wharf railway station
[edit]Hello Ochilov. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Lelant Wharf railway station, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Thank you. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 15:07, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- PhantomSteve, so what about PROD? --Ochilov (talk) 15:29, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- Regarding the initial tagging, I see that you used

- when you tag something for speedy deletion, this can only be done if you state which one (or more) of the speedy deletion criteria are met, and you didn't do that. Some speedy deletion criteria (A7, A9 and A11) do take significance into account, but none of those apply because it's not about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content, organized event or musical recording, and it's not an obvious invention. Several templates - at least one for each different criterion - are available with precomposed rationales (for example, if A11 did apply, you could use eitherdb-a11
ordb-invented
), and the genericdb-reason
should only be used in special circumstances, see the bulleted list in its documentation. - Regarding your last question: you can PROD it, because it's not been PRODded before; and "Unrematkable place, no claim of significance" may well be an acceptable rationale in that case, but personally I would expand it a little. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:25, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

New Page Patrol
[edit]Hi Ochilov. Following upon your request at WP:PERM I've been checking your recent NP patrols ove the last 5 or 6 days. Althought it does not require a user right, New Page Patrol is more important than any of the othr reviewer rights because it is our only 'firewall' against unwanted new pages. As such it is not a place for empirical experience - it needs to be got right first time. Most of the experience should be gained by doing vandalism or recent changes patrol, but even those need experiece, especially a native user level of English. Your accuracy rate is not quite up to par, with Basekchance, Motherofall (Mathrusri Anasuya Devi), Ella The Elephant (movie), Titoof (video game), Shalby hospital, People Magazine Awards, Ester Satorová, Miss Vietnam 2014 - Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, ProofHub, being recent examples of tagging that was either wrong, or using the wrong criteria for deletion, or simply patrolling articles that should have been tagged for deletion. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:45, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Bonjour Lionel Scheepmans, placing the graphs at the page of Auroville as such is better that having a separate page, but everything that you add must have recerences to state where you have obtained the information, otherwise it might be deleted anyhow. Pease read Help:Referencing for beginners for this. If you have any further questions you are welcome to ask at my talk page. Best, w.carter-Talk 14:24, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

- User:Ochilov and W.carter, thanks for you help. What do you thing about may actual reference ? For the question of original research, I don't understand. The original research was done out side wikipedia. Graphs are only pictures well accepted on Wikimedia Common and use on Wikipedia like every boddy can use his picture uploaded on common for illustrating and enhance an article. Other wise we can delete all graph presente on wikipedia ! What do you mean about this ? Have a nice day, Lionel Scheepmans ✉ Wiki ou eMail 09:09, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

@Lionel Scheepmans: Graphs are not "only pictures" since they are a way to present numbers and facts, that could otherwise be presented in tables or words. Any fact in the Wikipedia has to be accompanied by a reference that states where the fact has been found, if the fact is to remain uncontested. This is the same for facts represented in a numerical way, in a table or a graph. A reliable reference is something where readers and other editors can check that what you have put in the graph or table is right. If you look at the tables in this article especially in the Boston#Demographics section you can see a small text at the bottom of the "Historical population" saying where the data for the tables and graphs was found. That is the sort of thing you need to attach. The "Race/Ethnicity Composition" even has references for most of the numbers in the table. If all the facts that are illustrated in the graphs was written in a referenced text next to the graph, then the graph would be "only a picture". And the references should be by the pictures, easy to access, readers should not have to go to "on the title of various charts" or try to locate this discussion to find the source of the facts.
As for the original research. Wikipedia does not accept anything where you say "I wrote this, so therefore it is true", that is called original research. Your work has to have been published and written about in an independent book/paper/website before it can be used as fact here. This rule always annoy scholars and academics who are used to be regarded as "reliable sources". But look at it all objectively, we have no way of knowing who you really are or what you have written. Anyone can get an account here and make up a story about who they are, it is after all the Internet. If I, W.carter, said that a was an accomplished astrophysicist who have written lots of papers, would you trust me on this? Just because I said so? Well, I'm not and it does not matter who I am, I just confer facts that can be found in reliable sources. I hope this has made things somewhat clearer for you. Best, - w.carter-Talk 11:34, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- W.carter, thanks for this answer. But please what I need is a help. For the graph 1 to 6 all data are accesible on auroville.org, the link is on the graph them self and my work is not a reaserch but just to present all official data on a other form, and that what every boby do in Wikipedia, just take information from good source and present it in a new form by creating article. I you don't agree with this point of view I wait from you a solution not only an objection. I'm not a user hiding beind a use name, I use my real name for all my web activity and It's realy easy for a french speaker to found all information about me on internet, including copy of my diplome. More than this you have on your disposition a link to auroville radio (official radio) whit photo and interview. What do you say about : " we have no way of knowing who you really are or what you have written" don't match with me. For the graph 7 to 14, I folow you about the fact than we need a reference source to leave them on wikipedia. I've already contacted auroville radio to propose the publication of theses graph on their site. If you have alternative solution to enhance the Auroville article with my work, I'm still open to learn someting. Thank for your edits to fixe the title on the article and Marry chismas to you and Ochilov. Lionel Scheepmans ✉ Wiki ou eMail 14:01, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Federal Republic of Lostisland
[edit]The article Federal Republic of Lostisland has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable. Dubious claim to notability (created by a schoolgirl one day) and a search turns up no evidence establishing notability, while the refs do nothing for it either.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 17:20, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

- Not to put too fine a point on it, but the article is written in Engrish. ("in January 1, 2011"? Prepositions of time, anyone? And this one is classic) And you claim to have near native speaker knowledge of English. Not good. Nataev talk 06:31, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Nataev, not to put too fine a point on your knowledge of geography and comparative linguistics, but as far as I know, Uzbekistan is located in the Central Asia, not in the East Asia, while Engrish refers to speakers of Easter Asian languages, especially Japanese language. I also want to point here that native speakers of English differ by age and literacy level, are not they? ;) --Ochilov (talk) 08:45, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- And I also want to point here that it is a second time when you are telling me to change my English proficiency level (the first was on Meta) just pointing out typos. Please, stop that and stop showing every my mistake in Uzbek Wikipedia's Skype chat. It is really impolite. I hope you understood me. --Ochilov (talk) 09:00, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- "Engrish" is also used to generally refer to poor English. Things like "the Central Asia" and "native speaker of English differ by age and literacy level, are not they?" are great examples of poor English/Engrish. What I pointed out are not typos, they are mistakes. Anyhow, that's not my main point. Work on your article on Next Step Up School before it gets deleted. Nataev talk 11:35, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- The second example was typo. Also, I do not think that oddee.com is a serious website to consider as a reliable source for Linguistics and if you really think it is, as I see now, I have nothing to talk about with you. Feel free to write me when you will improve your knowledge of basic Geography and Linguistics (at least, required school base). ---Ochilov (talk) 13:14, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- "Typo" is a countable noun, if you know what I mean. Oddee.com is not a serious website, it's a blog. I didn't say it was a serious website. Don't jump to conclusions about my knowledge of geography and linguistics. By the way, why do you capitalize "geography" and "linguistics"? Or is that what native speakers do? Anyway, forget my comments about your near native speaker knowledge of English. Instead, try to improve your article. I have a feeling that you personally have something to do with this language center. You know perfectly well that ads are not reliable sources. Nataev talk 18:51, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Nataev, I added some more sources. About my relation to NSUS - I have been their student in 2012. --Ochilov (talk) 20:33, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Every single source you cited is a paid ad (some of them complete with the address and phone number of this language center. Actually, most of them are marked as ads by the author(s): 1, 2, 3.) So, at this point, the article still lacks reliable, neutral sources. Nataev talk 05:09, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Help with English Wikipedia article on Abdullah Khan II
[edit]I have been looking to try and undertake a major copy edit of the English Wikipedia article on Abdullah Khan II.
I have made some progress, but the middle and later parts of the existing article are very hard to understand. There are sentences that do not make sense. Also numerous names are included in the article without any explanation as to who or what they are or how they relate to Abdullah Khan and his life and achievements.
I note that you added much of the current material to this article in November 2014 and the article has not changed much since then. I note from your profile that you can communicate in a number of languages including Russian. Am I right in assuming from the bibliography that you sourced your additional material for the article from Russian sources??
Given that you say in your profile that you can communicate in English to a professional standard, you will appreciate that the article at the moment has a number of sentences that are difficult to understand or follow. Is it possible for you to have another look at the article and see if you make it read more clearly? Alternatively, do you know of any good internet based sources that I can use to improve the article. Any suggestions you can make to help me with this article would be appreciated. Thank you --Chewings72 (talk) 10:50, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pamirid race, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Indo-Europeans and Uzbek. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

10,000 Asia Challenge
[edit]Hi, I wondered if you'd be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge? The idea is to showcase the work being done on wikipedia across the continent, and inspire more people to create and work on countries which might not usually get much attention and then possibly running some contests to bring in new editors. I know it's very existence will definitely make me more likely to contribute more on Uzbekistan and other countries. Could be a way to highlight work needing doing for Uzbekistan and draw in new editors! Not sure, but if interested add your name to the participants and I'll consider setting something up later in the month.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:40, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
- Dr. Blofeld, sorry, but I do not live in Uzbekistan and currently I contribute solely to Bavarian/German/Esperanto topics. --Lingveno (talk) 05:34, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Viktoriia Taranchuk
[edit]The article Viktoriia Taranchuk has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
[edit]Hello, Lingveno. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Undisclosed paid editing
[edit]Hi. Please review WP:PAID more closely. The current note on this page is insufficient. The policy requires that it is made clear precisely which contributions you have been paid for and by whom. Simply saying that you advertise on upwork is not enough. The normal way to disclose is to list all the articles you have created for pay on your user page (not talk page) and also add to the talk page of each article. Please ensure that you take the time to become compliant with the policy as soon as possible and desist from further paid edits until the disclosures are up to scratch. Thanks SmartSE (talk) 11:48, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Smartse:, thank you for the notice. I will add the list to the userpage asap and the templates to the talk pages as well. Best, Lingveno (talk) 11:55, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. A closer read of WP:BIO, WP:BLP and WP:V would not go a miss either given the edits I've just made to Rebecca Vogels. While paid editing is permitted, if you are not compliant with core policies and let the pay cloud your judgement, the community are unlikely to be supportive. SmartSE (talk) 12:25, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- Also this is really not cool - all you've done is add a reference to an article about the company. It doesn't have any of this information in i.e. it's a WP:FAKE. SmartSE (talk) 12:38, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

- @Smartse:, I have marked all the article talk pages and have made a notice on my Meta userpage which appears in all projects, by the rules that has to be enough. Also, the contributions are tagged. --Lingveno (talk) 18:10, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from München Hauptbahnhof into Munich. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:33, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ahmad Ashkar
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ahmad Ashkar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:16, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Lingveno. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Bill Viola, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the request edit template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:13, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi! As I previously sad, I am now working on adding the sources. All I have done is added the missing exhibitions of him, there is nothing promotional there. Best, Lingveno (talk) 22:16, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- As you know, COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing articles directly. I've left information on the talk-page on how to make an edit request. Please use that, and no other, method to attempt to further your employer's purposes here. I see that our article on Lynn Chadwick will need to be rewritten to get rid of the guff from the gallery. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:31, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
- Will do so from now. I have added the artist's list to the main article with the sources, will refrain from adding the links to the gallery. Best, Lingveno (talk) 22:45, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
