Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is invited to contribute, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Tryptophan-rich sensory protein, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Hello Kfh123. Why do you want to delete the page? It looks like a good piece of information (but I'm not an expert in this field). What's wrong there? Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 11:11, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think I got it. What about redirecting the title to DNA_beta-glucosyltransferase#Bacteriophage_T4_beta-glucosyltransferase, it looks like a relevant target (?) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 11:19, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kfh123, After responding to your help request I noticed and fixed your move of S4 domain and its talk page from a user sandbox. You hadm oved it not to the mainspace but to a phantom user name "User:S4 domain" and User talk:S4 domain". I have done this myself a few times since they changed the interface to provide a default namespace selector in the move dialogue, rather than requiring you to simply state, whole hog, where you want to move a page. The change may have saved a few seconds for some people but it is certainly created the potential for these types of errors to happen a lot. Anyway, just wanted to let you know about the issue and that it was fixed.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 11:31, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How to improve

[edit]

You asked me how to improve on Wikipedia. Your articles are so technical that I cannot say much about them, but I can commend to you the List of books about Wikipedia, and especially the two "how to" books there, by Avery and Broughton. The Broughton book is available here on Wikipedia for reading and updating, as well as on paper. --DThomsen8 (talk) 14:08, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For medical articles we typically use secondary sources like review articles instead of primary ones. TRIP Database case be a good method to find high quality sources. Our guideline here WP:MEDRS provides more details. Cheers Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 13:14, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good work

[edit]

Good work with protein families! Just letting you know that it probably was not a good idea to place protein families in article about species, so I had to split this content to Vesiculovirus matrix proteins. My very best wishes (talk) 19:58, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ISCB Wikipedia Competition 2013

[edit]

Dear Kfh123,

I thought that you would be interested to know that the International Society for Computational Biology was running its Wikipedia competition again this year. You can find out more at the URL below:

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Computational_Biology/ISCB_competition_announcement_2013

To enter you must still be a student or post-doctoral trainee. I would also be grateful if you could also let your colleagues know about the competition as we would like to get even more great entries this year :-)

Best wishes. Alexbateman (talk) 14:33, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
