Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Abadía de Rufford. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Rufford Abbey. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Rufford Abbey – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Valenciano (talk) 19:07, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

- Hi Leito.Cmj, I'm DanCherek and I am a Wikipedia administrator. I realize that it has been frustrating to see the text at Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk removed and redacted, especially after you said that tudorpalace.com.ar has given you the authorization to use it on Wikipedia. However, we have an established protocol at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online that editors need to follow in situations like these. Essentially, the copyright holder can either modify their website to indicate that the material is compatibly licensed, or they can correspond with a Wikipedia volunteer who is a part of a team called the Volunteer Response Team (VRT), who will confirm that they are the copyright owner and have taken the necessary steps. One of those two verification procedures needs to happen before the text on that website can be added to any article. It's not that we disbelieve you, but this is needed to ensure that all protocols are properly followed. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 23:39, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

- Hello @Deepfriedokra the blockade was a fair measure but I feel that I have already fulfilled my punishment, I am ready to rejoin and I have sworn that I will never commit Copyright violations again because I have already read the Wikipedia rules and now I am going to comply with those rules with great devotion and responsibility , while also respecting fellow Wikipedians. And I write in both languages (in English and in my native Spanish) because I express myself better in Spanish, being South American. My English is kind of clumsy. Hello, Leito.Cmj, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. - The guy uploaded a portrait of a woman that remains unnamed as the Duchess of Norfolk. I’ve had to edit several pages and take the portrait out. Lady Meg (talk) 16:14, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Lady Meg the portrait was uploaded by the user @LuisCanelo.MJ and by the way there is some advice for Luis: the next time you upload a portrait, check the source if it is about such a person or not, because they can suspend you from Wikipedia. It's good advice, don't take it badly or anything, it's just advice so that you do better and have a better relationship with Wikipedians. Greetings. Leito.Cmj (talk) 17:05, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello people @Lady Meg @Leito.Cmj and fellow Wikipedians, good afternoon from this side of the world. I admit I made a mistake, but I was mainly guided by this video on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YStjSMK_Sxc . If the video is unreliable, let me know and I will try not to watch any more sites with unreliable sources. Greetings from Chile. LuisCanelo.MJ (talk) 17:23, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- Those videos on that channel are like sensational videos. There’s no source confirming the identity of that portrait in the video. I still don’t understand where the portrait came from. Did you take a screenshot? There is no portrait of the Duchess by Joos Ban Cleve. The guy was living in Antwerp. Don’t think he ever went to England. Lady Meg (talk) 07:12, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

- Hello @Lady Meg good morning from this part of the world. As a historian and university history professor (I also clarify that I have Howard family ancestry from my maternal grandmother, descending from the Effingham branch) I am always guided by other study webpages like this one: https://thefreelancehistorywriter.com/2017 /08/25/elizabeth-stafford-duchess-of-norfolk/ . The same portrait is also on that webpage. Knowing and contributing about my ancestral family is great and if I made a mistake, I want to remedy it so I don't have problems and look good with fellow Wikipedians since I use Wikipedia a lot to prepare the papers that I later give to the students of the chair in which I teach (world history) in Legal Law (Legal Sciences or Bar) at the Universidad Católica de Chile. Greetings from Santiago de Chile. LuisCanelo.MJ (talk) 09:09, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- Why are you boasting about something that probably can’t be proved? I’m so tired of people claiming descent from these people because the internet says so. If you actually GO TO THE website you provided you will see that she labels the portrait: “Portrait of a Woman, dated 1520 by the Netherlandish painter Joos van Cleve (1507-1541)” I personally know the author. Lady Meg (talk) 06:26, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Good morning @Lady Meg, I do not brag or brag about anything and lately I have been doing things well so as not to have problems with fellow Wikipedians who contribute so much to this beautiful encyclopedia, which helps me a lot to prepare the study topics that I later deliver to my students of the chair (World History) where I teach, within the framework of the Legal Sciences career (law) at the Catholic University of Chile. Greetings from Santiago de Chile.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Agnes Howard, Duchess of Norfolk into Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Ninja Diannaa (Talk) 14:54, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

- Hola @Diannaa good evening, with all due respect I think it is unfair that the user @Leito.Cmj who has made so many contributions about my ancestral Howard family (I am very surprised of what he knows, which is a lot and I congratulate to him for that big knowledge) is going to be blocked for copyright violation.
- Do you know how many authorship violations I saw on Wikipedia? Many and many of those publications turn a blind eye.

- Now you've committed yet another copyright violation; this time, you blatantly stole a copyrighted image from the internet and uploaded it as your own work, and then added it to an article. My patience is fast wearing out with your repeated copyright violations. Any further ones and I will be reporting you to ANI for an indefinite block. Again, this is your last warning. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:38, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Trainsandotherthings good evening, it is unfair that this user is blocked for something that he could have done innocently and perhaps hastily, without realizing the consequences. Many times we make rude mistakes and we regret it, but a mistake is not a reason for blocking. From mistakes you have to learn to never make them again. CarlosSwinforeHoward (talk) 03:00, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

- @Trainsandotherthings you are right yes, doing things rashly yes, it is ugly and brings adverse consequences. Once again I apologize for my bad behavior. Leito.Cmj (talk) 14:39, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

If you guarantee me the help to leave, you will do me the best and biggest favour of my life. Leito.Cmj (talk) 17:54, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- If you want to leave, then just log out, simple as that. If you wish to edit at any point in the future, you will need to log back in and appeal the block on this account (as editing without logging in, or creating a new account, will be considered block evasion). DanCherek (talk) 17:58, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- @DanCherek thank you very much for the answer. Maybe in the future I will appeal the block but for now I will be retiring from Wikipedia for a long, long time. Greetings Leito.Cmj (talk) 18:07, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @DanCherek I just made the appeal of the existing block, where I took the task of writing both in English and in my native Spanish, commenting that I have already learned from the error and if it is unblocked, I will be a productive member of the community, adding more information to the existing articles and taking care not to stumble again because I already learned the situation.
- To many of those who were angry with me for having incurred in what led to my being blocked, I comment that I perfectly understand the anger and concerns about what happened, I became aware of it and you will see that from the moment I am unblocked I will be a very productive member of the Wikipedia community.
- It was a fair and exemplary punishment, but I have already learned and I sincerely apologize for my mistakes and I will not make them again.

- Parts of your unblock request below were copied from WIPO without the required attribution (the text on that website is licensed under CC BY 4.0), so I think you still have a lot of learning to do before you're ready to contribute. Wikipedia:Copyright violations, Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources, Wikipedia:Plagiarism, Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing, for starters. Plus, there's the question of why these issues persisted after the first five copyright warnings for which you were not blocked? You will need to present a convincing case for why this time is different than the others. DanCherek (talk) 04:20, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @DanCherek I thought that the threats and warnings were not going to be fulfilled but well, unfortunately they were fulfilled due to my ignorance and total lack of responsibility, which luckily I already left behind because I do not want to stumble again and make the same mistakes that led to the blockade.
- Regarding the wording of the text on Copyright and what is Copyright, yes, I copied a part to have a better reference and light on the subject, but well, copyright is governed by different laws, whether lax or harsh in each country. Here in Argentina the legislation in force on the subject is very lax, I don't know what regulations Wikipedia is governed by, but hey, I will prepare a better text written by hand with my own words on the subject and I will present it later.
- I know and fully understand that you are angry and concerned with me for the situation but believe me, you will see that I will be a better member once I am unblocked.
I write in both English and my native Spanish, expressing myself better in my language. Hello @DanCherek according to the legislation in force here in Argentina (Law 11723 - LEGAL REGIME OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY) on Copyright, enacted for the first time in January 1966 and updated by the Congress (Parliament) of the Nation in 1998, in its article 1st says: For the purposes of this Law, scientific, literary and artistic works They include writings of all kinds and lengths, among them the programs of source and object computing; compilations of data or other materials; the works dramatic, musical, dramatic-musical compositions; the cinematographic ones, choreographic and pantomimic; works of drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture; models and works of art or science applied to commerce or industry; forms, plans and maps; plastics, photographs, engravings and phonograms, in short, all scientific production, literary, artistic or didactic, regardless of the method of reproduction. Copyright protection will cover the expression of ideas, procedures, methods of operation and mathematical concepts but not those ideas, procedures, methods and concepts themselves.
In its articles 3, 4, 5, 5 bis, 6 and 9, Argentine Copyright legislation basically states that the copyright holders are the author(s) of the work, their heirs or successors in title and those who, with with the permission of the author and/or his heirs, translate, reimburse, adapt, modify or transport it over the resulting new intellectual work, and no one shall have the right to publish, without the permission of the authors or their successors, a scientific, literary production , artistic or musical that has been written down or copied during its reading, performance or public or private exhibition. In the case of videos, photos or music, whoever has received a special license from the authors or their right-holders to use said works, may make a single backup copy of original copies thereof. (Paragraph incorporated in the update made in 1998).
If knowing the current legislation in my country on Copyright and having learned from it so as not to make the mistakes I made again helps me so that it can be unlocked, welcome. If it doesn't do me any good, well I'll throw in the towel and give up for good and retire from this beautiful community.
Leito.Cmj (talk) 15:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- The Wikimedia Foundation is headquartered in San Francisco and is governed by U.S. copyright law, as explained at Wikipedia:Copyrights. All editors need to adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines on copyright and plagiarism (linked above), regardless of where they are personally based. That means that an editor living in Argentina, is subject to the same policies and guidelines as one living in the U.S., or Europe, or Africa or anywhere else. Also, I notice that you have been editing the text of your already-declined unblock request below. To make a new unblock request for consideration, you will need to use a new {{unblock}} template, rather than simply edit the old one. DanCherek (talk) 23:48, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thank for the info. I have not studied American Copyright laws that well. The Copyright law of my country if I have studied it almost perfectly, but I am going to study those US laws and from there prepare the way to make a new appeal, with the hope of being successful this time. Leito.Cmj (talk) 03:59, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- No one is asking you to study the law. You do need to demonstrate an understanding of copyright-related Wikipedia policies and guidelines, which I have linked above. DanCherek (talk) 04:40, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- OK @DanCherek It's late now here in Argentina, tomorrow I'll take my time when I leave class (I'm a teacher) and I'll prepare the appeal. Greetings. Leito.Cmj (talk) 05:30, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- I just wrote the appeal in both my native Spanish and English, where I argued that I learned from the mistakes I made (ignoring the warnings about repeated Copyright violation among other gross mistakes) that led to my being punished with the blocking, and where I already swore that I will never make such mistakes again. I have little hope of success with this new request but hey, hope is the last thing to lose. Leito.Cmj (talk) 01:48, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @DanCherek good afternoon, I already presented very strong arguments in the last appeal where I recognized the mistakes made and swore and promised never to make them again and from the moment the blockade is lifted, I will adhere very devotedly to the rules of the Wikipedia community so as not to fall into the same pit of errors again.
- I hope the blockade is lifted although I have little hope of success with this new request, hope is the last thing that is lost.

- Hello @DanCherek good afternoon, since all my unlock requests (the last ones I made correctly and with clear answers) were all rejected, this time I appeal to the good heart of the administrators to unlock me.
- I fully understand that many administrators were angry and outraged with me for my reckless attitude, but I have learned my lesson.
- I am not going to ask for mercy because I understood that the blockade was a fair measure, something that I also accepted and I recognize that it was fair, because my reckless attitude could have put Wikipedia in danger of receiving legal actions, but I have already learned my lesson and I deserve a new opportunity. is closed. So very many words, none of which address the reason for the block. As this is the English language Wikipedia, it would probably be for the best if user refrains from posting in Spanish. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

- You need to clearly and concisely describe what you will and will not do to not introduce copyrighted material to Wikipedia.
- In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words: What is copyright? How is Wikipedia licensed? Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked.
- Thank you for your prompt, clear, and concise attention to this matter. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:14, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

- Hello @Yamla good evening, I made too many requests because apparently they are ignoring or not accepting my humble unlock request. I recognized the mistakes that led to it being blocked, but I deserve one more chance, ¿maybe those of us who have been blocked (I'm not the only one, there are many people who, like me, recklessly made the serious mistake of committing a Copyright violation) don't deserve another chance? I fully understand that many administrators were angry and outraged with me for my reckless attitude, but I have learned my lesson.

Request reason:
Good afternoon people, presented this new unblocking appeal, having little hope of success but with clear and concise answers I prepared these answers, mainly from the fact of why I deserve to be unblocked:
I request this because I understood the mistakes I made, I understood that the blocking was not a punishment but rather a fair and necessary measure, something that I also accepted and I recognize that it was fair, because my reckless and foolish attitude could have put Wikipedia in serious danger of legal action for Copyright violation, but I have learned my lesson and I deserve a new opportunity.
I fully understand that many administrators were angry and indignant with me for my reckless attitude, but I have learned my lesson.
To all those who were angry with me @DanCherek, @Trainsandotherthings, @Diannaa and many others, I heartily apologize for everything I caused and I appeal to your good faith and willingness to accept me once again here on Wikipedia.
With this sincere and humble request I hope to be unblocked soon. I will not commit any more copyright violations as I have learned from my mistakes.
Greetings. Leonardo Crisantelmo
Decline reason:
It's fine to say that you will never make copyright violations again, but in order to know that for certain you must demonstrate an understanding of copyright as it pertains to Wikipedia. You haven't done that yet. You have improved some in that you recognize that copyright violations potentially put Wikipedia in legal jeopardy, but this doesn't guarantee that the behavior will not repeat, so I must decline your request. 331dot (talk) 13:25, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
Good evening, I once again present this new appeal to the block that has existed on my user since October 2023 for reasons already known. I have understood and perfectly accepted that the block was a fair and necessary measure to avoid getting Wikipedia into trouble, as I have read in the available articles on copyright, and the serious consequences that come with constant copyright violations.
Along with this, I want to sincerely apologize to the administrators whom I offended greatly. As I have already said, I swear that I will never violate copyright again and to avoid falling into the same problem again, I will use only short quotes for edits, in accordance with Wikipedia's non-free content policy and guideline I know perfectly well that copyright violation is a serious matter, and as I have said, I will never make that serious mistake again.
I also admit to have tried to circumvent the block by creating (under the same IP) secondary accounts in very bad faith, but since I read each and every one of Wikipedia's rules regarding the issue of blocking, the causes for which a user can be blocked, and how, in good faith, to act to be welcomed back, I realized that the mistakes I made were rude, and that trying to circumvent them would not help me, on the contrary, it would hurt me. I want to apologize again to the administrators, to the users who got mad at me for the stupid things I did, and I want them to see that I am not bad, I only made the serious mistake mentioned above out of desperation.
With this I want to show that I am ready to reintegrate into the Wikipedia community and follow each and every one of the rules to the letter in order to have a better and excellent treatment and relationship with all users and the administrators, and thus have a peaceful coexistence in this beautiful community.
I know all the things I did were wrong, from copyright violation (the main cause of the block) to trying to get around it by creating secondary accounts, but I've learned my lesson. I appeal to the good hearts of the administrators so that they see that I am not a bad person, that I made mistakes from which I have already learned the lesson, and I look forward with great hope and hope to being able to reintegrate into this beautiful Wikipedian community. And if this appeal is rejected, I will definitely give up and will not file any more appeals for unblocking.
