- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!
Hello, Leorockkk, and thank you for your contributions!
I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, A Bittersweet Nostalgia, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Vishal Gupta. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:
- a link to the article you copied from
- the date you copied it
You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.
If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.
Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 13:04, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
The article Vishal Gupta has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:
- All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Malcolma (talk) 11:17, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
The article A Bittersweet Nostalgia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- There is no indication or evidence of notability in the article, and I can find no such evidence.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:48, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I have created a page A Bittersweet Nostalgia which is in relation to a published novel.
I have provided relevant information at the bottom of that article's page with links to the publisher's website, author's website, Amazon where the book is available, Barnes and Nobles and the ISBN code and real references for notability.
- And, I had accidentally created a page much earlier Vishal Gupta which is about the author of A Bittersweet Nostalgia
I understand the page on Vishal Gupta needs to be deleted due to no notability and I understand that. But for the novel's article I have provided sufficient links.
- Here are the links to the website's of the published material once again. In the coming month of so there will be more information on Google Books too.
Thank you.

- I am just a page lurker, but I have a couple of suggestions. It would help if you put in some in line references, and particularly references to third part WP:RS such as reviews, interviews, and commentary. This would go a long way toward establishing WP:Notability, which seems to be part of the hang up. Hope that helps. In the fuure, please sign your posts using four tildes ("~") 7&6=thirteen (☎) 19:36, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Thank you for your reply. But I have already put in plenty of line references at the very bottom of the page where it states References and External Links. Isn't that good enough for Wikipedia to click on those links and check the external websites.
I have another one for you here... This is the press release... http://www.prlog.org/12021668-bittersweet-nostalgia-introspective-novel-searches-for-answers-on-the-road-called-life.html
Thank you.

Speedy deletion nomination of A Bittersweet Nostalgia
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on A Bittersweet Nostalgia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 08:40, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- While this is up for a PROD deletion, I'm speedying it because it is written to read more like an advertisement for the book than a neutral article. I did a search and couldn't find anything to show that it passes notability guidelines either, sadly. Merchant sites such as Amazon or links to the publisher's website are not usable as reliable sources that show notability. They show that the book exists, but not that it is particularly notable at this point in time. Don't feel bad about that- it's incredibly hard for indie books to receive in-depth notice in reliable sources, especially in India. (I know this because I've contributed to several articles for Indian authors and books, only for the sources to be few and far between.) What I can do for you is move a copy of the article into your userspace, where you can work on it for the time being until it passes WP:NBOOK. (User:Leorockkk/A Bittersweet Nostalgia)
- Now as far as passing the notability guidelines for a book, you'll have to provide sources that are both independent of the book and reliable. What this usually means is that the book has to have received reviews from people, news sites, or websites that Wikipedia considers to be reliable. An example of some sources would be Library Journal, New York Times, or Publishers Weekly, among others. News or television spots where the book is predominantly featured would also count towards notability. Primary sources such as the publisher's website or a press release would not show notability. They can sometimes be used to back up trivial facts such as a release date or publisher, but they will never show notability.
- When it comes to writing an article for something, you've always got to be careful about how it is perceived by others. While you did come on here to post about your book and yourself, I don't think that you meant it to be an article that was 100% promotional. Even so, people posting about themselves tend to get viewed with suspicion, so it's always good to have another user help you. This will bring in an uninvolved second party that can catch things that you might otherwise miss. I'm willing to help, but if this book was published in India then it might be better for you to get someone from WP:INDIA, the India WikiProject, as they will be able to access sources that I would be unaware of or unable to read.
- In any case, I hope this helps!Tokyogirl79 (talk) 08:40, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
