Hoping for Some Help :)
There is an article in the Deletion Review for "Gabriel Murphy" - http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Gabriel_Murphy. This was an article that was created in February of this year with limited content. Soon after its creation, a request for deletion was made with a subsequent discussion: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Gabriel_Murphy. The decision by User:SoHoLand was to redirect the article to Aplus.Net.
In May, the article was recreated with 16 sources from various newspapers and magazines within the article, based on feedback by several users on the request for deletion discussion. However, user User:SoHoLand continues to redirect the article to Aplus.Net, even though the article contains more sourced information than Aplus.Net. I believe this article meets WP:BIO as some users pointed out on the deletion discussion. User:SoHoLand suggested that the article go up on deletion review to consider whether it should be a seperate article. I did this on June 2, and if you review the deletion review discussion the majority agree to overturn. However, User:SoHoLand will not do such. I was hoping you could chime-in on the discussion and offer some assistance. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.76.132.152 (talk) 02:54, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't register an opinion there and I don't see any reason to do so now. While I appreciate you bringing the matter to my attention, the DRV will run its course with or without my input. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 13:51, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello Lifebaka- an admin (C.Fred) let me re-write the "Gabriel Murphy" article in my user sandbox. I have taken a considerable amount of time to make sure everything I possibly can is cited by independent sources. I now have 44 total references and I think over a dozen different sources. If you have the time, I would appreciate it if you would review the article before I re-open a deletion review. If you can review it and leave me a message with your thoughts as to whether you feel it is solid and likely to be approved as a stand-alone article or otherwise what areas need work, I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time and consideration.

We tell stories
Sorry, I don't think I even realised I was deleting the tag. I just put some stuff in while i typed the actual article, then pasted over the top of it all.
I'm including some links to other sites that mention We tell Stories, i hope that helps. OldBareQuillster (talk) 01:30, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- If you're going to add refs, you can go ahead and remove the {{prod}} tag. I'd rather see sources first, but you've got five days either way. WP:N does require non-tivial mentions in the sources, but trivial will do for a while at least. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 01:34, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for cleaning up page, it looks great!
On the Zane Morris page, the only question I have it on the citation needed, is that okay to be on there meaning it's not going to cause problems? what does it mean? Let me know if there's anything I need to do. Thanks! Hyperbeard (talk) 16:55, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- All it means is that you should use some references at those places. With
<ref></ref>
tags. I'd add some myself, but I don't know where to find the information. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 23:11, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
SimonT Hockey Simulator
I'm confused on how to make comment on the "Don't Delete this page" task.
I did post a copy here : http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/SimonT_Hockey_Simulator#SimonT_Hockey_Simulator
Is that correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by SimonT-Pycos (talk • contribs) 18:04, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's right. You might want to include a little more of an arguement to keep, however. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 23:13, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I removed the Prod. Since it was a French film with an article in the French WP, I looked there and found some info, such as its awards, and references. I made a start at translating and bringing it into ours.DGG (talk) 17:52, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

- That's cool and all, but undoing all the work I've put into copyediting and wikifying the article isn't going to help you at AfD. I'm trying to get it kept, really. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 20:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Really sorry just I would like to keep the Further reading section of the article espessialy theseExamples 1-30 untill the discussion is closed. May be better temporally keep these 30 Examples? [Ngn]] 92.46.69.162 (talk) 13:42, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- It's pretty unencyclopedic stuff. Pretty much any editor who saw it would either remove it or AfD the article again. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 23:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Update on Funding Evil
You commented a few days ago on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Funding Evil concerning the article Funding Evil. Zane Morris Page Kept
Does that mean that the considered for deletion box can be removed now from the article? Hyperbeard (talk) 23:07, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it does. I've removed it. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 23:36, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Lifebaka is numero uno. Thanks. Will be back with any other questions on how to get it right in the future. Thanks. Hyperbeard (talk) 23:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Query
Regarding:
- Sorry - but which other user's comments did I remove? (I did quite a bit of restoration work, trying to undo the damage wrought by friend "Cheeser1", but I am not aware of having removed anyone's comments. Are your referring to the vote for deletion, which the same friendly user had registered, and then struck out, which I then deleted? If so, is there a rationale for keeping such struck out comments that are just an eye-sore for the reader, and the contributor doesn't want in the record anyway?R_Physicist (talk) 00:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I was refering to this edit in particular, but it's not the first. We keep even struck-out comments in AfDs so that a glance shows the entire history of the discussion. I was just letting you know that it's very bad form, is all. Please don't take offense. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 01:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- P.S. Please don't conclude that I include you in my list of reprehensible people; I have noticed what your contribution was, and believe it to have been done entirely from good will, which seems to me an act of generosity on your part. You said earlier that you couldn't understand the article, which I commented on, but you seem to believe that any article, if at all possible, should be saved - a view that I cannot agree with, since I am concerned about the impact of misinformation on my own area. I will comment on that in my summary. But your role, in rushing to the rescue, and using your skills in - can we say, "copy editing"?, which were quite well-applied, and bold, certainly were of assistance to N.G. Nagulova, and I'm sure that, when she finally understood you were really trying to help, she appreciated it. R_Physicist (talk) 00:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't, no worries. But I must disagree with you that the article should be deleted. I've already made my points, and you've read them, so I won't put them here again. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 01:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

creating category
Hello:
I treid to put my article into a category under Healthcare in Canada but for some reasons it won't show up as a subcategory of 'Healthcare in Canada'. Would you able to look into it and inform us of how to resolve this issue.
Also, since we have updated our article based on the feedback from you (re: citation) can we remove the tag on top of the article i.e. original research and citation.
Thank you, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Enmoregirl (talk • contribs) 13:14, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Mark Mathis
Hi,
Sorry about removing the speedy deletion template. I did add a {{hangon}} template to the head of the article, and I thought I could remove the template if the concerns were addressed.
BTW, I noticed that the article was deleted even though I did address the concerns. What is my next step?
Webbbbbbber (talk) 17:52, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't look at whether it still met the WP:CSD, so I might be at fault here. But you're still not supposed to, even if you've fixed the problems, since too many people remove it to try to make it go away.
- First, you should contact the admin to who deleted it and see if they'll undelete it. If they won't, open up a thread about it at WP:DRV. Or, you might just want to work on it in your userspace first then do the above things (at, say, User:Webbbbbbber/Mark Mathis). Having a suggested version always steamlines the process.
- Also, as a side note, the article should be at Mark Mathis instead of Mathis, Mark. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 20:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help! I'll work up a prototype in my sandbox, then contact the guy who deleted it. Webbbbbbber (talk) 21:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you updated the redirect link for this episode, thank you for making it more relevant. I recently got a really weird warning about some kind of threat to deletion for it, but I am unable to find it. Since you edited it more recently than me I was hoping you might know something? You did not seem to get such a warning judging by your talkpage though. Tyciol (talk) 00:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hmmm. It was speedied under A7, but then the redirect was restored. Looks fine with everything said and done, so I wouldn't worry. Same admin did both too, so I'd go ask him if you want to know more. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 01:27, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- No problem, really. I'm just glad I caught it before it was accidentally deleted. Besides, I was about to do it myself when I took a look at the history. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 22:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Bonnie Bloomfield
My first page, featuring Bonnie Bloomfield, has been marked for "speedy deletion" and I don't know why. She is a real author, and The Slate Hill Covenant is a real novel. While she is not--yet--famous, why is she less worthy of consideration than the countless other authors on Wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wacky immortal (talk • contribs) 23:35, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- The article doesn't tell us why this particular author is important. Please see WP:CSD#A7. You might also want to review our policies on notability and verifiability (i.e. sourcing). --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 23:40, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion of Blackford family
Are you kidding me? Did you actually read it?
- Jane Blackford (c. 1377–1426), Married to Sir Seymour, Duke of Excretion
- Blake Blackford, 231st Earl of Doormouse
- Blackford Blackford, 2nd Earl of Godzilla
...for example. -- Roleplayer (talk) 19:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Damn, I didn't read it well enough. Re-added. Sorry 'bout that. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 19:24, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
My contribution, speedy delete.. almost an hour later?
Hi Lifebaka, i just got a message welcoming me. Wasn't sure if it was automated, seemed it. But anyway, i was just curious about my first contribution. I made a topic about a website, and i hadnt added much content, so it came under speedy deletion. I spoke in the talk page, and its still under speedy deletion. Its been an hour now, do you know whats up? Maybe you could take a look? check my contributions. Thanks -Sam Smanic88 (talk) 19:40, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's not automated, it's just a standard template. Although creating a bot to welcome users might be a good idea.
- You might want to include some information as to why the website is important. Something like being involved in a major contoversy outside of just the site itself. Adding references that appear in reliable, third-party sources to establish the notability of the website might also be good. Using the links I just provided should help. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 19:42, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
i've edited the page. Maybe you'd like to take a look now? I think it stands up to the rules and shouldn't be marked for speedy deletion now. I have added its notability and achievements. Aswell as a small bit on its history. Smanic88 (talk) 20:14, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've looked, and done a Google search for it. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that the subject passes WP:N, our notability requirement. You see, we need multiple non-trivial sources published about a subject before an article about it goes up. It doesn't look like smRARE.com has that. I'm sorry, but I really can't help with that problem. In the long run the article won't stay up; if you want, you can replace the page with {{db-g7}}. And, if a news agency or someone publishes a story about the website, it should then meet WP:N. Please don't let this discourage you from editing, there are thousands of articles on Wikipedia I'm sure you'd enjoy editing. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 21:52, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Alright dude! no worries. Thanks for the help anyway. :] 134.220.186.129 (talk) 14:23, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

- My plan is to step in and tell everyone to shut up and walk away. Either it'll work or they'll start yelling at me; which is fine, since I'll just move it all over here to my talk page. Having people yell at me on my talk page is better than having people yell at me elsewhere. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 15:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK that seems like a good plan. The Rationalist (talk) 16:20, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

This is very ill-considered
First of all: how can anyone possibly construe the following as "incivility"?:
"I am not participating anymore, but feel somewhat sorry for this poor woman, N.G. Nugmanova (author of the the article), with her "Russian conspiracy" paranoia. Perhaps you, or someone else, could gently help her with this by pointing out that there is a very easy way to determine the geographical location of any anonymous IP address, using one of the standard IP address locator services available on the net." 24.202.238.172 (talk) 13:52, 19 April 2008 (UTC) (alias: "R Physicist")"
Moreover, this was not posted as part of the AfD debate, but as a discrete comment at another user's "talk" page. Isn't it clear that I was actually trying to help her (without getting drawn again into the debate)? (I had even considered leaving this same message for you, since you seemed to want further to help her.)
The fact is, NGN's accusations of "Russian" anonymous contributions to the previous AfD debate were completely off mark, as can easily be verified (and has already been done). They formed part of the nastiness of the previous debate, as you well know. Repeating this within the present AfD discussion, again and again, just makes her look worse. Making false accusations, and repeating them even after they have been demontstrated to be false, can only make the accuser look more and more foolish.
Even this well-meant gesture of mine has been interpreted by her in an insulting way. She has simply lost all perspective, and is acting against her own best interests.
Finally, you should know, as well as anyone, that I offered twice, during the previous AfD discussion, to communicate with her directly, via e-mail, but she declined. I am now no longer willing to do so, since I regard her increasingly shrill outbursts and ad hominem attacks as beyond any reasonable bounds of civility.
I cannot comprehend why you would want to continue acting as her advocate. 24.202.238.172 (talk) 21:21, 19 April 2008 (UTC) (alias "R Physicist")
- I'm sorry if you took offense, it was mostly in regards to your previous comments. As far as the above goes, mostly the comment about "paranoia" was what I was refering to. It's not really necessary to point it out, since the article isn't judged based on who wrote it. As far as being her advocate, I'm trying to be everyone's advocate here. I'm not sure exactly how it's working yet. But yes, you do have a point about her comments. I'll see what I can do about it. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 21:45, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps everyone should calm down (it has been known). I'm going to watch the BAFTAs and have a glass of sherry. WP:SHERRY Best The Rationalist (talk) 18:32, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
No Warning (Science Fiction series)
Thanks for the suggestions, Lifebaka. I think the article is noteworthy; I understand the need to have a bar somewhere, though. Look, the series has stirred up enough interest in Northern Ireland to merit interest here (http://www.culturenorthernireland.org/article.aspx?art_id=163) and a couple of printed articles. It doesn't have the audience of Kate Modern, but it's essentially from the same school and is the work of an up-and-coming local film-maker. It uses innovative techniques to involve the audience, and has a small but growing audience on You Tube (measured by views) and on the website. Is this too parochial?
Sneekie (talk) 14:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Looks fine to me from here. Just put a little info about that in there, use some <ref> </ref> tags around the url after it, and remove the PROD tag. If you need help with any formatting or other such syntax things, drop me a line here and I'll make it work. Or you can look around at other pages and figure it out. Although, as a note, we usually don't consider YouTube a reliable source, since anyone can put anything there with absolutely no vetting for factual-ness. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 22:46, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Delete Review
Dear Sir,
Yesterday (28th) you stated in a delete review that the Bloodstained Memoirs page (which is currently only a page in my user space - User:Commoncase/Bloodstained_Memoirs) should be put back as an actual article in the main Wiki (preferably as "Bloodstained Memoirs"). Do you take care of putting the page back up as an actual Wiki article? Could you please advise which areas you think would need more referencing, and I will research the production some more and attempt to do so. Thanks Commoncase (talk) 11:30, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd prefer a wider consensus before I take any action, but I'll just go ahead and do it if no one raises a good reason not to in a few days. Now, you'll want to keep improving the article both before and after this, since I can't offer protection from non-speedy methods of deletion, but I can try to point you in the right direction. I'll take a longer look at the article and see what I can do tomorrow. Happy editing. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 00:47, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Dear Lifebaka,
May I kindly ask you to observe the deletion review page for the above. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter as I sincerely belioeve this article should be in the main Wiki. Commoncase (talk) 08:53, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Deletion review of XtremeData
Lifebaka, thanks for welcoming me. I do have a question, which I would appreciate your help with, if you could, please. In this deletion review that I've initiated, some people vote "List at Afd" -- what does it mean? Is that something that I should do? (now, or wait until consensus?) Thank you! Oxda (talk) 19:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- They're suggesting that the article be restored and an articles for deletion discussion about it be initiated. Since it requires undeletion, only admins can do it. AfD's usually last five days, durring which you can work on improving the article to void the concerns of those who !vote that it be deleted. Happy editing. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 20:41, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Banjo-Kazooie:Sky's the Limit
Remember me!!! I created JG-E. Which by the way is deleted as you might see. Anyway I agree to deleting Banjo-Kazooie: Sky's the Limit. Yet again I created. Can you add the speedy deletion tag on it!!!!--Anfish (talk) 00:03, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you want it deleted you can just add a {{db-g7}} tag to it or blank the page. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 12:09, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
New Info on Deletion Review of Wallace Collins
Please look at :
This is to Review the deletion of the Wallace Collins, Esq page and to show that he does have Notoriety
His Notability & Notoriety is evident in that he has been cited in Major Newspaper and Music Trade Pubs, and he has made case Law in the Copyright and Trademark arenas.
Please look at his page if i did it wrong then i need someone to put a Wikipedia page up that knows what they are doing this is all very confusing to me.
http://www.wallacecollins.com/
Under his legal victories you can see the articles that have been reported on him such as; http://www.wallacecollins.com/la.html

These are just some examples. I have added this info on the Deletion Review page Thank you

I have read the Deletion reasons from Spellcaster and i find them to be unfair and he did not do his homework
He stated that he could only find a mirror of Wallace's website however i have it posted above and it is not a mirror .. He said he could not find articles and case law i have stated these then and above. and he could not find where Wallace was a recording artist i had not been able to put that up due to no puter for a week but here is that info and again Spellcaster did not do his her job and was snide about it to boot. His band was THE DYNOMITERS They were featured in 16 Magazine and other teen magazines and got press in the trades we were signed to Epic Records in 76 the most notable song was' "Rock & Roll President"'.
I believe that Spellcaster deleted this article without doing any checking and not caring and i would like it reinstated.
There was no reason for the comments in spellcasters remarks below:

Allegedly notable attorney. Looks more like an advert for his business (I've removed one more spammy part) Declined WP:CSD#A7 speedy. Pedro : Chat 09:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Delete I originally CSD tagged, but this was declined. While his clients may be notable, I'm not sure that their lawyer is necessarily. I couldn't find anything to verify notability beyond commercial sites with a google search. --Deadly∀ssassin 10:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Delete I searched for reliable secondary sources to establish notability, but was unable. In some cases, a notable client's attorney would be notable, however I do not think this is the case here. Lazulilasher (talk) 13:45, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Delete hastily, if not speedily - enough spam to make Hormel happy. "Article" written by a single-purpose account (in fact, all of this editor's contributions are to this article and the talk page). Assertion of "recording artist for Epic Records and then United Artists Records" not supported by any citations from reliable sources; much, if not all of content a mirror image of lawyer's web page. If the article is kept, it will need to be renamed per WP:MOS and the "Esq." removed. B.Wind (talk) 06:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

- I'm confused what you're trying to tell me here. Moreover, User:Spellcast closed the AfD, he didn't comment in it. It might've also been nice to notify him explicitly about the DRV. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 02:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your response on my DR. I was beginning to become disillusioned with the whole Wikipedia concept I so entusiastically embraced.Jheiv (talk) 01:22, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I believe the reference I have provided for optical granulometry and photoanalysis is a sufficient source of information. Also, how do I go about categorizing my information? This should be considered relevant to the mining industry.
Thanks,
Mark Wagner —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wipware (talk • contribs) 18:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you mean those to be sources, please change the title of the section they're in to "References". It avoids this sort of confusion. Also, it'd be helpful if you used inline citations, with <ref></ref> tags with these references.
- For the categorization and wikifying parts, just leave the tags up. There're people who go through and fix these problems. But removing the tags makes it much harder for them to be found. If you're interested in trying it yourself, add text like [[Category:BLAH]] to the bottom of the article. This will include the article in Category:BLAH. Cheers, and feel free to ask if you've got any more questions. I can be kinda' blunt in my edit summaries, but I'm always happy to help. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 18:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced?
After doing what you told me to in regards to referencing my articles in a new section, it is still saying that my entry is not properly cited. Can you check this over and see if I have completed it correctly? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
MarkWipware (talk) 14:05, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I've switched the tags to {{inline}} instead of {{norefs}}. Like I said above, using <ref></ref> tags in the body text to cite sources for each of the refs would be nice. But this isn't as large a problem. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 14:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Maybe a bit hasty declining the speedy? It is also blatant advertising and was created by a blocked user who now appears to be using a sock to embellish it. Harry the Dog WOOF 16:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see that it's a sock. The talk page has no logs and is his own. He was just blocked a few days ago, and it seems to only have been account creation. Beyond that, declining the speedy was appropriate, given that it does not make A7. I won't touch the one now up, but I bet a decent article can be made out of it. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 16:33, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well they can ivestigate the sock issue. The only claim to notability the band had was unsourced. If it really is a notable band, someone will recreate the article with proper references. Harry the Dog WOOF 16:39, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I think I will. I'm going to go ask Gwen Gale, who deleted it, to userfy it for me. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 16:42, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Stillwater deletion
Hi. Normally, I'd agree with you, but this has already been deleted three times as nearly incomprehensible nonsense by an out-and-out vandal with gibberish for a username. With all due respect, I'd like to request that the speedy be restored. This person has been disrupting the site for nearly an hour. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:38, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, there are other channels for that. Try taking it to WP:ANI. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 02:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Already did. Left word on AIV as well. Someone else had suggested making it a redirect to an existing article on the place, so, I've taken the liberty to do so. Thanks for your help and suggestions. Kids and computers don't always mix; at least we have a plausible if unlikely redirect. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:42, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hope it's cleared up, then. Happy editing. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 02:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I think so. The redirect might be of some help and I'll let an admin deal with the username and the 3RR. Take care. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:44, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Seafield Convent Grammar
Lifebaka,
Sorry to bother you but I own the copyright to the material on Seafield Grammar School. I wanted to release the information to as many people as possible as there is very little information available on the school on the internet. All the information on Wikipedia and my webiste is my own, and thus there are no sources as information has been collected from primary sources and not books or online articles. I apologise for what has happened as I am not very experienced on Wikipedia. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this as I do not want the info to be deleted because of my ineptitude on Wikipedia.
Apologies,
Dustybooks89 (talk) 14:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- It shouldn't be deleted, but only... shortened, if we can't establish that everything's cool about it. The case is over at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2008 June 2/Articles and you can make your case there. Or it might be simpler to just go to Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission and sort it out there. Either way, you've got some time (more on the former, I think). Cheers! --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 14:28, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Relisting Deletion Reviews
It is an unusual move, but precedented. I did a bunch of them (sometimes as many as 3 a day) back in and around March of 2007. At that time, we had a primary DRV closer who closed almost everything on day 6 or 5. If it needed more input, we'd relist at that point. Right now we don't have a primary closer, nor are we quite as timely on closing. I think that is a mixed blessing... multiple closers is good, but being less timely isn't so good. Where does it say [2] is in the public domain? Linking to a federal webpage at the bottom doesn't mean it's public domain. --Rividian (talk) 15:36, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- The homepage has a link at the bottom labeled "Web Site Policies". From there you can access the copyright information. I am assuming that they're not lying there, of course. That help? --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 15:44, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- The "web site policies" link goes to a different website though, [3], which is a federal gov. website. The domain hosting the text though is "brdisolutions.com" which doesn't seem to contain a public domain release. --Rividian (talk) 15:49, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- The home page states that it's "administered by the Designated Federal Officer at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Liaison as U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).", which is good enough for me. I won't stop a slower process, but I believe public domain is well enough established to stop a G12. If you'd like, feel free to ask an admin to look into it. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 15:56, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hah I assumed you were an admin... you seem pretty knowledgeable. I dunno, it's vague enough that I don't feel like challenging the copyright. The page itself seems to need work even if the copyright isn't a problem. --Rividian (talk) 16:10, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Like I said, I won't oppose a slower process or anything not based on the copyright. The board might not be notable. For always knowing who is and isn't an admin, I recomend adding
importScript('User:Ais523/adminrights.js');
to your monobook.js page. It'll highlight links to the user: and user talk: pages of admins. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 16:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello . I have a proposition I'd like to run by you:
What if wikipedia's information was divided into categories that of which we as wikipedians could have captains for and each category would be that captains area to watch for vandals and then bust them. Think of it, no more would wikipedia be ridiculed for being to unreliable, instead making it a utopia for reliable information. We could have a counsel to reign over us and such. We'd be in shadows of each domain waiting for vandals and then we'd bust them! It could be marvelous. Though it would not change wikipedia's information. Tell me what you think for this is the vandal buster neoonyxalchemist. Just think as founders we'd be making Wikipedia history. Come look at my page for more info. Neoonyxalchemist1 22:39 7 June 2008
- I'm not thinkin' it'd be that useful overall. We've already got vandal fighting pretty well down, what with the RC patrol, watchlists, and the bots runnin'. As for having captains, I don't really like it. We don't currently have anthing like it. We've got admins, sure, but being an admin is no big deal, so it's not at all the same. Besides, it sounds like each of these "captains" wouldn't do anything more than regular users do, only watching the articles in whichever articles they're assigned to instead of only the ones they like (or randomly have watchlisted). The intent is good, but the idea probably won't go anywhere. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 14:29, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
Deletion review for List of environmental websites
You chimed in at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2008_June_8#List_of_environmental_websites with a vote of "overturn". I just wanted to make sure you'd based that on the right AfD, since the nominator had initially linked to the AfD for List of environmental periodicals, not List of environmental websites, which is what this DR is for. eaolson (talk) 02:38, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Swedish auction
I think the original author knows some stuff about auctions, but hasn't figured out yet how to fit them into encyclopedic articles. My feeling about "Swedish auction" is that there's some material there which could be usefully added to other articles. And there's still a chance that it deserves its own article, though I haven't seen justification for it yet. Cretog8 (talk) 14:50, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Alien primary source
For some odd reason my DVD disc is skipping, but anyway my DVD of the Aliens Special Edition includes a scene in which Ripley is handed a photograph of her daughter. The photograph includes the deceased daughter's "DB" and "DECEASED" dates (years, months, days). The dialogue says that the daughter died 2 years prior to the events in which the scene takes place and the DVD description text says Aliens takes place 57 years after Alien. Also, if you watch the next scene in which Ripley is talking with all of the company types and look at the screen with green letters, you will see dates included in that text as well. I'll have to watch all the movies again to see if there are other such inclusion of dates as well and again would have to check again if they match the article's dates, but in any event, there are at least two scenes in the special edition of Aliens that do in fact satisfy that aspect of the primary source element by displaying specific dates down to the days and months even. Ref to this edit, of course the article is A1 ! Look at the first line : Barkha Bisht is an actress who is also a talk host on some show - Amog | Talk • contribs 13:31, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but A1 is for articles that say things like "He has red hair", not that. I have no objection to a PROD or AfD. Some other CSD may also apply, but I'd caution against choosing A7. That same sentence is an assertion of importance, if a pretty bad one. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 13:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

- You know, you're probably right there. If it listed the show, that'd be different, but as written that doesn't assert importance. I still disagree with the A1, but the A7 will probably go through. RFA
Drop me a note on my talk page once you have answered the questions and I will have a look over them. Davewild (talk) 17:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've had a very quick look now and the answers look good, I will have another look tonight (UK time) when I have more time and have another look through your contributions just to make sure there is nothing that has been missed, then it should be good to go. Davewild (talk) 07:07, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- A couple of very minor points, in your answer to question 1, you say 'I plan to continue my work on at WP:DRV', I think the 'on' should be removed there. Question 1 also has quite a few shortcuts, some editors dislike overuse of shortcuts so would suggest converting a couple of them like WP:LSD to [[WP:LSD|the list of speedy deletions]] just to be on the safe side. In question 3 there is an end to a sentence saying 'and appeared to attempted to solicit help outing these users' - I think it should be attempt not attempted. Other than that looks good.
- I have had another look back through your last 1,500 contributions and talk page archives and can't see any real problems. Once the couple of minor fixes are sorted then, if you are happy, you can trancslude you RFA to the main page. You can see the instructions on how to do this here - Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/nominate#What to do if you are nominated by someone else - don't forget to correct the time and date of when the RFA will end as it says there. Then all I can say is good luck. Davewild (talk) 18:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Good luck with the nomination but I doubt you will need it.. I think you will make a fine admin although I'm struggling to think of a good enough inducement to get you to be a bit more deletionist. ;-) Spartaz Humbug! 21:57, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

- Man, that really makes my talk page long. You'll have to forgive me, but I commented out most of it. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 19:43, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Congratulation
This congratulating comment is not a sarcasm or bad-faith fake comment toward your successful RFA. I've seen you working around and, clearly your contributions impress many good and respectable people. I appear to be the only person to oppose you because not only the WP:DRV, but also my usual impression on you is not stronger than your name, baka. I don't know whether it holds other meanings, but indicates fool or dumb in Japanese.... This may sound silly to you, but you will see my pickiness over username like this. Regardless of my opposition, you become an administrator with a lot of supports. I believe that you would do not dismay people in future. Anyway, I appreciate your interest in some dispute with somebody. Regards --Caspian blue (talk) 20:39, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I can see where you are coming from on this one. I don't think my name violates the username policy (simply because no one has brought it up before), but it is always possible that someone could misconstrue it to mean something about them. Back when I came up with it (five, six years ago), I probably would've said that the "baka" part referred to me, but now I use it mostly because I've been using it for so long and (last I checked) I monopolize google on it. I'd be happy to change my name if enough people do find it offensive, but it'd kinda' be a hassle. Cheers. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 20:49, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

- Have to say congrats, too. I don't know you that well, but from what I have seen of your work, the admin status is definitely well-deserved. IceUnshattered (talk) 17:23, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
