Dahmane Dahmani is an electrical engineer and inventor, established in the United States of America since 1970 - the date of his departure from his motherland Algeria / North Africa to further his university studies. He has had a successful career in Silicon Valley, CA, USA, where he worked for technology and computer companies such as intel corporation. While at intel, Dahmane together with a few of his team members were behind several inventions and patents some of which are as follows:
- Numbered list item on May 21, 1996 Fast address latch with automatic address incrementing were granted patent #5519872 which addressed fast addressing latch with automatic address incrementing. The invention allowed a latching mechanism for a PCI bus in a computer system to capture an address that is transmitted on a multiplexed address/data channel and preserve it for a full PCI bus cycle. The capturing of the address was released within the PCI specifications which stipulate that the address can only be available for PCI address time length.
- Numbered list item on July 16, 1996 Dahmane Dahmani together with Stephen T. Rowland were granted by the patent office patent #5537664. The invention allowed a decrementer in a computer system to begin count down from the time value loaded, and when the decrementer reaches a terminal count, a ready signal was generated. The ready signal enables the cycle generation logic to generate a successive bus cycle for the same I/O peripheral.
- Numbered list item On August 11, 1998 Dahmane Dahmani with his team members; Jeffrey L. Rabe, Dave Smyth, Sathymurthi Sadhasivan, Stephen T. Rowland, an James S. Coke, and Mitchell W. Dale were granted patent #5794070. The invention allowed for fast direct memory access (DMA) on an industry standard architecture.
- Numbered list item on August 29, 2000 Dahmane Dahmani and his team mates: Jasmin Ajavnovic, Kenneth Chris Holland, and Narendra Khandekar were granted Patent #6112307. The invention allowed a synchronizing circuit in a computer system to translate signals in a slow clock domain into a fast clock domain. The frequency of the slow clock is a submultiple of the fast clock frequency.
