Sure thing!

Count on it, dear Karrman :) Just gimme a day or two, please. I'm slowly taking back requests for userpage designs, and I'll get to you as soon as I finish Pschemp's. I'll let you know as soon as I'm done, k? Kisses! Phaedriel tell me - 23:59, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you! Karrmann 01:21, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Dear Karrmann, I´ve just finished a design for your userpage - hope you like it! Have a look at it here; if it´s ok with you, you can simply copy the text and paste it into your own userpage. If you want me to enhance it any further, just yell and I´ll do my best. Kisses! Phaedriel tell me - 12:59, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Thank you very much! For once, my user page is not an unorganized mess. Karrmann 13:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
My pleasure, K ;) Have a great day! Phaedriel tell me - 13:06, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Block

Howdy...I see the IP you mentioned has only vandalized your page once. I really can't block him but I can semi-protect your page. However, there isn't that high a vandalism rate, so even that really isn't justified yet...my page has been vandalized at least 40 times if that makes you feel any better...anyway, I'll watchlist your page and if he returns, I'll block him and or protect your page at that time.--MONGO 17:18, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok, well to tell the truth, he vandalized my page once, than he vandalized my talk page. Buth times my page has been vandalized is because I would revert their vandalism on the Miles "Tails" Prower page, and then they would come and vandalise my page. So a semi-protect sounds good. Karrmann 18:03, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I blocked his IP for a month...the longest I am allowed...if he returns after that, I'll see what else I can do.--MONGO 11:03, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Smile!

Fair use images

Karrmann, I've removed some fair use images from your user page per Wikipedia:Fair use. I'm really sorry I had to, as it was a lovely and well-designed one (go Phaedriel!), but policy is clear. I believe I'm going to have to drop a train on your Edgar picture, too, as it's fair use but not used in any articles. Sorry. :( I really hate being the bearer of bad news in these cases with a person who seems eminently cool but I have to deface their user page/block them for eighty years/kill their families, but it's my civic duty, dammit! Cheers! Drop me a line if you have any questions or just want to chat. —BorgHunter ubx (talk) 06:07, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, dear K!

My dear Karrmann, I've been rather busy today, and most likely I'll have very little time for the next couple of days too; but I don't want to let time pass without giving you a big hug and a great THANK YOU! for your beautiful words and your support. You draw a big smile on my face with your "bribe". Rest assured that I'll display my Ford proudly at my userpage as soon as I update it. It is because of dear friends like you that this place will have a long life for me. I hope you stick around for many years - I'd like to congratulate you when you get your driving license ;) Big kisses, Phaedriel tell me - 21:54, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Your comments here are out of line. Please read, and digest WP:CIVIL. And yes, I am aware of the RfC, but that doesn't excuse incivility, it merely weakens your case. I suggest you go back and moderate your post. Regards, - FrancisTyers · 13:47, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I will clean up my post, but I am fed up with his half assed pics. It has me really aggrivated. He doesn't read or respond to our posts about his pics, we created the RfC, and he ignored it, no matter how much we encouraged him to read and post on it, and now he changed his name to bull-dozer just so we won't call himn on his bad pics, it has gotten me really mad! Karrmann 13:59, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
I find that it is Bull-Doser/Take_Me_Higher who is out of line. By the way, he has uploaded a new batch today. Only one of them is a decent photo, and even that one needs to be cropped. DonIncognito 00:42, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Zastava Koral Page

Hey, your the guy who was changing the photo for the Zastava Koral info box at the Zastava Koral Article. You say that the car needs to be seen from the front in the photo, right? Well, I don't know how to download photos from wikipedia, so I'm asking you if you can go to http://www.google.com to images and search for "Zastava Koral" and go to the very first photo of that search. It shows a great shot of a blue Zastava Koral, new model. Could you put that in the article please? write back to my talk page. thanks.

- - ===Isuzu=== - - Still a dominant player in the medium truck market, their presence in automobiles and the US peaked with cult pitchman "Joe Isuzu", placement in Spy Kids and a wider line of cars and trucks than Subaru. Since then, they have fallen from the "truck company" to the "SUV company" to the "one rebadged Chevy SUV" company. They made some wild looking trucks like the Vehicross that sold in tiny numbers. An attempt to freshen the aging platform, the Axiom was aimed at too narrow a market to matter, and Honda figured out how to make their own SUVs. GM cancelled Oldsmobile when they sold more than many import nameplates, but Isuzu dealers are kept on life support with rebadged Colorados and Trailblazers, selling just 1,504 vehicles in North America in the first two months of 2006. Most probably his message was in good faith, but as a father of a boy of your age I would strongly advise you not to contact strange people from the Internet. I was just wondering why you reverted my edit to the Future section of this page. If you look at this page, it is clear that Fusion and Five Hundred sales are outpacing Taurus by a few thousand units. In addition, the source you quote repeatedly in the section is not credible: the title of the article is Ford Taurus RIP, suggesting bias towards the Taurus from line one. It is not even a news article, but an editorial. Airline 02:47, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Taurus in successful cars

Karmann, did you write this? For a fellow complaining about my POV, this had some serious issues, and I've just noticed you largely reverted, including a cited reference to protect it from being deleted by bullies. You deleted a lot of information and re-inserted POV and some pretty trivial details about what the car really did (which was redefine the midsize segment and lead it) I will give you the opportunity to merge these together again before I simply revert it. I had a 89 Taurus, nice car to drive but a nightmare to fix, late 80s tauruses had and still have pretty low resale values compared to Japanese cars. I would recommend starting with my version, and adding what you feel is missing that needs to be there. I would appreciate your not siding with the bullies who are upset that I am not simply backing down and walking away like a sane person should. You should also cite where #4 comes from, near as I can tell you are citing the top selling list, not the best source, but not completely invalid either. If it sounded more like the Top whatever guy from UK, it would be huge improvement as your tone isn't much different, and the facts not nearly as straight. --matador300 19:55, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

1986- present: "The Taurus' stellar success sparked..." + The Ford Taurus is a midsize sedan made by Ford Motor Company. The Taurus leaped over almost every bar set for sedans at the time, and formed a design revolution that ended the boxy looking cars coming from the big three. The Taurus was also sporty and fun to drive, and it had cockpit like controls, making it an effective import fighter, and the first time in the 80s that America successfully fought the Japanese. Also the Taurus brought around some design features that we can still find in todays cars, such as the lock and window buttons having a raised and lowered pump in them so they can be operated without taking your eyes off the road. The Taurus also had a CD ratio of just .18, making it the most aerodynamic American mass produced car, until Ford broke their own record with the Probe. The Taurus also pioneered in build quality in domestic built cars, as american cars at the time were known for sloppy handling, and poor build quality, which the Taurus didn't have. It was built to high standards of quality, and Ford spent millions of dollars on upgrading their plants to make this happen. Mixing all these things together, the Taurus ended up being a tremendous success, and it is still in production today, 21 years and 7,000,000 units later. The Taurus is the 4th best selling Ford model of all time, behind only the F-150, Model T and the Mustang - The Ford Taurus is a midsize sedan made by Ford Motor Company. Launched after the aero Audi 5000, the Taurus CD ratio is just .18. The GM A-bodied Celebrity and sisters introduced the FWD midsized car and they had sold well. But with a classic horizontal speedometer and dash out of a '65 Impala, they did not have the style of the Taurus. The Taurus, with the Thunderbird led a design revolution which replace the boxy Fairmonts and LTDs (and inspired a generation of blobby looking Japanese sedans). The SHO was a powerful and sporty sedan. America's best selling car even forced Honda to size up its own dedicated North American Honda Accord platform. The Taurus improved build quality in domestic built cars, though it was never to catch up in resale values with Honda or Toyota. Ford spent millions of dollars on upgrading their plants to make this happen. Management in 1996 dictated that the car should follow its logo, but the ovoid styling theme turned many off, and it fell behind the Accord and Camry even after the styling themes were toned down. Nevertheless it is still in production today as a fleet special, and remains on the recommended list by Consumer Reports, 21 years and 7,000,000 units later. Relative to other top Ford nameplates, most Americans would be surprised to hear the low key family Taurus is the 4th best selling Ford model of all time, behind only the F-150, Model T and the Mustang

Successful automobiles AFD

I don't understand at all. First you contribute to this article, and then you nominate it for deletion?? It's sourced, and can certainly be edited to reduce any perceived point of view. Certainly Jeremy Clarkson is a better writer than most of the Wp editors. I hope you realize that you've employed one of the tactics I've identified as characteristic of bullies. Please retract this if we are to remain on good terms. ApolloBoy participated in renaming this page, which means that he also approved it.--matador300 20:56, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

You're 14

Well that's very nice. And you've been reading automobile magazines since when? I've been reading them since 1967. And I've taken high school and college level writing courses, and written numerous research papers. And I've been published in professional aviation and auto magazines. I'd like to hear even more about your writing and researching qualifications, and what your mother has to say about your manners. --matador300 03:20, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Wairthu, lets look at this from a different perspective. You are 50, and have been reading automotive magazines since 1967. I'm 14, and I have been reading them since 2000. I act more mature than you (When I have a cool head, of course!), my contributions to articles are more welcomed than yours, I have more friends than you, and I have a longer and better edit history than you. Amazing, huh? Karrmann 03:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Copyrighted pictures

You also post copyrighted pictures with no source information, attack other editors, call for blocking, get angry and write awful summaries of the Taurus. Will you agree to never do this again? --matador300 21:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

3RR

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you.

Just spectating this latest mess with a certain editor, but review the WP:3RR policy and ensure you aren't in violation of it. Remember, a 4th revert is grounds for a 24 hour automatic block by any administrator. You have consensus on your side so there is no need to personally revert every change. --Mmx1 22:51, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

My response to your comment on Wiarthuhu's RfC

Personally, I think it would have been better if you hadn't been incivil towards him. I know he's made you mad, but it doesn't help the situation if you go and call his edits "crap" or something. I think he was right warning you about losing your cool, but he could have done without the age discrimination (he has done the same to me) or personal attacks. Next time, if someone leaves you a message that you think is offending you, don't bother responding to it. It also helps to try to take your mind off the conflict at hand and go edit something else; I use this approach if I get into a heated dispute. --ApolloBoy 01:47, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Offer of Cease Fire

Here's my offer.

  • You apologize for all past uncivil behavior and attacks.
  • You cease further complaints, negative comments and attacks, at least against me. I wouldn't recommend you treat other editors in a similar manner, however.
  • You withdraw the AFD and work with other editors to fix / rename Successful Automobiles to Automobiles with long running nameplates.
  • You cease to revert or remove, or ask others to revert or remove my edits. Whatever and whomoever got there first stays, no matter how much you may dislike it.

In return,

  • I will apologize for all past uncivil behavior and attacks.
  • I will cease further complaints, negative comments and attacks.
  • I will work with you and other editors to fix / rename Successful Automobiles to Automobiles with long running nameplates or start a new article which you can cooperate with.
  • I will cease to revert or remove or criticize, or ask others to revert or remove your edits. Whatever and whomoever got there first stays, no matter how much I may dislike it, whenever I can identify an edit as having been created by you.
  • I will remove all reference to past incidents from my user page.

Optionally,

  • I offer to be a mentor, sensei, and big brother for life, and offer to help you on math or writing homework (4 hour lifetime limit, negotiable). Don't ask me for Chinese lessons.
  • Give me a list of pictures of cars or toys you want, I will try to find up to 3 of them.
  • I will send you 5 random used Hot Wheels cars or Johnny Lighting cars, some retired mint in package, or choice of 5 from 10 random cars I don't want any more.

Oi oi Karrmann. Noticed you had worked on this article, thought you'd want to know it is currently up for deletion. It's a bit of a losing battle convincing some folk that it is worth saving at the moment. Peace out, Drett 23:16, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Machine

Cease fire in effect my young man. I won't oppose putting it somewhere else, but this is no way an AMC ad, it's a $35.00 copyrighted print. --matador300 23:17, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

it is an ad, and the website is selling reprints of it Karrmann 00:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
You are also reverting and edit of mine. Put it elsewhere, and you will be complying with the cease fire. --matador300 01:12, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
We shouldn't be needing a cease fire. We all should just try to contribute to this encylopedia without getting all into all these conflicts and stuff. I read your I have a Dream, and it is exactly the opposite of what Wikipedia is. I don't think Wikipedia is for you. Karrmann 01:28, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
BTW, a free picture beats a promotional painting of a car. Don't make me offer you that Johnny Lightning model, though I do have to get rid of it to make space. --matador300 00:35, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Taurus Picture G1

OK, you put this in. I have rear too and ovoid generation rear-ass view if you want it You have two more wishes.

--matador300 00:31, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Do you want a contour picture? Very common around here--matador300 00:32, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I will use the Taurus pic, as it is about time that someone made a good pic of a 1st gen. A Contour image is not needed, as the one up for deletion has been replaced. Also, the rear images are not needed, as WP automobiles says that all images must be front 3/4 view. Thank you though! Karrmann 00:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

There are currently two duplicate front images of the ovoid car. The rear view clearly show the grotesque oval back window. Replace the redundant picture with the one I'm going to put up.--matador300 01:00, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
there you go --matador300 01:02, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

your move of John Madden

If you did not notice Talk:John Madden (football)#Requested move, the proposed move was rejected. Therefore, I have to revert your move of John Madden to John Madden (Disambiguation). If you wish to move it back, please make another post on WP:RM. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 01:50, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Calm down. He's blocked. No need to rub salt in the wound; and no need to remove his comments. Let his words speak for themselves. --Mmx1 16:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Jodie Sweetin

Please review the current version of WP:BIO with regard to statements regarding living persons. As the template on the article talk page points out, "Specifically, unsourced or poorly sourced negative material about living persons should not be posted to this article or its talk page(s). Such material must be removed without hesitation. The three-revert rule does not apply to such removals." If you want the deleted material returned to the article WP:BIO now requires that you provide reliable published sources. Thank you. Honda CRX

Hi Karmann,

Could you explain why you put stats and expert tags on the Honda CRX page?

While there is a good deal of statistics, I don't believe it is excessive for a car article. There is also a good deal of non statistical information at the beginning of the article.

Perhaps you could comment on the discussion page rather than just slapping tags up.

Thanks, M

While the Tarus artice is longer and more detailed, it contains far more stats than the CRX article (eg there is a large amount of hp and torque specs) . I do admit CRX needs a bit of cleanup, but I don't think the statistical content is vastly different to any other car article.

I don't see your point - there are more stats in the Taurus artice, but not as a bulleted list. I could combine the stats into a table so they take up less space, yet still have the same information, or I could write it in paragraph form without adding value to the article. Like I said, the article could do with a bit of a clean up, but I don't see the statistical informaiton as being excessive.

Plymouth Breese is a Cult Car?!?!

You tagged the Plymouth Breeze as a Category:Cult Cars!! This is one of the most boring cars on the planet! Where is the cult following? Where are the huge rallys of Breeze owners? What of all the fanatical Breeze customizers? Surely this is a mistake. SteveBaker 12:31, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Somehow, this does not surprise me at all.... --matador300 21:08, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
It's not just the breeze itself, I tagged all the cloud cars with the category, aas the cloud cars have a cult following. somebody removed the category from the Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Cirrus.
I think pretty much any car will have a cult following of some sort, so I suggest you only use the category for cars that have a cult following large enough (i.e. Ford Mustang, Mitsubishi Eclipse) to justify the category. References don't hurt either, of course. --ApolloBoy 15:01, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't describe the following that the 'cloud cars' have as a cult. Just about every car has an owners club - but do they have huge rallys with thousands of cars showing up? Do club members get together regularly and drive their cars around in great convoys? Are the cars customised - sometimes bizarrely? Did they make movies specifically about the car? Do large numbers of people restore old ones? If the answers to any of these things is "No" then I would definitely say it's not a cult thing...and even if the answer is "Yes" - I'd be really cautious about the difference between "Popular", "Loved" and "Cultish". People have to practically worship the car - be blind to it's faults - perhaps even love it because of it's faults. They have to devote their every spare moment to doing something to, with or about the car. I'm a self-confessed classic Mini cultist - and the level of fanaticism my car engenders amongst cult members could certainly be described as 'cultish' - but I've never even heard of someone who thought of the Breeze as anything other than a way to get from A to B. It seems about as far away from being a cult car as I could possibly imagine! SteveBaker 16:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I think a fair rule is that only cars that have been called a cult car, even if by Jeremy Clarkson, should qualify for inclusion as cult cars. That is, it must be backed up by a citation from some source other than the editor or another WP article. I have spoken. --matador300 21:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to nominate the AMC Matador. The article is much larger than the Plymouth Belvedere, there's a coupe on Hemmings that's asking $100,000, and a search on ADAM-12 and Matador turns up about a half-jillion hits. Try that with a Breeze. --matador300 21:24, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
