Upload help
Can you explain to me how to upload an image to an exisiting page? I have visited the help desk and cannot find the infor mation. Previous unsigned comment left by Ian Forry (talk · contribs)
- Hi! Yeah, you go to WP:UPLOAD and the instructions are fairly simple there. For more detailed info about uploading images, you could see WP:UPIMAGE. Once you upload the image, you'd put [[File:<filename>.jpg]] to whichever article you want it on. Killiondude (talk) 02:21, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello!
Thanks for your note that you post on my talk area. I am doing my best to make summaries; if you see new edits, I think summaries are good, but always can improve. I like making little edits; i use wikipedia a lot for research and for a good idea of where to make look-ups for research topics, so if I see things that need edit, I like "keeping the park clean!!" Thanks you very much again! Aboudkokash (talk) 17:34, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

How?
Apparently, I reported the semi-protection request of Pizza the wrong way. In case I need to report again in future, how do I do it? Thanks.--The Legendary Sky Attacker 03:23, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hello! You manually added Category:Wikipedia semi-protected edit requests to the page, but that template is actually used by the
{{editsemiprotected}}
template, which is used when someone is requesting an edit be made to a semi-protected page (for IP users or people who aren't autoconfirmed yet. The simplest way to report a page for protection is to use Twinkle. You'd hit the "rpp" tab when you're visiting the article you'd like to protect, and you'd choose the appropriate options (you'd choose the "Vandalism" option under "Semi-Protection" and explain your reasoning in the large box provided. That automatically files a report at WP:RFPP. Or if you don't have Twinkle, or wanna do it by hand, I'm sure there's instructions on WP:RFPP for how to do it manually. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Killiondude (talk) 03:29, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I would sincerely like to know what "I just nulled the template, because several users seem to be involved in your situation now. Killiondude (talk) 16:57, 16 June 2009 (UTC)" means? Please help me out :) ?
I spoke with you yesterday and you were very helpful, and you said no one would delete the article, but now they are trying to.
I contested their efforts, and I am continuing to add citation sources. The person who challenges me remembers the article being flagged as spam the last time I posted it, but this is incorrect. It was flagged for speedy deletion because of notability. I have more citations to add, and the ones that are already up are pretty substantial, in my opinion, so what should I do next besides keep adding citations?
Thanks 70.109.255.97 (talk) 16:19, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- Orangemike (talk · contribs) has a point, in that the references you've provided appear to discuss items surrounding the person you're writing about, rather than talking about what he's done. I skimmed through the one online article about him, and that one seems to be okay (it talks about items surrounding him, but also discusses him somewhat), but the titles of the other references suggest that they don't discuss the person directly. So you need to provide a few more third party sources that talk about him. Killiondude (talk) 17:48, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Malik Ram
Hello Killiondude
Very many thanks for looking at the article I have been working on. The citations you have mentioned at the bottom of the article are all copied and pasted from Wikipedia itself. I just typed in 'Malik Ram' and that is what came up and I copied and pasted it at the bottom of my article, as I thought they would provide the reader with links to pages on Wikipedia which refer to Malik Ram. Perhaps you can help me here. As you have gathered, I am a novice in the field and would like to submit the article for consideration as a Featured Article but just don't know how to go about it. Again, any help would be much appreciated.--Zananiri (talk) 10:58, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

- I didn't read the discussion on the talk page, but I did check out the source. I read the "about us" page on their site, and looked around on their main page. As site ran by fans, and somewhat as a "blog"-type format, I am not sure this can be considered a "reliable source". The webmasters of that site could post anything they wanted, and aren't held to any sort of "fact checking standard" which is really why there is this guideline on what sources should be used. Sacramento
You live in Sac too? Nice. :D
If you feel like it, we could collaborate on a city article in the region (like Sacramento itself, which would be nice, because I'm working on its history page at the moment and that should facilitate things a bit). --Starstriker7(Talk) 05:46, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi! I just watchlisted the history page you linked. I've worked on the Sacramento article a tad, but not too extensively. I mostly keep it on my watchlist to revert vandalism :-) I'm open for collaboration, that sounds like a great idea! I can read through the history article when I get some time. Killiondude (talk) 06:54, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think the best way to start on the Sac article is to do an assessment of what can be improved, so I'll make a subpage off of my userspace to leave my comments. I've run into problems with the History of Sacramento, though, as all the local library's Sacramento-specific sources end prior to the World Wars. There's a new library in Lincoln that might have something useful, but it is possible that it will not have what I am looking for. Could you help me in this sector as well? --Starstriker7(Talk) 00:22, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- I've completed my assessment of the Sac article. You can see it here. What do you think? --Starstriker7(Talk) 20:25, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- You know, several months ago I looked for resources in my local library regarding the history of Sacramento, and I didn't really come up with much. I don't actually live in the city limits, but that's as much as I'd like to say for the purpose of some anonymity. I can say that I live pretty far from Lincoln (though I have been there many times). I didn't know they got a new library! I looked it up and it looks pretty cool from the pictures. I saw that their old library, still operating, is a Carnegie library, and I've written a few articles on those, so I might write an article on that one in the future ;-) I checked out your subpage, its very nice. Personally, I like lists so I'm glad you made one. I won't have too much time in the near future to help, as I'm going on vacation for the next week. I might start to help out today a little bit though. I'll also leave a note on WP:CAL, linking them to your subpage. It is the capitol of the state, so people should want to get it up to par, but who knows. Killiondude (talk) 01:43, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hah. The central library on L Street must be hogging everything. I checked the new library; it turns out that they are so new, they don't have anything substantial on Sacramento's anything. Interestingly, though, I found quite a few things on Modoc County. Well, it looks like there's only one place left to check. :)

Yolo County
Category:Museums in Yolo County, California is created now, sorry, it's one of a stack of windows, but Im trying to close everything out before going to bed. I know what you mean about the counties with one or two museums. I'm working through the museums categories overall (first pass all of the way up to Illinois, 2nd pass in California as you can tell.) Even though there's only one museum in the county, I think it's best to keep the two ways of separating museums (by type, and by location). County is currently the lowest granularity I use, since California has hundreds of museums over a very big state. Tying museusm to their count or if there are enough, to the city, allows a lot of good side effects. IMHO dm (talk) 05:25, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Article
I have read the policy of nomination of article deletion, which you have mentioned, the list which i have created, i.e, list of tallest buildings in 2020, it has a reliable source , *CTBUH.com.And there is nothing to be chnaged in future, because i have ,mentioned at the top of this artile that,
This list includes only those supertall skyscrapers, which are currently under construction, so its means that all the buildings will be completed in future. For other skyscrapers, which are Approved , proposed , i havent added them in this list, instead i have created another list , list of approved, proposed buildings. It is also mentioned in CTBUH, that due to the current Downturn of Global economy, no supertall skyscraper is expected to be built until 2020. All the skyscrapers which i have menitoned in the list of tallest buildings in 2020, have reliable source, Emporis.That these builidngs are under construcion and have enough finances to continue their construction and it is confirmed that they will be built.Wht you say ?

Smithsonian Institution Wiki Edits
Hi Killiondude,
I hope you can help me. I'd like to make edits to the Smithsonian page - just some fact changes I'd like to pull from our fact sheets posted on the publicly accessed media Web page, www.newsdesk.si.edu, and a few edits from our general council dept and dept of safety. As instructed by McJeff, I posted my suggested edits to the Smithsonian's talk last week - what is the next step? Do I wait for my edits to get approved, or is there a certain about of time to have my suggestions posted to the Talk page before I make those edits to the wiki page? Thanks for the help! :) (Smithsonianinstitution (talk) 15:05, 20 July 2009 (UTC))
- Hello again. I was without the internet for a few days, so I just got your message. Personally I agree with WP:SILENCE. In this situation I think its acceptable to propose something on the talk page, then if no one makes any comments in a day or two, go ahead and make your proposed changes. Be sure to keep things neutral in language, and try to use more sources than just what the institute publishes about itself. See WP:SELFPUB. It is certainly allowable, but frowned upon. Its nice to know what outside sources publish. I may have linked you to this before, I'm not certain, but you should read our FAQ for organizations and perhaps the FAQ for article subjects. This is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit, but people get very tense when dealing with users who only edit the page for their own company/organization. Please ask me if you have any questions or need clarification. As long as you keep things neutral and you provide references for where you got your information (using reliable sources), you should be good. Killiondude (talk) 01:57, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Zoltán Kodály
Can you please have a look at this PDF, and see if you know what language it is in?
If you do, can you add a note (on the last external link) on Zoltán Kodály, ie (in Klingon) or whatever. Cheers, Chzz ► 09:58, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Haha. Yeah, it is Portuguese. I appended the language in the EL on that article. Killiondude (talk) 21:35, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Excellent; cheers! Chzz ► 04:39, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Even though I'm always right and technically the real God-King pulling the strings, I don't have any problems with the change in redirect. bibliomaniac15 02:23, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hm. Just noticed that Cubs changed it. I wasn't a part of that decision, but that's good you didn't mind him doing so. Killiondude (talk) 02:33, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Sexual favors now?
Here: User:Splarka/quicktag.js. You'll need to define an array (of objects) for the buttons you'll want. I made it generic so you could just refer to the script from here, like this should work on commons:
var insertTagButtons = [
{ 'label': 'Speedy',
'open' : '{\{speedy|',
'close': '}}',
'def' : 'crap page'
}
];
importScriptURI('http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User:Splarka/quicktag.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
