ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kalaripayatu page vandalism

[edit]

pls refrain from repeatedly adding such imaginary content.and for your information "Chekavas don't teach the nairs fencing" the caste situation prevalent at that time in kerala didnt allow such close contacts .Nairs were taught by fencing masters belonging to their own caste .Chekavars did have a great heritage of practicing kalari despite being avarnas and many of them were great fighters but they acted more as similar to gladiators who fought with each other in an ankam or a duel for solving disputes of "desavazhi"(nair chieftain ruling over a desam). The kalari training to avarna castes were imparted by castes called "kalari panicker" and "kaniyar"which are different from thiyya caste.Kalaripayatu was practiced by even muslims, syrian Christians and ezhavas.Ezhavas of south kerala who are same caste as thiyyas also practiced kalaripayatu specially in the odanad kingdom and many were great fighters like aratupuzha velayudha panicker. But majority of them were cultivators similar to the thiyyas of malabar. These avarna fighters had their own kalaris and majority of times were taught by"kalari panicker" or " kaniyan" caste.Pls refrain from starting such edit wars and promote wikipedia as free space to spread knowledge not propaganda. I am not adding content. I would suggest you refrain from removing sourced content whose information falls under WP:VERIFY. The matters you are discussing were already extensively discussed on the talk page of the Kalaripayattu page a while back. Feel free to look at the logs to find it.
All of the information you claim to be, “imaginary,” is backed up with a sourced citation.
If you have other research or sources that can be cited to provide evidence of your claims, then please provide them here, or better yet, provide them on the talk page. Wikipedia does not accept unsourced claims, which falls under Wikipedia policy WP:NOR. Please provide sources which meet the qualifications of WP:VERIFY. Much work has been done to combat casteism, politically oriented censorship and religious extremism on the page to ensure that the page stays under Wikipedia policy WP:NPOV, including changes to language under WP:MOS.
No one is promoting or deriding anyone on the page, and great effort has been taken to keep it that way. If you have such an impression, then I’m afraid that’s an issue with your perception of things, not the page.
Also, you and another editor were the ones edit warring. Feel free to look up what edit warring is under WP:EDITWARRING. I did not violate WP:3RR.
Please take any further issues to the talk page. Kalariwarrior (talk) 20:04, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
