need a little advice
Hi Kukini,
I've been working on the article the Pennsylvania Railroad. This was a delisted good article. I renominated it after helping to copy edit it. If you have a second to look at it, I'd like your advice. Thanks Shinerunner 01:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice, I went back a cleaned up the links as you suggested. Shinerunner 15:46, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello,
I am having problems with a user who is reverting my comments on his user talk page. I am trying to leave feedback on his editing work on other articles, and he labels me a vandal and a troll while reverting my edits to his talk page. He is being quite uncivil and I wanted to know what I should do now, or if you could help me. Thanks for your time. Coreycubed 22:00, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
User talk:SuppaIke
I'm not sure what happened but your edit at User talk:SuppaIke rewrote my warning, and then you gave him a second warning. Why the rewrite and why 2 warnings? He's only made one edit. -WarthogDemon 01:54, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Nevermind, found his edit. Sorry for the confusion and I warned him on that just now. I'm still a bit confused as to why you reworded my warning however. -WarthogDemon 01:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see now. :) And thanks for stepping in with User:Overrural. I was able to keep up with his vandalism, but I dunno how long I would've been able to keep it up. :P Crazy... -WarthogDemon 03:09, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Would it be the sincerest form of flattery if I mimicked/borrowed/stole the gist of the formatting/links/layout of your userpage? I'm not talking content so much as functionality -- I could use the links you've so neatly placed before yourself on your page, and the personal sandbox area is great (maybe it'll cut down on my repetitve...repetitive...repeated edits of the same article?) - Ageekgal 09:48, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello, nice to see you I am not very new to Wikipedia (about a year anonymously, few months as INULL) but thanks for your welcome. I will be sure to ask you if I need anything. I'd like to know how you came about finding my name though. I'm also wondering about something.. I seem to remember articles not supposing to be a how-to guide but I've come across a few how-to articles and wondered how I should tag them or if I even should.

Snaps
I'm not posting inaccurate information about the game of snaps. I'm simply removing information that is over-revealing as I indicated in my description. The purpose of playing snaps is for new "players" to analytically figure out how the game is played. The reward is this itself, not playing it. A simple analogy would be pitting an expert tic-tac-toe player against a novice. If you explain to the novice that this a game that can never be won when 2 skilled players compete, it renders the game meaningless and thus there is no point in playing the game at all. The fun is derived from the novice learning that tic-tac-toe is an unwinable game. This is the reason I wish to remove those paragraphs from the description of Snaps. If you cannot do so, please explain to me why this is inappropriate.
Thank you, Dan Scholten —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sealpointman (talk • contribs) 06:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Is there a way to get a consensus of people to have this information removed? Who would have to "vote" on this? Thanks,

Thanks for the suggestion of using Christian_terrorism as a topic in my class. Small Question.
I recently got on Wikipedia from my School's computer. I found a link at the top of the page about Vandalism that I was doing to Wikipedia, and that I would be blocked from it. At our school, we each have individual ID numbers for the computers, and I find it un-likly someone could have stolen mine. I was curious to find out if it could possibly just be from the school's IP address.
I apologize for any inconvience, -Kai. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.220.86.34 (talk) 12:59, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Please look over the convo so far, you can come to your own conclusion, as my aim is not to sway you, but I really need someone to mediate between me and a few other editors who seem to be following me, and I guess you could say "ganging" up on me. Here is the article talk page [1].

Tallahassee
Hello Kukini. I note that you just removed "Barley Thar" from the Tallahassee Notable Groups section, where I had added it, stating "redlinked "notable"". Please, I don't know what that means. Are you saying that the group should not be on the list because they have no individual Wikpedia listing? If so, that logic should lead to many changes of all sorts, I would think, and perhaps to many meaningless Wikipedia entries. Please let me know if there is a policy of some sort on this. Martha F. Newbie 86.92.134.171 (Brian K West) gone wild
I just reviewed the Talk:FreeSWITCH reverted edits by this new user and wanted to provide you some background. This user started with a user id of User:briankwest, who is the website administrator for the open source project FreeSWITCH (Brian K West). He subsequently only uses an ip address and as you have noted, does not sign his comments. He has a definite conflict of interest in his edits and has been outright hostile to any suggestions to change this article about his project, suggesting that criticism mean bias. He, on the other hand, does not acknowledge his association with the project. (Review the original talk that he removed as well as comments left on my talk page User talk:Calltech#FreeSWITCH advert tagging.) I stopped posting on this talk page after his abusive comments and feel he needs some form of administrative warning. I have posted spam warnings on this article in the past, which he simply removes. The article should also be tagged with a COI warning, because this individual is the major contributor to its content. Thanks! Calltech 16:05, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- I have subsequently posted an entry at WT:WPSPAM#Newbie briankwest (aka 86.92.134.171) gone wild with the same content as here. Several users have responded and now tagged the article as spam or recommended reducing it to a stub until reliable third parties are found to expand the article. Calltech 17:58, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Modest boost in assessed articles during September WikiProject Oklahoma's massive list of unassessed articles got smaller over the month of September, as 45 articles were assessed by bots and editors. Assessments made on August 31 bring the total to 62 assessed articles over the 31-day period. On September 15, BetacommandBot assessed 40 articles from no-class to stub and start class. This bot automatically updates the talk pages of articles included in more than one WikiProject if at least one WikiProject has already assessed the material, bringing each interested WikiProject's ratings into compliance with the assessment. No B-class or higher quality assessments were given out over September, and only a small handful of importance assessments were granted. On August 31, one Low, Mid, and High importance rating was given to three separate articles. Leroy McGuirk was given the lone high-importance rating. Oklahoma categories receive help from Texan TexasAndroid, an administrator, assisted WikiProject Oklahoma by categorizing nearly 100 Oklahoma-related pages on September 24. The additions were made mainly to Tulsa-related pages. "I've done the major cities in Texas in the past, and was thinking about what to do next, and decided to stay relatively close to home for now. Thus OK's big cities got done," TexasAndroid wrote on his user page. Meet WikiProject Oklahoma's "sub-project" Taskforce Tulsa, a collaboration of editors operating under WikiProject Oklahoma, has been created to increase the scope of Wikipedia's coverage of Tulsa and its surrounding areas. Taskforce Tulsa is many things, but most importantly, it is a way for editors to have a place to put Tulsa-related requests (pictures, article, expansion, collaboration) for other editors interested in Tulsa. News, guidelines, and category trees related to Tulsa articles can easily be accessed and added through the task force's project page. The taskforce is not its own WikiProject. Instead, it works in conjunction with WikiProject Oklahoma to increase the quality and scope of Tulsa-related material. Because of the increased clutter and unnecessary waste of space that would be created with a new WikiProject, editors have opted for a taskforce, or workgroup project. Rather than having a Wikiproject Oklahoma banner as well as a Wikiproject Tulsa banner on most Tulsa-related pages, editors can simply add the Tulsa Taskforce note onto the existing Wikiproject Oklahoma banner. Cleaner, clearer, and more efficient. In edit mode, such a banner would appear as this: "{{WikiProject Oklahoma|class=FA|importance=Top|tulsa-task-force=yes}}". In other words, simply adding "tulsa-task-force=yes}}" to the existing Wikiproject Oklahoma banner on an article's talk page would include that article into the Tulsa Task Force. According to an explanation on the taskforce's project page, "The Tulsa Task Force is a 'sub-wikiproject' operating 'beneath' Wikiproject Oklahoma, and is designed to assist it by focusing specifically on Tulsa-related material. Editors who are interested in expanding knowledge of Tulsa on Wikipedia may wish to consider themselves part of Taskforce Tulsa as well as Wikiproject Oklahoma." Interested parties can sign up much like a stand-alone WikiProject.

School IP Addresses
Kukini, a quick question for you, seeing as we spoke briefly about school IP blocks before - our school has a dynamic IP that changes every few months, and I've found a couple of user talk pages all linked to our school with notes on vandalism (back to 2006). I intend to remove the notice that the IP is attached to our school (since it no longer is) when I get confirmation from school administration - but what should happen to our list of vandalism warnings, seeing as the IP is no longer used by us? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexlmuller (talk • contribs) 16:42, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Illinois Post Census Report
The WikiProject Illinois Newsletter (Beta) "Post Census Report" Vol. I, No. 1, Issue 1, October 2007 If you would like to delete this message, the original is at Wikipedia:WikiProject Illinois/Newsletter/Post Census Report
On October 4, 2007 WikiProject Illinois embarked on a membership census. The census was the project's first since its establishment on September 24, 2005. Due to the nature of the wiki, and the two years that had passed, it seemed likely that many of the project's older members were no longer active. The project page had grown stagnant and the census provided an opportunity to see who was still around, slaving away in their own corner of the encylopedia, unknown to the rest of the Illinois editing world. Well, now, the tabulation is complete, and after a notice at the Community Portal, we have gained a couple new members amongst the cluster of project veterans who returned to sign up. Of the 55 members listed on the project membership list on October 4, 26 editors returned to the list to "resign up," thus, confirming their current activity within project areas. If you received this message, you were one of those editors. The List of Participants has now been updated to reflect the results of this membership survey, with members who failed to respond highlighted as "inactive." Now, as a group of editors, we have a core list of individuals, that will hopefully grow in size as the project strives to become a better organized central collaboration space for editors working on Illinois related topics.
The big question, where does the project go from here? Well there are a few proposals being floated at this project page. Little discussion has occurred thus far, and participation would be key to all of them. Some ideas include:
