Hi Katherine! Thanks for making edits to my sandbox; I figured I'd take a look at yours! Your article is written in a very formal, neutral tone, so I have no recommendations about specific wording. You also have an impressive amount of citations and I can tell you put a lot of work into your section! I think some of your sentences are slightly too technical, and could maybe use a bit of clarification or extra information to allow anybody to understand it a bit better. Here are a few instances. 1) I don't know what 'T1-T3' and 'T4' mean. I'm guessing they're cancers stages? I suggest writing what the terms mean and the writing T4 in brackets afterwards. 2) Are you able to describe where the botulinum toxin is injected? I know very little about this topic so it would be helpful if that is a bit more explicit. 3) In the additions under "Expansions on sections already present", some of the terminology is very technical and is going over my head. (Ex. what is the neoglottis) If these terms have been described in the original article, don 't worry about clarifying them!! However, if they are being introduced by you, I would consider elaborating on what they are. Awesome work overall!! All my suggestions are just being very nit picky. -Kjbatch (talk) 17:09, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kjbatch!
Thank you for all of your comments, I will definitely try to simplify my language and add some more detail for the botulinum toxin injection :site. Khaen23 (talk) 03:51, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ishi's Peer Review

[edit]

Hi khaen23! I think that your section is very well researched, and the sources used are great, credible sources. Like kjbatch mentioned, you use a neutral tone and provide a good amount of information on each subsection.

My suggestions are 1) to just put a small definition after technical terms, like TEP. You could also include a diagram of all the part pf a larynx to facilitate understanding of your part.

2) Give a rough estimate of the time span between when the next injection Botulinum toxin is given

Great work! Happy editing!

Hi Ishi!
Thank you for your suggestions! My group will definitely be adding in diagrams next week, we just wanted to discuss as a group which ones were :more relevant and wikipedia appropriate. I'll find the extra information for the Botulinum toxin as well! Khaen23 (talk) 03:51, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edits feedback

[edit]

Hi Khaen23,

Here are some comments on your edits for the article on Laryngectomy!

Strengths:

  • I like your writing style! Your sentences are concise and easy to follow. There aren’t any run-ons or awkward structures.
  • Your additions are well-researched have a lot of references. They all seem like valuable additions to the topic.

Areas of improvement:

  • Some feedback I got on my references was to try to avoid sources from 2010 and earlier unless they were seminal works on the topic - I noticed some of your sources fell in this period so you may find this helpful too.
  • Consider rephrasing this sentence to avoid repetition: To determine the severity/spread of the laryngeal cancer, indirect laryngoscopies using mirrors, endoscopies (rigid or flexible) and/or stroboscopies may be performed to examine the spread of the cancer and level of vocal fold function > To determine the severity/spread of the laryngeal cancer and the level of vocal fold function, indirect laryngoscopies using mirrors, endoscopies (rigid or flexible) and/or stroboscopies may be performed.

Let me know if you have any questions about my comments :) Jlmdouce (talk) 01:11, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimdouce!
Thank you for your suggestions and comments as well! I'll work in your rephrasing suggestion and I will try to find more up to date resources. :Sadly, there are less recent meta analyses and systematic reviews (that I was able to find). Khaen23 (talk) 03:51, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Katherine

Great job! Exceeds my expectation. Your writing is professional and accessible to wide audience. The topic is quite complex and you handled it very well. You're also responsive to peer's comments.
