Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1988 Buffalo Bills season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tom Erlandson. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your changes, generally, adding redlinks is no longer desirable. Please read WP:WTAF. Basically, after more than two decades, unless you write their articles, they are likely to get them. If you do write their articles, we can convert the names into real links. If you disagree, please discuss this on the article's talk page. Regards, Tarl N. Information icon Hello! I'm Donald Albury. Your recent edit(s) to the page Jason Odom appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donald Albury 15:05, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Donald
I refered to the NFL.com website transactions/reserve lists and noted that Jason Odom was placed on IR by the Buccaneers in Aug of 2000. So i changed the year to 2000 on his page.
Thanx

When you change something that has a citation to a source, and that cited source does not support the change, then you need to provide a citation to a reliable source that supports the change you made. Don't worry too much about formatting the citation. As long as you provide enough information for another editor to easily find the source, someone else will likely tidy up the citation. Punt and kick returner on rosters

[edit]

Please stop adding punt returner and kick returner to the rosters on season pages. The positions provided are for official roster positions. Punt returner and kick returner are not roster positions.--Rockchalk717 05:16, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Source for changes to NFL rosters

[edit]

I've noticed you make a lot of changes to the final rosters on NFL season articles. I was just wondering what source you're using for these changes, I'd like to use it to run through all the rosters on the Jaguars season pages.DragonFury (talk) 20:06, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

[edit]

Please do not overlink or remove teams from infobox. Yankees10 00:45, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
I noticed some of my edits that were reverted resulted in inaccurate information i.e. Ian Allen was added to the falcons psq on Jan 1 2002-NFL Year 2001. You changed it to 2002. That is just one example. Please explain Kelliecharging (talk) 01:55, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi
Alot of the information I get comes from the NFL Teams's media guide. I just double checked on two edits I did and found my info was accurate Kelliecharging (talk) 02:09, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I am referring to: [1] why are you doing this?-- Yankees10 02:58, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
There are many edits that I made that are accurate. The information comes from the team's media guide. Also there are players links I fixed.
Please explain why you have a problem with this when alot of the information comes from media guide and/or Pro ootball Reference Kelliecharging (talk) 03:01, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your removal of the Bucs from Renfree's infobox IS NOT accurate. He signed with them in 2017 and was released. Do not remove again. Also Quinn Ojinnaka is now a professional wrestler under the name Moose. You provided zero explanation to why you made that move.-- Yankees10 03:04, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn'y mean all of the info needed to be reverted. Did you check the info before you changed it. I realize I made some mistakes. Yes you are right about those two examples but you made 100 changes Kelliecharging (talk) 03:07, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You made too many edits over a short period of time making many mistakes. And you continue to revert my edit adding the same mistakes.-- Yankees10 03:11, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I accept that. Kelliecharging (talk) 03:14, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are making these edits again. Please stop.-- Yankees10 18:10, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't count if they were an offseason member of the team? Kelliecharging (talk) 18:14, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If a player is cut at final cuts they get the previous seasons year in the infobox. Did you ever stop and think that YOU were the one making these mistakes and that all these articles were correct? Please fix these mistakes you have made.-- Yankees10 20:10, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So if the player was ONLY an offseason member/psq member that year goes in the info box. I want to get this right because all the players' info has not been consistent so I don't know what procedure is correct Kelliecharging (talk) 20:43, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi
Please check NFL transactions at Pro football archives. Glen Kozlowski was on IR for the entire 1993 season and Tom Thayer was released by the Dolphins after the 1993 season started.
Thanx Kelliecharging (talk) 02:21, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Natural disambiguation

[edit]

I reverted your undiscussed move of Keith "End Zone" Jones. The tile you moved to, Keith Jones (American football, born February 1966)) is convoluted (typo of the closing parenthesis aside). The previous name is preferred per natural disambiguation. Regards. —Bagumba (talk) 01:41, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Thanx Kelliecharging (talk) 01:43, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kelliecharging,
Thanks for your help but I just had one minor request. Could you please stop moving pages without discussion unless it's obvious? Ed Hervey goes by Ed per the majority of news sources. We don't go by what his NFL.com profile says, we go by WP:COMMONNAME. Thanks, ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 03:04, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK Thanx Kelliecharging (talk) 20:56, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can still move stuff if you want but if it's debatable, please start a Requested move instead. Thanks, ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:26, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thanx Kelliecharging (talk) 21:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I'm confused in regards to if the Final Roster for a team means just the regular season or includes post season. FYI

[edit]

Per Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Football_League#Should_references_be_included_in_NFL_infoboxes?, please do not add, like on Giorgio Tavecchio, do not add each year he was on the practice squad or if he was on the active roster. (The references are not the issue.) Thanks WhyIsThisSoHard575483838 (talk) 17:58, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
Thank you for the input. Wouldn't the info be inaccurate if it is done the way you suggested? Kelliecharging (talk) 23:09, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
More or less the reason that me and Bagumba went over this is because it is a bit too complicated. Just putting his span of how long he was on the team if on the active roster for a bit of the stint, even if he was on the practice squad with most of the stint, it would not have an asterisk. If he was only on the practice squad the entire stint, it would just be an asterisk. The references should really be included in the main body of the article, but… references are in theory OK in the infobox if nothing else. That's all. DISREGARD THIS REPLY WhyIsThisSoHard575483838 (talk) 23:41, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@WhyIsThisSoHard575483838: While I agree it looked clunky, I wasn't endorsing any particular format yet. I can also understand Kelliecharging's "inaccurate" comment if a player hypothetically was cut in training camp 3 straight years, was on the practice squad for 2 other years and was activated for only 1 game. It might look like he was on the active squad for 5 whole seasons. Anyways, best to propose at that WT:NFL thread if anyone has a better alternative. —Bagumba (talk) 00:13, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhhhh OK, I will bring this topic to the project talk page… sorry about that WhyIsThisSoHard575483838 (talk) 00:17, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kelliecharging, please go to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Football_League#Formatting before you make anymore edits and participate in the discussion as to why the style you use is correct.

Question

[edit]

Do you remember where you saw that Chuck Bradley (offensive tackle) was with the Vikings in 1996? It might be true since he played in NFL Europe that year (then known as the WLAF) but I couldn't find a source at the moment. Thanks for your help, ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 13:46, 6 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi
regarding your reverts. According to Pro Football Reference, Ben Claxton was an offseason member of the Bucs in 2004. Am I mistaken? Kelliecharging (talk) 03:22, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
