Edit with references

Hi noted your recent edits to the page kalaripayattu.

kalaripayattu

Hi,

It is sad that you are removing my edits to kalaripayattu so blatantly. Kalaripayattu has a philosophy ,Soul of kalaripayattu - for becoming a Yogi, it must be emphasised in the first paragraph itself.

I would like to ask you to add those things in the page

Thank you Othayoth Shankaran — Preceding unsigned comment added by Othayoth shankaran (talkcontribs) 14:51, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

I am not fully removing any of your edits. If you read through the edit history, I have taken many of your points and inserted them in more appropriate places in the article. I’m thinking of adding a Religious Significance section in the article when I have some time, and in that section, I will include all the information you have posted. The article is set up in a relatively organized way, and I do not want to break that by putting random points in random places. Do not worry though, I will add the information you posted later on, it will not be removed completely :) Also, if you can provide some sources for your information, I can add that in as well to make it even more effective :) Kalariwarrior (talk) 15:05, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Ok.

Please add those things - Poothara ,Ganapathy Thara , Guruthara ,Gulikkan,Ashtadikpalakas,Siva,Siva bootha ganas,Bhairava,Kalari bhagavathy,Khaloorika bhagavathy etc..in a seperate section. The word meaing kalari is given as 'battle field in wikipedia,it iswrong - real meaning is that it is formed with first three letters of sree vidya mantra , also same like the word Kaloorika . That's why tulunadan kalari's were called as Khaloorika kalaris.

These are the kalari sangalpas, must be added in kalaripayattu wiki as many those who are seeking information on kalari first relays on wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Othayoth shankaran (talkcontribs) 10:26, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

I’ll be happy to add all that :)

I think a great idea would be for you to type out what you know about these topics, and send them to me here. I’ll reformat it and add it to the Wikipedia article and credit you for it. That way, you can contribute to the article in a constructive, organized way.

Plus, it would be great to have someone of your experience giving us your view on our ancient traditions. I fully agree with you. We must work together on this to ensure that Kalari is presented properly to the world :) Kalariwarrior (talk) 16:43, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

Indic script

Information icon - Please do not add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Kalaripayattu, as this contravenes WP:NOINDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 10:21, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Very well, but please ensure that a similar policy is followed in all pages related to Indian martial arts. I do not see this policy in place with the pages of Gatka, Varma Kalai, etc. These pages (amongst others) contain Indic script, but haven’t been removed. May 2020

Hi kalariwarrior,

Can you add Tacholi othenan on the infobox of Kalarippayattu page adjascent to unniyarcha. SrambikkalMallu (talk) 10:51, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

I do not mind adding Thacholi Othenan, but the issue is that he does not have a Wikipedia page for himself. Unniyarcha, Aromal Chekavar, and Parasurama all have their own pages that are linked to the info box. If you can make a page for Thacholi Othenan, I would be very happy to add his name to the list. However, without a page of his own, he cannot be added to it. Kalariwarrior (talk) 15:52, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

hi, Thankyou for your reply. There is a page for Thacholi othenan but it was redirected to vadakkan pattukal as of continous vandalism in the article and unwanted caste claims, Aromal chekavar page also was redirected at that time, please check for redirection. In my point of view if you can then please add Tacholi othenan or remove aromal chekavar also from infobox and keep unniyarcha alone.ThanksSrambikkalMallu (talk) 07:03, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Madhya Kerala Style

Hi

Have somme arguments related to madhya kerala style , i can see that from the history of the page , you are making a nice contribution to the page.

So before making an arbitrary edit i thought of discussing with you and lets together agree up on things that are going to be added or removed .

I would like to pint here that

-> There is no such thing as Madhya Kerala, we cannot find those in ancient scripts or in history

-> They even the promoters of madhya kerala like alex chacko , are saying that the name is creaed for promoting this by conducting competitions , the real name is kalam chavittu , as you might have seen from many facebook posts and comments.

-> Kalam chavittu was introduced by attar bapu , a native of ponani malapuram who travelled to tamil nadu and even to sri lanka , these kalam chavittu is exactly same as angam pore of sri lanka , despite some minor changes

-> Kalam chavittu cannot be considered as a authenthic kalari and it is fro ponani and kondotty taluks of malapuram , which not under madhya kerala , the name itself is wrong .

-> introducing a new art from srilanka and mixing with some techniques of northern or southern doesn't make an authentic ancient style of kalaripayattu.

-> Kerala Kalaripayattu association did not recognized this for the competition citing it is not kalaripayattu

These are the points i would like to put forward.

I would like to point you that there exists many other authentic forms in akalripayattu which is not written down anywhere , so difficult give references .

Kadathanadan Kadhina Yoga is one such.

You cannot find any source other than a youtube video.

So as a authentic page like wikipedia , where millions of people are visiting daily, it is better that we keep only unambiguous and authentic orginal ancient stlyes in page , so that it would help the tourists and other martial arts lovers to pick up the real things easily.

I will post the same thing in kalaripayattu talk page also

Thank You

A Kalari lover. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kalari Poothara (talkcontribs) 11:47, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your response! I am well aware that Madhya Kalari is not one of the original forms of Kalaripayattu. This is why the article refers to Madhya Kalari as a newer style. It also refers to the fact that the very existence of Madhya Kalari as a style is debatable, with many stating that it does not exist at all. While I myself do not fully see Madhya Kalari as a truly authentic style, I do believe that it is worth mentioning on the page. The page is not solely meant to convey the ancient forms of Kalaripayattu, but also its practice and forms in the modern age. Kalaripayattu is not an extinct martial art. Despite the best efforts of the British, Keralites have kept our martial art alive, and as a result, like any living martial art in the world, Kalaripayattu is growing, expanding and evolving in its own ways. I believe it is also wise to include the controversy of Madhya Kalaripayattu so that people know the nature of the debate behind Madhya Kalari and that it might be better to learn the more traditional styles. I do not want someone to look at Madhya Kalari and not know what it is, or worse, I do not want them to think that it is an authentic style because no one ever told them otherwise. If you can provide some decent sources, I’d be happy to add more information to the article about Madhya Kalari and why it is so controversial. Thanks for reaching out! Please help out

Please help me out @ User talk:Anarchyte Outlander07@talk 17:52, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

I’ll help out. Kalariwarrior (talk) 18:02, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

I’ve put in my view on the matter on the talk page. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help. Thank you for getting involved in this. I wish there weren’t so many disruptive editors on here. This one appears to be a refined POV pusher, as you stated. Kalariwarrior (talk) 18:59, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

It appears that our disruptive little editor has accused us of being the same person on Suneye1’s talk page. It looks like he’s angry that his unsourced, POV edits are being reverted and questioned. See Anarchyte’s talk page for details. Kalariwarrior (talk) 00:51, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi there, don't forget to sign your comments in the talk pages. I've signed your recent comments at User Talk:Anarchyte using Template:Unsigned for now. Regards, SUN EYE 1 03:56, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder. Signatures have been placed. Let’s hope Anarchyte takes care of the disruptive editor. I didn’t realize that he was messing with the Silambam and Adimurai pages as well. Kalariwarrior (talk) 04:08, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Kalariwarrior, Welcome , the IP range has also edited Kurinjimala Sanctuary to push its POV on Silambam. I'am planning to take this to WP:ANI. SUN EYE 1 04:14, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
That wouldn’t be a bad idea, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I’m sure Outlander07 would be happy to assist too, especially since the IP in question has also accused him of abusing his pending changes abilities.
The integrity of information on pages regarding our martial arts in India shouldn’t be compromised by such people, especially those who make baseless, irrational accusations solely because the article and its sources do not agree with his regionalistic POV and edits. Plus, he’s accused us of everything from promoting casteism and religious fanaticism all the way to both of us being the same person.
Just let me and Outlander07 know if there is anything we can do to help. I’m personally fairly new to Wikipedia (only been here for a year) and this is by far the most serious dispute I’ve had, so I might need some guidance on how I can help if you take this to WP:ANI.Kalariwarrior (talk) 04:40, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Also Outlander07, please let me and Suneye1 know if you decide to push the matter in any way. It’s best if we all work together on this, since we’re all dealing with the same headache. Kalariwarrior (talk) 04:45, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Let's move on with WP:ANI.I don’t have much time to reply to messages these days and I apologize for being late. ThanksOutlander07@talk 16:56, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Apologies for the late reply. I agree with Outlander07. It’s best to let them handle this. Suneye1, is there anything we need to add to your post in WP:ANI? The post has been there for a few days, and so far, no action has been taken. If we need to add any info to help get this disruptive editor taken care of, please let us know. I know that he’s already redone his edits on the Kalaripayattu page a few days ago, and I’m waiting on official word for WP:ANI before reverting or moving forward with any other edits on the page.

Welcome to The Wikipedia Adventure!

December 2020

Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. You have been warned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2409:4073:4D9E:B0CD:C9CE:CB00:2223:E28 (talk) 19:05, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

In what way have I “attacked” you? I did not attack you, call you names or make any other offensive or rude remarks towards you. It appears that you are angry that people are questioning your reverts. In fact, most of your edits are phrased in a seemingly condescending manner, along with rude, sarcastic comments against me on talk pages such like this:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Outlander07?markasread=205933083&markasreadwiki=enwiki#Issues_on_the_Kalaripayattu_Page
You have no right to enforce any kind of block or ban, nor do you have the authority to do so. You are free to make your threats, but I’m afraid you will be disappointed to hear that I am not at all fazed by them.
Outlander07 , Suneye1, it appears that this editor from before is now making threats of blocking and banning because I disagreed with his methods of editing and reasons for doing so, and appears to perceive them as an “attack.” Anarchyte, and Novem Linguae, I would request that you look at this as well. This is the same person from before who was edit warring and engaging in refined POV pushing on pages such as Kalaripayattu, and Silambam. Anyone here is free to look through my contributions and/or edit history to see that I have not made any insulting remarks towards this person, and will take full responsibility if I have done so. In fact, as you can see on the discussion on Outlander07’s talk page, this anonymous editor has made rude, sarcastic comments against me. I did not respond in kind, but in my humble opinion, it is worth noting.
My account is not anonymous, nor do I IP hop or have a history of bans, block evasion, etc like the user above has on one of his IPs. I am under the impression that such threats and warnings of being blocked can not be given by random, anonymous IPs.
He also appears to have delivered similar threats to people here:
Some IPs he hops through are IP ranges such as:
IP range 2409:4073:0:0:0:0:0:0/34, which has a list of bans from disruptive editing, and block evasion.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/2409:4073:0:0:0:0:0:0/34
IP range 137.97.67.74:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/137.97.67.74
And IP range 157.46.141.57
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/157.46.141.57
Using the IP range of 2409:4073:0:0:0:0:0:0/34, he appears to have delivered similar threats and warnings to other users who have challenged his edits or reverts, as can be seen here:
On Kalari Poothara’s talk page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Kalari_Poothara#December_2020
And here, on IP range 42.107.195.164’s talk page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:42.107.195.164#December_2020
Is this really something that should be allowed on this site? That too from an anonymous user with multiple bans for disruptive editing, block evasion and now this as well?
He repeatedly cites Wikipedia policies and rules, yet is clearly in violation of many of the policies he cites. This is honestly beginning to seem more and more like WP:GAMING.
(Full record of disruptive editing blocks, partial blocks and block evasion can be see here): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=User%3A2409%3A4073%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0%2F34&type=block Kalariwarrior (talk) 20:10, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

An IP editor filed the report. I am informing you as that person should have done. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:06, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

Cullen, I saw that earlier. This editor is a rather controversial one who has had issues with numerous other editors on the site in editing disputes. He appears to have a long standing issue with me and has been chasing me around on Wikipedia for a month or so now. He appears to have gone through my entire contribution history to bring up mistakes I made several months ago when I was quite new to editing and unfamiliar with Wikipedia policies, and then blown them out of proportion in order to justify his report against me. Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I appreciate it. Kalariwarrior (talk) 23:11, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
