Non-sovereign flags

[edit]

Non-sovereign flag icons are neither wanted nor helpful in pageant articles. MOS:NONSOVEREIGN applies to sub-national divisions like HK and Macau: "If a flag is felt to be necessary, it should be that of the sovereign state and not that of a subnational entity". ☆ Bri (talk) 13:35, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fake article

[edit]

Please blank your user page which is formatted to look like a (fictional) beauty pageant. Under the userpage guideline, under WP:FAKEARTICLE, this is explicitly not allowed. ☆ Bri (talk) 15:10, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

February 2025: cut-and-paste move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Miss Earth 2025 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Miss Earth 2025. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:26, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Miss Charm 2024, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please follow the Wikipedia guidelines for articles.
