Poss. Orangemoody account
[edit]I came across Agavelooms while collaborating on Orangemoody cleanup with you. He's probably one of them, but wasn't marked as such. There had been a checkuser done at some point around 21 August, but I can't see anything past that. - Brianhe (talk) 04:05, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- I've deleted the article he created. I wouldn't worry too much if he's an Orangemoody member or not, but we need to keep these deleted articles on our watchlists because much as I would love to, policy unfortunately does not allow us the scope to salt them pre-emptively. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:20, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- Think we've got another one Geraldsem added Eltoro.com links here. — Brianhe (talk) 04:26, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure about him. I've checked his edits and I need more convincing that they are deliberate spam links. Probably more like innocent ignorance of our rules. Delete whatever edits you think are inappropriate and keep up your vigilance :) --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:33, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure about not salting. I think it could be asked at WP:AN or somewhere. I would use as a reason "part of a pattern of disruptive editing". But there is one reason to possibly not do that: if it comes back, we've got another sock. DGG ( talk ) 04:54, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Elementary school articles
[edit]I posted a concern on the WikiProject Schools talk page[1] and saw you're name on there. I wasn't sure if you monitor that page regularly or if I needed to notify you. As you'll see, my concern is about some elementary school articles. I'll keep an eye on that talk page for any response from you. Thank you. Czoal (talk) 19:43, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Czoal. I'm a coordinator of the schools project and I have many school articles and all the project pages on my watchlist. I have left some additional information about redirecting at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Schools. If you come across any more similar pages like these, you'll be able to do it yourself. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:20, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Just a notice
[edit]I just felt obligated to give you a courtesy notice since I mentioned you in the author line of this op-ed I'm writing for the Signpost. Namely, the implemented details are the mention Adam Schulz's "New RfA method", the additional information about RFA2011 ("It was created by Kudpung in his userspace on 25 March, and upon encouragement by others he subsequently moved it to Wikipedia space. The project accumulated a task force of over forty established editors, including senior WMF staff."), and the encouragement of caution concerning raw edit count stats. I realize that you might perhaps disagree with some of the suggestions I proposed (which is why it's an opinion piece), but in any case thanks for the suggestions you gave some time ago. --Biblioworm 16:06, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- Biblioworm, give me time to thoroughly read your draft article, it's a good initiative and it's important, so it needs to be got right even if I may not share your opinion(s) on some of it. Trolls and others have recently set back years of progress on RfA improvement. I'm not bragging when I say that I have done far more research into RfA than anyone. It's also interesting to note that I started my research even earlier than 2011 because I had been badly treated in my earlier 'newbie' days by a team of teenage admins acting clearly outside their mandate and wanting t 'have a go' at an older editor, and I wanted to find out and understand how the hell such people got elected as sysops. They have both since been either desysoped or completely retired. Its almost midnight here so I want to put the laptop on the bedside table and get some Zs. I'll come back to this in the morning (about 6 hours). I'll probably also be able to provide you with links to stuff you might not have been able to find yourself. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:34, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- When you come back to this in the morning, you should know that it was evidently approved, so there might not be much time to work on it. --Biblioworm 17:03, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- It's not a question of it being 'approved', it's not their job to peer review an opinion piece. If you want your piece to have the impact you desire, it has to be pretty accurate and based on facts. Otherwise it will be torn apart by readers' comments. I'll be sending you an email shortly - I'm so concerned for the accuracy, I'll work all night on this even though I'm supposed to be taking my family to the lake tomorrow.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:45, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- I meant that it was approved for publication. It's very generous of you to help with it, but of course spending time with family is more important, so please do get some rest and follow through with your planned activities if you want to. It seems like the editors still have some work to do before this issue is ready for publication, so there still might be another day or two before it's actually published. --Biblioworm 19:26, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
- Biblioworm, I just sent you an email. Please take it all in the very best of good faith, its only suggestions - whatever else I do, I don't work on Wikipedia to fuel drama. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 19:38, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Varvel Riduttori
[edit]Hello, thanks for your message. Varvel Riduttori is one of the most important manufacturing company from Italy and a leader of the mechanic transmissions industry, together with Bonfiglioli and Rossi Group. Note that its network spreads across almost every country in the world. If i should link other resources different from the company website just let me know, but i think that Varvel should be visibile among Bonfiglioli and Rossi.
Webbolo (talk) 00:35, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Webbolo. Unfortunately Wikipedia is not a directory for listing companies however bog they are. Companies must comply with our notability requirements at WP:ORG and referenced to reliable, independent, 3rd party sources such as for example, the business sections of established major newspapers and publicationd. The sources must be more than a simple fleeting mention stock exchange listing, or other company profiles. If you are connected with the company you should nor be creating or editing the article. Please see the instruction at the bottom of this page about signing your posts.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:46, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. There are plenty of newspaper articles that talks about Varvel, like these Repubblica and Il Resto del Carlino that talks about Varvel and its new patented "smart reducer" that works without lubricant. The company has been recently awarded of a nomination at Horizon 2020, an European programme securing the necessary funds (€77 billions) for new cutting edge projects. What kind of mention is required to be listed on Wikipedia? --Webbolo (talk) 01:09, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Webbolo. Just to clarify once more, Wikipedia is not a listing service for companies. The purpose of an encyclopedia is not to provide free publicity, promotion, or exposure at the expense of our volunteer editors' efforts. Your organisation(s) must have done somethibg extraordinary to be sufficiently notable for a entry in an encyclopedia. If you feel a subject meets our criteria, feel free to expand the article with references that support any claims of importance. Repubblica and Il Resto del Carlino wil also shortly be deleted along with Varvel Riduttori. To learn more, please be absolutely sure to follow all the links (text in blue) I already provided in my first reply. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:26, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, i just noticed that Bonfiglioli and Rossi Motoriduttori have removed their warnings and are still there, published, while Varvel has been deleted. This support my thesis: Wikipedia is no longer a a free and independent source of human knowledge but it's influenced by interests and relations like the real world where some people have possibilities that are denied to others. Probably you don't care, but starting from today i will stop sending monthly donations to Wikipedia. Thanks for nothing, to you and all editors that have more decision-making powers than you on this platform. Have a nice day. --Webbolo (talk) 18:07, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Webbolo, thank you for your valued donations. However, they don't accord any special privileges. I donate 1,000s of hours of my time to Wikipedia keeping it free of corporate promotion. That doesn't accord any special privileges either. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 19:21, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Blanked article
[edit]It was I who was repeatedly blanking the article at Mufti Muhammad Naeem Ludhianvi (ra). But I am not the same as the creator of the page, (some lenghty username which I don't remember). Hi Kudpung,
Thanks for reviewing the new page I posted on Uroteuthis duvauceli. You said to rearrange with level 2 headers for references.... I assume you mean to add a section header, which I've done (not sure why I missed it originally!) However, I have a problem, I miss-typed the title of the page and I have only just signed up for Wikipedia so can't yet edit the page title. Is that something you could fix for me? The title should be "Uroteuthis duvaucelii" with 2 "i"s at the end not 1 (dumb ass mistake on my part!). I've been writing the Uroteuthis genus page and the appropriate entry in my list of Uroteuthis species doesn't yet link to the U.duvaucelii page due to the lack of the extra "i". Alternatively how long do I have to have been signed up to my Wikipedia account in order to be able to edit a page title? (I ask as I fly to the Indian Ocean to dive and photo marine life there this week so won't have access for a while). Thanks My Inner Geek (talk) 12:41, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

deleted articel Hidaya Foundation
[edit]I could not understand why it did matched the criteria if the content of the article was not meeting the criteria then it might be edited but why Hidaya foundation article was deleted if other similar Humanitarian, charitable organizations articles are surviving on Wikipedia then why not Hidaya Foundation article , (Its world wide humanitarian, charitable organization which helping poor needy people in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Western Africa countries, if there are articles for other similar organizations then why not a article for Hidaya Foundation?)--Jogi 007 (talk) 06:17, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

UNFAIR DELETION of articles gives bad name to Wikipedia.
[edit]You are indeed deleting articles of your own accord. This is bad for Wikipedia. How long do you take to research sources on the search engines? You have deleted three articles authored by me titled : Asarulislam Syed , Jannat Pakistan Party, Shalimar Radio. You reasons are not true and certainly not fair. Jannat Pakistan Party did contest the Elections in 2013 in Pakistan despite that party candidates, members were harassed by Pakistan's ISI. Kindly undo the delete on these. Article title adjustment
[edit]Hi Kudpung, I'm hoping you can help. I've been working to improve a stub of an article on the SOE agent Nicholas Bodington and have made it a bit better. I am struggling though because many on-line sources spell his first name as Nicholas whereas his parents, most official records (but not all) and the man himself used Nicolas. His birth, marriage and death registrations all say Nicolas and the two books which he authored say Nicolas without the h. Is there anyway that the Wikipedia article could be amended to show his name correctly but also leave it "linked" via the incorrect Nicholas spelling ? Thanks for your help again, R44Researcher1944 (talk) 13:50, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Researcher1944. Right, wel this is where you are gooing to start learning about some of the real nitty-gritty of encyclopedia work. I'll give you links to what you need to read up, then you make your decisions and do it yourself and in doing so become a skilled editor. Look at this page: WP:AT, read it all, but pay particular attention to the section WP:COMMONNAME. When you have decided what is best in your opinion for the article, then if you wish to change the title, follow the instructions at WP:MOVE. If you think it's important to make a link somehow to the page from another name that someone may be using to search for the article, then read up on WP:REDIRECT. Generally, if you move a page a redirect will automatically be left behind, but you can make as many redirects as you think appropriate. There you go! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:16, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
very many thanks, I shall go and read and learn a little more LOL. Researcher1944 (talk) 08:04, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Australian education research project
[edit]Dear Kudpung,
My name is Gjeta Gjyshinca and I am working on a research project based on Australian education. My initial research is based on compiling an up-to-date list of all Government and Non-Government schools in Australia, taking into account closures, name-changes, and amalgamations of schools. I got your details from the Schools WikiProject page here and I wonder whether you could provide me with information on how the information on this page and all sub-pages was collected and how recent it is? Is it possible to download these lists in spreadsheet format?
I hope you can help me with this research or direct me to someone who can!
Many Thanks, Gjeta — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.254.14.178 (talk) 10:36, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- U&nfortunately, all the information in Wiukipedia was compiled by people just like yourself with no access to any special tools. You can download any of the content by simply copying and pasting it to a file on your own computer, but as far as I know, there is no shortcut for making a CSV spreadsheet compatible file of any of it. Wikipedia uses a proprietary MediaWiki system for creating tables with the values separated by pipes, so you'd have to create spreadsheet content manually. Article upgrade assistance request (Pre-translation stage)
[edit]Seasons Greetings,
This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.
Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.
While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.
Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.
This particular request is being made to you since your user name is listed in Wikipedia:Translators available list.
Thanking you with warm regards Mahitgar (talk) 05:37, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
