Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 20:13, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Derby Suburbs - Help Needed
[edit]Hi
I need help adding my wiki page about my area in Derby to the Derby Suburbs but have tried but cannot do it....apologies for my mistakes but it is just that i have joined wiki a few days ago and getting to grips with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donegalbundoran (talk • contribs) 22:38, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Apologies there....well i have a new Wiki Page that i have created for my area in Derby near Mackworth as well. I would like to add my page/suburb to the Wikipedia page about Derby but more importantly to the Derby Suburbs. I have tried to do this but cannot. Any pointers? Donegalbundoran (talk) 23:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I have already typed all the content out in my Wikipedia page and have created it....up and running but cannot add it to the Derby page. Donegalbundoran (talk) 23:25, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
I will have a go. Thank you for your help. Donegalbundoran (talk) 23:33, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi The page i have created on wikipedia is an area on its own and some mistake it for being part of Mackworth. The only time the New Zealand area is connected to Mackworth is that it shares the same electoral ward and that they are next door neighbours. It does deserve its own Wikipedia entry on here and thats why i thought i should do i. Hope that helps. Donegalbundoran (talk) 09:24, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
My day
[edit]Happy after a great concert (it's on Ignace Michiels' article, he played incredibly) yesterday and three DYKs one day, I have a soprano for you, Gerlinde Sämann, pictures! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:53, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I'm glad your ears (and brain) are feasting! For me it has been a summer of comedy and food (and drink). Regarding our new soprano friend, AWB could find nothing to complain about, but I wonder about the long sentence beginning, "In the field of...". Perhaps a division somewhere would make for easier reading? Also, "Breath-Therapist" here would usually be "respiratory therapist" I think – unless yours is an older terminology, British, or a more specific field of study. Enjoyed the fotos! --LilHelpa (talk) 11:02, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you! I changed the therapist term, taken from Bach-Cantatas and probably translated from German. I changed the order of the historically informed performance items. The still long sentence will be broken after DYK. - 25 years of joy: Reger-Chor, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:43, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, should have explained properly before. On this edit [1] the refs you're changing into "name" tags aren't meant to be name tags, they're meant to be human readable as references to the books which are then listed in the biography. Changing them to name tags only hides the reference so it can't be read. There is a way of linking that style of reference to the books, it's explained in WP:CITET and the relevant guideline. Here's an exapmle of how it ends up I_the_Supreme, I'm just not sure it's worth all the fiddle so I havn't gotten around to putting in those links. Thanx. Misarxist (talk) 07:54, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
oops, no yr second edit doesn't stuff up the links, but the name tags are superfluous. Misarxist (talk) 07:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)No, it does make the refs unreadable, I'll stop trying to work out what I'm saying now & go with my 1st try. sry about this. Misarxist (talk) 07:59, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- It would seem i don't know what i'm talking about ;) please ignore me. Misarxist (talk) 08:05, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

North western
[edit]Hello - I am very curious why you would go and change "north western" to "northwestern" in an article, when both are correct usage? Socrates2008 (Talk) 09:15, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, first, let's say that the change was more than that, it corrected a spelling error. I guess I was unaware however that "north western" is correct. Does it mean the same thing? Or is it more equivalent to "northern west" shore? LilHelpa (talk) 10:29, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- No, it's not the same as northern west. Hyphenated looks the most correct:
- Socrates2008 (Talk) 11:55, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Interesting. I have often seen the hyphenated and I now leave that alone. My experience prior to Wikipedia was limited to "northwest" and "northwestern". Thanks for the illumination! LilHelpa (talk) 16:35, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Long time back ...
[edit]I said 'hi' and compared examples. I note them as I come across them. Here's a couple
aborbed (s.b. absorbed) accelaration acheiving (lots!) acoren (phonetic spelling?) acreas (keyboard) ans (lots, strangely not in the lists) . forcs (s.b. forces) . dissolusion distintive indefinate lighteheadedness makig medieaval (lots, s.b. mediaeval, not in lists) statis (lots, s.b. stasis, e.g. "in statis")
Some turn into treasure hunts, as you can't just search for the word because it naturally occurs so often correctly, but you have to think of word combinations to search for:
. were seem as (s.b. seen) . prevented his from (s.b. him) discovered ad described (s.b. and) to do so avery summer whose pics ate (s.b. pigs, english with an accent?) The were (hmm, "the are" = "they are" or "there are")
Any idea how to find words smashed together? Like
1351and ofLugo
Strange sort of fun... :-) Shenme (talk) 03:57, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Strange, but then like a sort of puzzle. I have to say I've moved away from the treasure hunts a bit to just banging away at the common ones. But increasingly I'm having to mix in some good old strange fun :) I always feel like I'm doing the "real" work when I'm cleaning up those that are sometimes correct.
- Many of the common ones such as occuring --> occurring could be left alone without affecting the reader's concentration, but their frequent correction leads to nabbing other corrections early, hopefully getting folks on the right track early.
- No idea how to hunt the smashed ones, better to ask someone more fluent in "regular expressions" or Regex as I think some would be somewhat possible with that.
- Have you noticed that the letter "i" appears to get dropped from words the most often? Seems that way to me.
- What is it with folks who don't proofread?????
- Thanks for checkin in. But I figure you just cost the wiki 30 of my edits ;) --LilHelpa (talk) 11:00, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Reculver - just so that you know...
[edit]No biggie but, per your request on your user page, 'I do make mistakes and want to know when I have made them', in this edit of Reculver you removed a square bracket in error - this bracket has been removed before, so you're not the only one, and I've now added a hidden note in the hope that it won't happen again - and you "fixed" an apparent typo "litle" -> "little" in a direct quotation, where the form is "litle". I've reverted those two, and your other fixes were fine as far as I can see. Cheers. Nortonius (talk) 15:00, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I appreciate the notice. That "litle" thing is disturbing as it was clearly in an Olde English quote. LilHelpa (talk) 17:50, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Jeff Ragsdale
[edit]Hi LilHelpa. You worked on Jeff Ragsdale's page at one time. Ragsdale is currently being harassed by IP number 71.190.77.101. This person, whom we have identified through correct legal means, is a fellow actor and he started his attack on Ragsdale by submitting a fake resume regarding Ragsdale on craigslist. Then said person started a commentary regarding Jeff Ragsdale's Wikipedia "notability". This whole issue has now snowballed into a "notability" issue on Wikipedia because of IP number 71.190.77.101's false claims regarding Ragsdale. My question to you is can you leave a message on Theda's page about your sentiments regarding Ragsdale's notability? Theda has since reinserted the notability tag on Ragsdale's Wikipedia page. Ragsdale is clearly a notable person. One would just have to look at the rich sources, and all of his television and film credits, as well as his international activism. Or could you possibly point me in other directions? Richard Peterson 11-20-10 —Preceding unsigned comment added by RichardPeterson44 (talk • contribs) 03:12, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

- Great catch. Thanks for being there. --LilHelpa (talk) 22:36, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Lang Vei
[edit]Hi Mate, I just finished the Battle of Lang Vei article. Please go through it for me as usual;)Canpark (talk) 13:22, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
fast musicians
[edit]Gabriel Dessauer and Max Beckschäfer went on the Main page faster than I could write, just for fun, if you want to take a Thanksgiving look, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:47, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- I just added a few missing full stops to Gabriel (translating "him" on the occasion of his bday) and thought of you. Two more composers I liked meeting in October, Rudi Spring and Jens Josef (known from Gestural Variations), and cantata BWV 70, if you feel like it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:42, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for Spring. Just for DYK I combined two sentences to one, will do it your way afterwards, smile, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:31, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- My pleasure. The other articles seemed clean. Be advised that I'll soon be taking a wikibreak. Keep the music playing. --LilHelpa (talk) 21:33, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the cleanup in the Edwin R. Fellows infobox, LilHelpa. I'm having trouble making the Harvard references for Broehl work properly. The others work fine. Perhaps you could look into that for me. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 22:18, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- Never mind. I figured it out! Thanks, again for your interest. User:HopsonRoad 22:22, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
Article in need of typo fixes. Thank you. Jaime070996 22:50, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
October 15.
[edit]Why was my edit removed as vandalism. When it is all for the same thing October 15. I simply added a link to sign a petition to have the day proclaimed in Ontario aswell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.101.119.100 (talk) 18:21, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- That does not sound really encyclopedic. Perhaps I could give you a better answer if you told me to which article you refer. LilHelpa (talk) 18:33, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

December 25
[edit]Merry Christmas! I hope your Wikibreak was an enjoyable one. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:41, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
Welcome back
[edit]Hi, lilHelpa, hope your holidays were enjoyable! You just missed 3 Bach cantatas for the three days of Christmas (BWV 91 appeared with its pictured chorale!), but can look at the preparation for the rest of Bach's first Christmas season in Leipzig, BWV 190 and BWV 153, the final one BWV 65 in progress, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:17, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Holidays were very enjoyable and waist-expansive. You've continued your usual fine work on the above. Minor "fixes".
Hope your holidays were full as well. --LilHelpa (talk) 12:04, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, look for Messiah, also nice meetings with family. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:32, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
- Next: BWV 154, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:22, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, one of your better articles I think. Short on time but will look further at the choir link later. LilHelpa (talk) 12:36, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
Owl
[edit]Hello, It has come to my attention that you have edited the page for "long-tufted screech-owl" **(link below).
Please revert your spellings of the specific scientific name of the owl in question, "argentina." The first letter of this name, when making reference to the scientific term (different from the name of the country), is not to be capitalized. I appreciate your attention. User: mmslouis.

I believe I corrected them all. LilHelpa (talk) 21:35, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
