A tag has been placed on Blood transfusion journal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.bloodtransfusion.it/bt/libraryFiles/downloadPublic/4. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Hello Kshitijsri82. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Blood Transfusion (journal), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Seeing your Teahouse post, if your supervisor asked you to create a page for the journal as part of, say, a paid internship/research position, it does count as paid editing, even if you are not paid by the journal directly. The editorial staff sent me the language and the image to put in the page. I have told them that Wikipedia is not allowing me to create the page for the journal and that they should consider doing it on their own. Kshitijsri82 (talk) 14:18, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, they shouldn't consider doing it on their own either, as they have an even bigger conflict of interest. The best plan is to create it in Wikipedia:Draftspace and have it go through Wikipedia:Articles for creation for review. When writing the draft, you should summarize in your own words what secondary sources (not the journal itself) say about it. The editorial staff cannot control the language used in the page, as Wikipedia is supposed to have a neutral, factual and encyclopedic tone, and they do not own the page. Additionally, I think someone already linked it at the teahouse, but Wikipedia:When your boss tells you to edit Wikipedia is pretty good advice in your situation. If you're doing it out of your good will, it's fine, but if it is a request from your supervisor, you should be able to say "no" in situations like this, as it isn't part of your research duties and they're pretty much just using you to self-promote.
If it can help, tell your boss/the editorial staff that this recommendation comes from the new page reviewer who flagged the article for deletion. (I don't technically have authority over any other Wikipedia editors, but if it helps make it sound official, it can always help – also, best to check the laws with your local unions to see if your supervisor is even allowed to make this kind of requests) Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 14:34, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, you need to disclose your conflict of interest without delay and before you do any other editing. It is clear that you are writing Draft:Blood Transfusion (journal) at the behest of one or more representatives of the journal in question, using content supplied by them, and this is therefore effectively you just acting as a front or shill for the journal team. If you are editing in any sort of paid role, or even an unpaid internship or research assistant or similar position, this comes under our paid-editing rules, and you must make the specific disclosure using the {{Paid}} template. If you are absolutely sure that paid editing does not apply, then you must make the general conflict of interest (COI) disclosure using the {{User COI}} template.
