Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2024 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor you should be able to advance to at least the second round, improving your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Signups will close on 31 January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email), Epicgenius (talk · contribs · email), and Frostly (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! Question about a template
Hello, Lee. Happy New Year. I hope you had a great christmas season. I need your advice with a template. Template:Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship. This title is a comedy title from Japan. Anything can be a champion: wrestlers, non wrestlers, animals, objects. Navigation templates are created for navigation between articles so... question 1, some objects are linked, like beer, iPhone or books. However, I removed the links, there is no way the article about beer would have the template. question 2, do you think the template has to include dozens of champions with no article? The "common" part has no links, it's just a sea of black. question 3, an user uses bold text for the current champion. Maybe I am wrong, but I though the bold is forbbiden, since the point of the table is to see the article (for example, find Christopher Daniels, not Christopher Daniels AND the current champion in bold text. HHH Pedrigree (talk) 19:51, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Personally, I think it's too unwealdy to be used on any article. I certainly wouldn't be bolding links, or linking to random items. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:16, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

- It's a pleasure to see you at the backlog drive list. Unfortunately, it seems that no snooker-related articles is in the backlog, so perhaps you should take a look at § Easy-to-cite articles to ease yourself into the drive. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 15:58, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say "unfortunately". Aye, I would be pretty hot on citing any cue sports articles. I have done one already I think. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:59, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- According to WP:PetScan, there are exactly 4 articles that has {{unreferenced}} and is within Category:Snooker:
- That's very surprising to me. It seems that snooker articles here are very well patrolled. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:11, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- I'd seen the last one before. Seems easy enough to me. How does one state that they've done a page for the drive? I've been putting WP:FEB24 in edit summaries. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:13, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- You can use this tool to search and tally up (aka counting) articles you've cited. I should find a more sustainable solution for the next and even larger drive, but alas. I fully expect that there will be an editor that forgot to use that edit summary and cause a ton of headache when tallying up later :-) CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 16:16, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- As I thought. Just a note, the progress tracker lists there being 3121 participants Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:41, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
