Robotology (game)

[edit]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Robotology (game), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Robotology (game). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.--Fuhghettaboutit 03:57, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Bon Echo Beta 2 Screen Shot 1.PNG

[edit]

Hi, could you upload a new version of this file with the display at a lower resolution (640*480) please? Also, the image tag needs to be sorted out. Thanks. J Ditalk 22:39, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will not comply with this request, only because a new version of Firefox 2 (RC1) is coming out in less than a week, and someone will undoubtedly then make a new screen shot meeting all of the Wikipedia standards. My image loads fine, and I see no reason to change it for only six days. If someone else wishes to make a better screen shot and replace mine before then, they should feel free to do so. By the way, the tag has been sorted out. - Kingpin

Firefox 2 RC1

[edit]

I changed my screenshot, as you asked, but could you please sign your name next time, so that people know who's talking to them ;)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FF2RC1Temp.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Firefox 3 picture

[edit]

Hello again

You asked me to change the screenshot of Firefox 3.0a1 ([1]); however, I will not change it until Mozilla re-enables "places" (the weird history/bookmarks popup) which they got rid of yesterday for some reason [2]. I'll fix it then since otherwise 3.0a1 looks exactly like the current RC, and there's no point to screenshot it.

And the red icon on the bottom right is Adblock Plus 0.7.1.2, which is the currently the most efficient Adblock available, and really well maintained (Surprised you're not using it! ;)

Pictures I WANT Deleted

[edit]

Here are a list of pictures that your OrphanBot failed to delete. I will update this list occasonally, and content may be removed by me -KingpinE7

(PS how do I delete images myself, if that's possible?)

Only an administrator can delete an image. The best way to get images you've uploaded deleted is to add {{db|uploader request}} to the image description page. --Carnildo 01:46, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Robotology

[edit]

We don't know anything else about the game apart from what's already on the page, and at the moment it fails verifiability. When there's official releases, and more information, the page can be filled (and I'm certainly eager to do so). — mæstrosync talk&contribs, 14:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing... how large of a milestone is v1.5 that it needs its own section for a release that will happen after the new year? If the answer is satisfactory I'll leave the section alone.

In that case it is perfectly warranted and I apologise for my actions. --TheSeer (TalkˑContribs) 06:26, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do I hate Linux?

[edit]

You posted a message on talk page asking me to put that thing on to my userpage. I think you're talking about GNU/Linux. I was only saying I hated the Linux kernel. And anyway, GNU/Linux, GNU, and Linux are all better than Windows. Yes I do hate IE.

Hmm, the only problem I see is with Image:NoIE.png. All you need to do is color the parts of "e" that aren't cpvered by either the text or the "anti" symbol in a third color. Cheers, The Raven's Apprentice (Talk|Contribs) 14:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:FirfoxPortableTemp.PNG

[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:FirfoxPortableTemp.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --- RockMFR 17:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Whitney Young High School/Userboxes/Student, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

userbox containing a fair-use image created in the wrong namespace.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wodup 06:38, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use images

[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you used two fair use images in your userspace, and I have removed them. Criterion 9 of the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria states that "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." They can be replaced with any free images that you find or create, however. Wodup 05:51, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please Use Edit Summaries

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Jmlk17 21:27, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of The Ordertaker

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Ordertaker, by Biggspowd, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Ordertaker seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Ordertaker, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate The Ordertaker itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 01:46, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of The Ordertaker

[edit]

I've nominated The Ordertaker, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that The Ordertaker satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Ordertaker and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of The Ordertaker during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. —— Eagle101Need help? 08:40, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:FirfoxPortableTemp.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:FirfoxPortableTemp.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:08, 4 June 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:That Old Pair Of Jeans.ogg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:That Old Pair Of Jeans.ogg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:28, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Khangkhungkherrnitz.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:35, 6 October 2007 (UTC). Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Buruguduystunstugudunstuy.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Buruguduystunstugudunstuy.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BritandBeyonce (talkcontribs) 10:40, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Community for Alternative Sources of Energy, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Community for Alternative Sources of Energy. Proposed deletion of Eugene R. Gannon Award for the Continued Pursuit of Human Advancement

[edit]

The article Eugene R. Gannon Award for the Continued Pursuit of Human Advancement has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

redirect for an implausible search term

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 23:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated List of National Speech and Debate Tournament Champions, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of National Speech and Debate Tournament Champions. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Wikipedia:Audio use policy listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Wikipedia:Audio use policy. Since you had some involvement with the Wikipedia:Audio use policy redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so).  Sandstein  20:48, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Prunes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fail WP:MUSIC.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
