Speedy deletion nomination of Roundtree, Massachusetts
A tag has been placed on Roundtree, Massachusetts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - Bah.. whatever. My first article.. waaaaaah! LilHelpa (talk) 15:57, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- Cheers, you should write more articles or I will pile up megabytes of Runglish for proofreading :) Seriously, if it was some another (fictituous) Chak 104 NB ... no one would ever notice it. That's the drawbacks of being so close to the center of the universe which is, of course, state of Connecticut :)) NVO (talk) 08:02, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

spelling corrections
Thank you for correcting my spellings in the following two articles: Murghab District and Ghormach District. My grammer and spelling is a little weak and I really appreciate it when there is a person taking care of my mistakes. (Ketabtoon (talk) 03:06, 27 July 2009 (UTC))
spelling corrections within a file name
Thanks for reviewing the article on Birmingham, Alabama. The change you made from it's to its is within a file name and broke the link. I will restore the correct file name. The grammar is incorrect but can't be changed since it is a file name. Merbenz (talk) 23:07, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Asian contributors
Some Asian scripts have no breaks between words or sentences. This might make it easier to forgive our Asian brothers for their English punctuation pecadillos. Mike Hayes (talk) 18:51, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm cool with that, Mike. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's OK to "correct" that, though, right? LilHelpa (talk) 16:15, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
You really like drama, don't you?
Not the wiki drama, the real stage drama. Maly Theatre (Moscow) needs a watchful eye. Thanks in advance, NVO (talk) 08:04, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for the typo fix. Ill go back and do a quick auto fix. How is the format off? i can change that when i go back to fix the typos. Tim1357 (talk) 19:00, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Careful editing
Thank you for your work on wikipedia; however, please be careful with your editing, and do not remove articles from appropriate categories, as you did with this edit. ---kilbad (talk) 19:35, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the grammar and typo check on Chester Gan.
Perhaps you could do the same to the Yellowface article? You could also check whether the article makes sense...lol

It's "its"!
Wow, just wow.
I honestly cannot comprehend how foolish I have been. I have completed four years of AP English, and a four year college degree and never learned this exception to possessives. The simple edit you made to Murder of João Hélio Fernandes Vieites made me review every paper I've written since ninth grade and not a single instructor corrected me. How could this have happened? I feel so ashamed. I wonder what else about this language am I missing.... :( ~ KingØLag√talk 13:03, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Enmascarado / emmascarado
Hello, I see you're using an automated tool to help you correct spelling mistakes etc. in Wikipedia articles and that's great. There is one problem though, it's changing "enmascarado" to "emmascarado" which is wrong, the term is a spanish term and it's most definitely spelled "enmascarado" so if you would be so kind to watch out for that problem in the future it'd be great. Thanks. MPJ-DK (No Drama) Talk 13:35, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- It's not a problem, I'm just glad I caught it early, saved us some changes. No worries you made a judgement call and that's cool. MPJ-DK (No Drama) Talk 13:42, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Melos Ensemble
Thank you for helping with Melos Ensemble. Composer Ireland: I meant to link to two different reviews. Both referred to the same CD. Looking again, one is enough, they say more about the composer than about the ensemble. Thanks for the hint. Did you look at Richard Adeney?--Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:15, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking. Adeney DYK tomorrow 30 Sep, queue 2--Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:12, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

- Young-Chang Cho, please. Violeta Dinescu - I thought I recommended this stunning lady here, probably missed saving. DYK Nov 11. Next will be Melos again. - Thanks for offering. In the context Kronberg Academy - supplied with an introduction and refs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:34, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you! One more: Folkwang Academy which I just moved to Folkwang Hochschule. I was surprised to find that article with details of the name but not a hint on the subjects taught, also without a single reference. I copied a list from an "outside" source - not beautiful, but at least you can imagine music and acting. What do you think? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:55, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the Hochschule (formerly Academy). Most prominent: Pina Bausch. Cleaning up after the move I found dozens of pages that would need "repair" but concentrated on hers, not touching the article itself - so far. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:56, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hochschule and Cho on DYK right now, thanks! (I found one misspelling of Rostropovich just in time.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:01, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you for the now presentable collection! I wonder about the terms "currently" and "-present" here and elsewhere. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:21, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Do you mean because it is difficult to maintain them? That they require constant monitoring? I agree that it is be a problem. The main articles on these people should be maintained better, so perhaps the list should rely on that reference only. Not sure what other lists do about this. LilHelpa (talk) 14:00, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Not only lists. German Violeta Dinescu opened with "currently shown at the Hamburg opera" - looking closer that was written 2004. In a way I regard the terms as meaningless without a date. In this and other long lists I find some remarks about time (and here: orchestra) helpful, compared to just names. But instead of "1970-present" it might just say "since 1970". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:27, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, I've changed those vague references to time many times. I don't find that "since" is a total cure, but it's better. It looks pretty awful, but the best presentation of fact is probably "1970-present (as of 2009)" or, better, would be some template that collected all such references that need updating for display on some project page. LilHelpa (talk) 21:33, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Visionary words! To close this topic - getting to long. I added a bit to the horn player with many activities. Next Melos I will post at the bottom - talking about "currently", smile. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:28, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- One more in this context, please, Karl Haas (conductor) with doubtful conducting qualities. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:42, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure about the one change I made on that one. Should the name of the Ensemble be italicized or just quoted off? Inline references would be better, but otherwise it seems fine. LilHelpa (talk) 02:59, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- DYK for Neill Sanders, did you know? Thank you! Also for the conductor who concerned me only because the other one linked to him. (Still wonder about phrasing like "a poor conductor, such that when playing" + the contents of that passage. Poor conductor, smile.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:43, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Didn't know. You know me... head down, plunging onward :) I tried a fix for your concern on our hapless conductor. LilHelpa (talk) 12:57, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Please read the article, before you correct it without thinking
Some time ago you have corrected so-called "typos" in an article on George Joye. If you had cared to read the article, you would have realized that these are sixteenth century titles, which were presented in the original spelling. You are the third person to "correct" the sixteenth century spelling to modern spelling. Why do you correct an article without taking a look at its content or the discussion page? GJ1535 (talk) 10:00, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- Very sorry. I did it for the same reason as the other two. I suggest you drop in a notation (or I may when I get time) so that it does not happen again. I'm always thinking, always reading. Some times just not well enough. LilHelpa (talk) 12:01, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

it's -> its
I see you have corrected one of these recently. Hopefully you sometimes go on the hunt for them. I'd offer you up a barnstar for it, but simple appreciation will have to suffice as I'm too busy correcting this stuff to design any :) Best regards and thanks for your many good works over the years. LilHelpa (talk) 12:51, 4 December 2009 (UTC) Oooh.. that was on a "to it's" campaign! Mucho kudos!! LilHelpa (talk) 12:52, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hi LH,
- Yes, I like to remove apostrophe catastrophes whenever possible. :) I do searches on "to it's", "by it's", "around it's", etc... basically any preposition followed by "it's", which are almost always incorrect. I see you do too. It's a small thing, but it helps improve the grammar of the encyclopedia. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees and fixes these issues. Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 01:51, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Melos Ensemble continued, Adrian Beers
Please feel invited to preview User:Gerda_Arendt/Adrian_Beers as the last founding member of the Melos Ensemble - and look again at that - ever-changing. Interesting ref of Wardour 1964 1965 - I didn't even go into details yet. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:31, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, would like to offer you beers! Article moved to Adrian Beers. Please also look at the Royal Northern College of Music, something happened to the columns since I saw it last ... Also the last entry here looks strange ... And the second Giovanni Grancino ref got lost - I tried to find a similar one, no luck so far. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:45, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks for your great help again, especially for noticing that there is English info on Händel-Festspiele! No, we don't know from where he graduated: this doesn't help: "Seit 1960 unterrichtet Jakob Stämpfli an den Konservatorien Biel, Bern, Thun, den Musikhochschulen Saarbrücken, Hamburg, Essen und seit 1992 als Direktor des Konservatoriums für Musik und Theater in Bern." Conductors: some of the ones mentioned before + Koopman mentioned later - all the great names anyway. - I moved. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:19, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- If you feel better - but only then - could you please go over Dieterich Buxtehude where I inserted KM and the last volume of Opera Omnia. For that section I tried to avoid double linking, but otherwise ... an event announced for 2007 ... + 2 requests for inline citation. - Sure, nobody knows when he was born nor where - but it looks a bit too chaotic. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:28, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Better, but a bit groggy still. I worked it for some minor stuff, but couldn't figure what more to do (or just lost interest). LilHelpa (talk) 20:14, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- One more aspect of that one: the funny juxtaposition of "Available media" (heading left, graphic right) and "Commercial" (strange title?). One more article with problems: Franz Crass (short!). I edited a bit, but didn't dare to remove the (bot-created) warning yet. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:52, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
- I removed "commercial" in Buxtehude. It seemed to serve no purpose. I think Available media refers to the entire list and the graphic on the right is typical for sample music.
- I took a whack at the Crass article, I'm not sure whether the two external links are good enough primary sources to add references from, but my guess is that they are. I would think that once that's done you could remove the BLP template. LilHelpa (talk) 21:35, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Please be careful in fixing spelling errors in references. [1], In this article you fixed "University", however the actual article has spelled it wrong. [2].--Crossmr (talk) 01:52, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

RMF
Hello lilHelpa, I was busy on a new construction site, quite German, I'm afraid, - are you up to this: User:Gerda Arendt/Rheingau Musik Festival, not ready, but I need to ask questions - like how to reference this better in English, how to select some of the hundreds of artists ... and before I ask I ask you! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:29, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, Gerda. Busy is good! I could not find any references to add. I think you just go with the more famous artists. It is a judgement call and no one is better suited to make that call than you. Maybe the most famous artists, those discovered there (if any) and a couple of the later ones. I noticed Lang Lang is prominent in the search. Another good job. Congrats! LilHelpa (talk) 12:26, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- Another good job! Thanks so much! If you look at Lorch, Hesse, at the one and only ref (that I just inserted) you see a beautiful image of a concert location, - as a lilreward. (Perhaps you could also look at the rather German English of that article, if you have the time. I fixed just what I thought necessary around St. Martin, correcting the century ... - as wrong in German, as I found out ...) For artists I took the ones referenced (many of them dead by now) and will perhaps add a few personal friends, smile. - Other topic: I had an argument about the IPA of Buxtehude with someone who got the Danish(!) one from "Longman Pronunciation Dictionary" - but Buxtehude is really more of a German composer. That dictionary should get to know, but how? I inserted a German IPA along with the other one for the moment. - Back to RMF: we discovered Chanticleer (ensemble) in 2000 (Eric Alatore a basso profundo), ensemble amarcord in 2002 - not yet in this WP, Huelgas Ensemble in 2005, article last Decembre, and not by me! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:52, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you! Had to correct a minor one, RMF is not a concert, but 153 in 2010. I still would like to improve "building was built". If you liked the place, there are of course all the nice others towns, smile, and the composers ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:42, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- To be more precise: Geisenheim, beautiful "cathedral" - at least it looks like it, smile. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:43, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- RMF expanded a bit and moved to Rheingau Musik Festival, thanks to your encouragment! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:53, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- For more sightseeing I recommend Idstein and Rüdesheim am Rhein including Eibingen Abbey. RMF for DYK - no surprise, right? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:29, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

- Right! No surprise. Point of interest... One line of my ancestors came from Mettenheim (Alzey-Worms), emigrating to the US in the 1850s. Small world? --LilHelpa (talk) 16:40, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your eye-opening visit in our small world to Idstein. "outlying centres"! "stand there around"! - still laughing. Oestrich-Winkel - I didn't change much - is perhaps good for more amusement --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:57, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Did you get a chance to visit the Drosselgasse in Rüdesheim yet? I found the "outlying centre" there again and seriously would like to know what that means? - I added two friends, unfortunately dead already, so in memoriam. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:25, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm... I think "outlying centre" may refer to ortsteil, quarters or villages. What do you think? LilHelpa (talk) 21:24, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your visit to Rüdesheim! "Ortsteil" (part of a town) sounds correct, but "outlying centre" would tell me that there is a centre to speak of - or not? Eibingen and Ehrenbach (that made me laugh) have a few hundred "souls", so and I dared to call one village and left the other. The term is found in thousand+ articles, the names on the first ones are all German. Learning --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:34, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't think I can help much - I can't work out what those sentences are supposed to be saying. The Polish version of the article doesn't help either. Probably best to delete them, if no-one comes along to explain them.--Kotniski (talk) 07:13, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your edits on World Soundscape Project. I'm still new to editing and creating wiki articles, so it's great to have someone help fix little details I've missed.--James O'Callaghan 08:34, 27 February 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by JDOCallaghan (talk • contribs)
