Dirty Laundry (Bitter:Sweet)
Thanks for the prompt reply. Apparently I'd need to be logged-in for four days before the move tab you mention will appear on my screen. So if you have the time could you do it? Thank you in advance. 92.41.227.152 (talk) 11:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just Dirty Laundry without the quotation marks please. Thank you. 92.41.227.152 (talk) 12:50, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hello again, on further reflection would it better for you to change the article headline on my submission to ... Dirty Laundry (song Bitter:Sweet) ... and change the headline of the article on the Don Henley song of the same name to ... Dirty Laundry (song Don Henley) ... or to ... Dirty Laundry (song 2006) ... and ... Dirty Laundry (song 1982) .... As both formattings seem to have been used to distinguish between songs of the same name elsewhere. Once again thank you very much for your help. 92.40.108.241 (talk) 04:45, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I just saw it.
That way is neater and less redundant.
Which is why I hadn't thought of it.
92.40.171.176 (talk) 09:31, 29 October 2008 (UTC)- Nope. The edit to Bitter:Sweet at 6.43am on monday morning was the first time I'd thought of doing anything to Wikipedia.
Rather than just reading it.
92.40.171.176 (talk) 09:57, 29 October 2008 (UTC)- And lo, verily he was welcomed.

- Hi there, It wasn't off topic. It was just me. After I got your welcome I signed up as this.
By the way I saw your revert on Aloha Air Cargo, are you kamaina?
BarbarianHorde (talk) 09:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)- Aloha, (by the way it occurs to me that if you are not kamaina you might not know what kamaina is :) , its just hawaiian for a hawaiian local) I notice that Dirty Laundry (Bitter:Sweet) is still on hold. I added the link to the IMDB as a response to the request for independent sources for notability. I tend to think of the IMDB as gospel for credits like this but Im not sure how Wikipedia feels about them. I also put the YouTube link in (Just for fun!) and I'm about to put in a link to an AdTunes article and a promo on their labels site with the whole song streamed. You'll probably recognise it, its been used eveywhere and it shares a horn section sample from Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul's Breathe (which was a huge worldwide hit in 2003), but used to completely different effect. Once again thank you very much for your help. Ps. I'm not surprised you missed my switch from IP address to signed up. I was watching the section below here developing. Some things can just sap your entire will to live can't they. All the best.BarbarianHorde (talk) 08:31, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've finished the rewrite, additions, independent sources and inline citations. If you get a chance, give it a glance and let me know if there is anything more to do (there seems to be a big backlog on Submissions so I don't think anybody else is going to get to it soon otherwise). By the way forget the kamaina question, I just saw the ICS mention below and that answers it.BarbarianHorde (talk) 15:49, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Nice of you to say so. My four days aren't up yet, so I don't have the full range of tabs/edit powers and MSGJ has opened a debate on it's notability under the WP:MUSIC special circumstances guidelines, so I'll probably wait to see if a concensus can be reached before moving ahead with that. By the way, I took the liberty of adding the 'e' back to 'advice' (typo) in your admin. app. (when I corrected a couple of other's spellings), as you had accidentally knocked it off when you added the second sentence.
All the best, BarbarianHorde (talk) 13:02, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I did follow your suggestion and started it myself after a few final tweaks. I really appreciate your help in getting my first wholly authored article from Submission to Acceptance by myself. All the best, BarbarianHorde (talk) 09:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Mucho thanks, for The Special Barnstar for boldness, wow that thing is colourful!
I'm off to read the instructions on where to stick it! BarbarianHorde (talk) 10:52, 3 November 2008 (UTC)- Thanks for the link. I had lots of fun duplicating the barnstar to my new user page and tinkering with the code. I think I've got it just right now:
BarbarianHorde (heh!heh!). By the way, love your new (stalk me?) link,
I only just got that! BarbarianHorde (talk) 15:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Lies
Lies! You are wholly half-right. I concede that quote WTF unquote is possibly vandalism, nevertheless you cannot be certain that the song has never been finished, ergo, citation needed, am I right? Yesno? 66.183.175.134 (talk) 10:03, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- More lies! And assumption on your part. F could stand for fudge, futz, or even Finagle, depending on what, if any, science-fiction you've been reading recently. I stand by my edit. The assertion that no one has ever finished that song is sorely lacking under WP:V. 66.183.175.134 (talk) 10:12, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- I am calm inside, it is simply that my heart rate is high because you are towing me on my lollerskates behind your Wikibigrig. Per your second point, W = what and T = the. Just because someone replaces profanity with a euphemism doesn't mean they can't employ those euphemisms the same way they would ordinary profanity. Hence, Via...but I won't bother. Finally, just because you use the phrase "no offence" doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want. It's not about looking smart(er), it's about proving or disproving whether or not that song has ever been finished. I submit that it can't be proven or disproved either way, and so the assertion that it hasn't been should be removed. 66.183.175.134 (talk) 10:23, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- I might misunderstand: is your question why or why not? And the explanation for "what the" is that an F by itself would probably not have been recognized as taking exception to the assertion in question, whereas "WTF" is a well-known abbreviation no matter what the ending. I suppose I could have said "WTS" but that would probably have caused more offence than WTF did. Oh the irony. 66.183.175.134 (talk) 10:34, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- You know, in good faith, I feel a little violated that you called me out on the "WTF" issue - which should really not have been an issue, given that I didn't actually spell out the F-word in all of its glory, so it ain't actually profanity - yet my actual point, that the song had in fact been finished before those two guys recorded themselves or whatever, was ignored.
- Even if it hadn't been finished, there is no way to confirm that it hadn't been finished. Says right there underneath this edit box, encyclopedic content must be verifiable. They've even bolded "verifiable". So you tell me exactly where it can be cited that that song had NEVER (ever) been finished until Bob Whatever and Joe Sixpack there got 'er done.
- TL; DR: suddenly, a challenger appears! 66.183.175.134 (talk) 04:55, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Can you provide some insight at Talk:Australian hardcore#Dont Delete as to why you tagged the article on Australian hardcore for speedy deletion. Clearly it does not qualify. -- Longhair\talk 10:12, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- I thought it may have been an automated mistake as such. No harm done. It just confused a few of us, that's all :) -- Longhair\talk 10:28, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Well welcome to Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes! It is a fun little project! - Ahunt (talk) 12:24, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note. Yeah US law doesn't allow "fair use" of copyrighted images in such applications as user boxes. Essentially they are limited to articles on the subject of the logo, etc.
- I like the second Crystal-clear Firefox-like logo! Image:Crystal Clear app firefox.png I think it is nicer than the actual Mozilla logo! You might want to have a look at the current page of browser user boxes to see if what you are thinking of creating has already been done. There are quite a lot of Firefox user boxes there now. If not you will want to add it to the same page! - Ahunt (talk) 13:42, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
RE: ICS Image
Yeah, I'm a 9th grader there, who's a band suck-up, who actually likes Mrs Chromik, who mainly likes classical music, and who's supposed to be a good student. Hope that didn't put you off. :-)Vltava 68 (talk contribs) 02:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

That should be specific enough so that I know whether you're right without telling the whole world my name, seeing this is the internet. I'll put in my guess later, maybe through the IP thingy if I don't log in. Vltava 68 (talk contribs) 12:04, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Vltava 68 (talk contribs) 12:04, 2 November 2008 (UTC) By the way, I changed my signature, from the IP one, since that's more clear who I am. I'll try to find a logo, if I have the time. I'm curious! Do tell... --Dweller (talk) 12:52, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Why did you remove the date stamp? --Dweller (talk) 12:58, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Interesting. Learn something every day. As a Crat, I'd be somewhat perturbed if no-one date-stamped their contribs to RfA, as it could make it difficult to follow. Perhaps the key is that RfA is not a vote? --Dweller (talk) 13:11, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's a fair point, but you do, occasionally get "pure" votes on-wiki (though I can't think of any off the top of my head - I used to vote frequently at a page that collected votes for article collaboration, but that's long since died a death). I don't really know enough about the Tutorial pages to consider wading in with size 9s, but I would visit the tutorial talk page and leave a message if lots of people !voted at RfA without datestamps. --Dweller (talk) 13:27, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Re:Admin coaching
Hi. I actually have a wait list of two users (Sunderland06 and Cyclonenim) right now, so I'm basically full--just waiting for Sunderland06 to give the green light. If you would like, I could add you to my wait list, or you could go with another admin coach. If you wished to get another coach, I would suggest Bibliomaniac15, my own coach and now a bureaucrat. In the meantime, I'll give you a few tips to improve your editing if you wish to remain on my wait list:
- Always use an edit summary. Right now you're doing good, but there were a few edits last month that went by without a summary.
- Edit articles for content. Your most edited article has only 10 edits to it. Maybe try to get a GA or DYK.
- Participate in deletion discussions and get a feel for what goes on there. AFD is a good place to start.
- Volunteer at the help desk
- Do more than fight vandalism. Your last 500 edits are almost all geared toward vandal-fighting. You should broaden your horizons a bit.
- I also noticed almost all of your last 500 edits are marked minor when many should not be. Perhaps you have the feature "mark every edit of mine as minor" turned on. For more information, see this.
Good luck and happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 23:18, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

ICS article
I've moved it to International Christian School of Hong Kong; as there's apparently an article for a school with a very similar name in Hungary. Vltava 68 (talk contribs) 08:29, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- I tried moving it immediately after I posted that message above, but could not. I then repaired the redirect of the title you suggested, but it still didn't work, so I tried simply requesting a move instead. (I realized that some people would think that "of Hong Kong" is part of the school's name. I forgot about this when looking at the Budapest article, since I thought they meant "in Budapest". Oh well.) Vltava 68 (talk contribs) 08:56, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

A special mention goes out to Stwalkerster and Pedro for nominating me, thanks a lot for having trust in me! In response to the neutrals, I will try to double check articles that have been tagged for speedy deletion before I CSD them and will start off slowly with the drama boards of ANI and AN to ensure that I get used to them. In response to the oppose !votes on my RfA, I will check that any images I use meet the non-free content criteria and will attempt to handle any disputes or queries as well as I can. Hi, could you help me with the formatting for City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong? I want the musicians section to be in as many columns as possible to save space and make reading it easier. If you have the time, would you mind looking at it? I'm sure that we could actually add more useful information. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised that it hasn't been deleted yet. (I'm busy with an Algebra test and a speech, though I hope I'm not placing any pressure on you to help with that particular article.) --Vltava 68 (contribs) 09:32, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Toyah Willcox
Hello there.
How come my edits to Toyah Willcox were reverted? I thought they were good for additonal information.
Milo.
Not sure how to reply, so I hope you see this.
Basically, it says now that Toyah Willcox had said she was doing a Vampire Rock opera show; I merely elaborated on it :)
Liberty High School, WV
I made further edits to the page for Liberty High School (west virginia) you marked for quick delete. I hope I improved it to the point that it meets standards not to be deleted. All the rival high schools in the area have a wikipedia entry and I feel left out. I have not used a talk page like this before so i hope i did it right. Garkeith (talk)
Stop the patrols - the beer has arrived
Have a week beer on me.
Let the amber nectar flow all day and night. Let it run down the mountains and through the caverns and across the rich lawns to swamp the streets. Let it rain beer. Let the heavens open and shine forth beer. Let it all be beer. Wonderful beer. And let it be as deep as the heart of a lion.

Thank you for participating in my RfA
I just wanted to take a moment to say "thank you" for taking the time and effort to participate in my recent RfA. As you may know, the discussion closed 66/0/1 and I'm now a holder of the mop. I will keep working to improve the encyclopedia and appreciate the trust which you have placed in me. - Dravecky (talk) 23:16, 1 December 2008 (UTC) Leujohn/Archive 2 ({{{type}}}) at Anime News Network's encyclopedia
