Paid editing disclosure and copyrighted material[edit]

Hello Kmweimer. I may be repeating some points raised by other editors elsewhere, but I am placing them here for ease of reference.

Because you identified yourself as an employee of the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program in this edit [1], you are engaged in what we refer to as paid editing. Wikipedia's terms of use and paid editing disclosure rules make it mandatory for you to divulge this relationship on your userpage, User:Kmweimer. You can use the {{paid}} template to do so, which will provide you with a standardized disclosure notice.

With regards to the material you copied and pasted from your organization's website, I'm afraid that is not possible. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. You can learn more about this policy at Wikipedia:Copyrights.

If you'd like to use the copyrighted content in an article, refer to Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to grant us permission to use your content.
