Ref needed

[edit]

There is text: "The Bove Path is best traversed between late spring and early autumn when the climate is most favorable. During winter, it is not recommended due to harsh temperatures and its exposure to adverse weather conditions. In contrast, summer poses different challenges: the lack of water sources along the route and prolonged exposure to the sun make it less advisable for hiking."

Is this your recommendation, or published and thus possible to cite? Is the Path closed in winter conditions? What organization would have the authority to make that decision? Are their deaths, injuries, rescues from the Path? Any news items published about that? How hot can it get in summer? Are there locations along the Path that allow people to interrupt their hike to get to a store to buy water? Exit/join the trail? Or is there only one access? David notMD (talk) 04:50, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's a recommendation for different hikers that have done it in the past and from the official office of Val Grande, there is no a public article about it, or at least credited. The path is a wild one so there is no barrier to access it, you can access it year round. It is not recommended especially in winter months since its pretty steep and most likely there is snow and/or ice and very low temperature, it can be "close" only by the Parco Val Grande office or the authority, it will probably be on their website or with a sheet of paper on the beginning of the most famous route to enter, Cicogna. There has been recently a man who get lost on one of the mountain cross by the path, and especially in the Corone di Ghina side I found some articles on different people who unfortunately lost their life.
In the summer the majour problems are the high temperature and the constant exposure to the sun meanwhile you climb. It is a completely wild area without any human interaction other then the hikers and the volunteers of the park who fixed the mountain huts and bivouac, so there is no store or anything like that. in summer is also difficult because the water sources can be completely dry (you can call the park office and they can give you all the info you can also check the website)I have some source about past years dry water sources.
The trail has a start and end in Cicogna, but there are other start and end point you can also do half of the trail and then decide where to exit. LIUCChia.05 (talk) 09:10, 26 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
