Good luck for the FAC plans. Surely better than many overrated Ganesan's films (at least for me). Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:54, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

- Yes, there is no rush, and I have listed it at the GOCE. But Vensatry, you do not mind being listed as co-nominator, do you? In fact, it was you who made it GA. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:36, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Something useful from today's Eenadu: Impressed with Nayakan, Rajinikanth wanted Mani Ratnam to write a similar script for him which never materialised. Its similarities with Pa. Ranjith's script for Kabali made him accept to star in it. The source link is here, its title is "రజినీ మేనియా... ఇంతింత కాదయా!" which loosely translates to "Rajini's mania... is unrestrained!". Rest is your call. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:38, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
- Done: added to both Nayakan and Kabali. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:12, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, but one link is still missing, though it only needs a partial inclusion of this statement if possible. BTW, Rajinikanth opting for such an intense film (if true) at this stage of his career is really appreciable. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:15, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

List of most expensive Indian films
On your message:
"We must not include the budgets of upcoming films as their budgets are certain to escalate, especially if it's a film directed by Shankar or Rajamouli."
That is why the budget column on that page has (Est.} in brackets. It is the estimated budget. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajan51 (talk • contribs) 13:32, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
- Rajan51, the "estimates" are guesses made by the Indian media about what may be the budget of the film and not definitive figures. If the budget changes on a regular basis and we have to update the list at the same pace, it will become unstable. That is why we should not add budgets of upcoming films. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:38, 27 July 2016 (UTC)
That is only 'if' the budget changes. Even then it would not cause much unstabiliy. Even international films' budget lists include upcoming films.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajan51 (talk • contribs) 13:32, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Missamma
Do you think the article is better now? Taking cue from Siva and Eega, i prefer to keep it simple and concise. 50+ references and 50K+ content are enough for a possible FAC requirement IMHO. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:58, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
- IMHO, it is at its best possible. For now, you may list it at the GOCE, followed by a PR before the FAC. And do source every cast member to comply with WP:CASTLIST. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:07, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
If you possess Pillai's Madras Studios currently, can you e-mail the images related to Pathala Bhairavi and Missamma? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:05, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

what is your problem man, i have provided right information about Sholay, Don't re-edit it Eraserhead1990 (talk) 07:58, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Eraserhead1990, I don't care how right or wrong it is. You added content without sources, and that cannot be tolerated per WP:V. Kailash29792 (talk) 08:00, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
And who am i talking to, are you the owner of Wikipedia? Eraserhead1990 (talk) 15:40, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Personal attacks???? is there anything wrong with your eyes? I am just asking, you are telling me to do this and do that, who are you, Wiki's owner, Related to G.P.Sippy and Co,relative of any of the Sholay Cast members, No really who are you? Eraserhead1990 (talk) 15:48, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- No, I am not close to any person from the crew of Sholay. And the way you asked me if I am Wiki's owner no doubt looked like sarcasm. Hence I considered it an attack. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:31, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Anjal Petti 520.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Anjal Petti 520.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 15:41, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Rajinism
This might interest you. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 02:01, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- As a general reader and a Rajini fan it may interest me. But I doubt if the book can be used for professional research, considering the book's unconventional style, seemingly inexperienced crew and the fact that its editor doesn't seem to have a degree in film history (all of which may lead to the book looking amateur and improperly researched). Besides, how could a professionally researched book be completed in just four months? Kailash29792 (talk) 11:44, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- I said it might interest you. I never said that you can consider it for professional use. Well, did you watch Kabali? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:19, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, and my reaction was: "Veruppu Da!" (if you know what it means). Kailash29792 (talk) 12:21, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
- I really don't understand what that means. Despite being politically sincere and feminist at places, the filmmaking was rather shoddy. Rajinikanth has been a stunner though. Not as fierce as Kali, but his Kabali is surely something i would remember for its subtlety and realism. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:55, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Manichitrathazhu
The poster that you replaced on File:Manichitrathazhu film poster.jpg is a 200 days completion poster of the film. I think the previous will be good for it.--U+20B3 (talk) 15:50, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- What do you mean? The previous pic was a DVD cover, and as per Template:Infobox film, posters should ideally be used. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:52, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- So which caption should be written 200 days poster or Theatrical poster? --U+20B3 (talk) 16:02, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- I think the former caption may be used as it is more accurate, but the poster still refers to the fact that the film completed 200 days in its theatrical release. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:11, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
- Kailash, thanks for taking interest in finding a proper poster for Manichitrathazhu. But the image you uploaded was a paper ad for the film. I doubt whether it can be called a poster, also the image emphasizes on 200 and the only two characters are not properly visible. I think the DVD cover identifies the film better. Charles Turing (talk) 12:23, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe it's an old habit of mine to refer to paper ads as posters; I guess it is largely bcos theatre posters are reproduced in papers just as they originally were. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:37, 11 August 2016 (UTC)

B. Rajasekar
Respected sir, My article on B. Rajasekar Cinematographer has been rejected for insufficient references. Please I need your help to improve the article for publishing. Thank you, Manommayan (Manommayan (talk) 04:06, 5 August 2016 (UTC))
- Manommayan, I'll give you a suggestion: please provide me with the sources required (read User:Cyphoidbomb/ICTF FAQ to know the types of Indian sources that can be used) and I will try to develop the article. Since you appear to be close to the subject personally but not professionally, I suggest you to refrain from showing conflict of interest. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:05, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the help sir. I will try to get more reliable source material and forward them to you sir. Thank you. (Manommayan (talk) 08:45, 5 August 2016 (UTC))
Respected sir, I have included some reliable sources regarding B. Rajasekar in the draft. I couldn't find exclusive articles on the person himself. Actually I am professionally related to him. I work as Co director in Tamil and Telugu films, both are currently working in same project. Trying to help him as he has worked with some big names in South Indian film industry but still don't have a wiki page on him. I assure you that I don't have any Conflict of Interest sir. Please help me in developing and reviewing this article. Thanking you. Manommayan (Manommayan (talk) 11:44, 7 August 2016 (UTC))
Respected sir, Please help in reviewing and publishing this article. Thank you, Manommayan (Manommayan (talk) 13:25, 17 August 2016 (UTC))
- I checked all the sources used in the draft. They all mention Mr. Rajasekhar only in passing, but I need sources that focus on him; so far I have not found any. But I can give you a suggestion: he must be interviewed by major media sources, and links to those interviews may be passed to me. I can add info from the same interviews. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:42, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you sir, may be we should wait for his new movies to get released so that he may get interviewed by media. Thanks once again. (Manommayan (talk) 03:16, 18 August 2016 (UTC))
Enthiran worldwide gross
Your statement: Please give me your source which states that Enthiran grossed ₹ 2.89 billion worldwide.
This is my reference. [1]
Also I received a message from Wikipedia: We don't use primary sources like producers, directors, actors, distributors for controversial data like film financials, because these people have every reason to inflate or deflate the numbers to suit their personal gain. We only care what secondary sources that have arrived at these values independently have to say.
It is there on my talk page. So I suggest you change the box office report of Enthiran as Sun Pictures could have given wrong data.
- Sorry, this IB Times source cannot be used either. It gets its information from Andhra Box Office (a non-RS) and therefore falls under WP:FRUIT. Kailash29792 (talk) 09:05, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
Sun Pictures' report is a non-RS. They need not provide correct info. They could manipulate it to gain profit.

Kalidas (film)
Hello:
The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Kalidas (film) has been completed. This article was extremely well written and required very little work on my part. I was glad to see that the article's on-line citations had been archived. Most authors can't seem to be bothered doing this, which is a shame since "dead" links inevitably occur.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Chakradhari (1948 film)
I named it as Chakradhari (Tamil Film) because there is a Hindi film (Chakradhari) by the same name. There is also a Telugu film by the same name released in 1948.(See Gora Kumbhar. Therefore, a person looking for the Tamil film may find it easy if the title has the words Tamil Film. Also, I have now enhanced the text by removing spelling and grammar errors. Therefore, please consider removing the tag. Thank you. --Uksharma3 (talk) 15:17, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Anbe Vaa
If you are still thinking of taking it to FA, might I suggest we substitute Danny's references wth the ones from Saravanan (AVM 60 Cinema). I found out from Thamizhan1994 (who is still busy with his college work and will return around late-November) that some of Danny's info on Uyarndha Manidhan were lifted from Saravanan's book. Maybe, it might be the same in Anbe Vaa's case too. Might I say you do Danny while I can extract some more from Saavi's account for Ananda Vikatan as it might contain some more which aren't added yet. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 09:34, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- Although Anbe Vaa is no longer planned to be the TFA on MGR's coming birthday, given the limited time, I still plan to make it FA asap. Only one Danny source remains to be replaced, but I can't find a replacement. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:13, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Again, for your recent efforts for finding and uploading original posters for old Indian films, and theatrical release posters for recent films (as recommended by Template:Infobox film). PS: The poster you uploaded for Rudraveena is an authentic one and not a VHS cover; however, it is a poster hinting the third week run (something like this) and not the theatrical release poster. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:00, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks Pavan. I know the current poster is an authentic one; I was only unsure of the previous picture. Besides, have you been saving the posters from Telugucineblitz? Because I feel there is a high chance the site, after years of collecting various posters, may abruptly die without being archived; I'm sure you remember what happened with APTalkies. Speedy deletion declined: Nenjathai Killadhe
Hello Kailash29792. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Nenjathai Killadhe, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: the title of the film you're asking to be moved is "killathe", so ths isn't a non-controversial request, please use WP:RM. Thank you. —SpacemanSpiff 12:09, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Seeking remedy in this matter
Hi, Kailash. I was notified about the article, obviously bcz of your speedy-del request on my ancient edit, and SpSp's decline above. My guess is that as the last preceding editor, my concurrence with your plan might be the most efficient way to further your goal.
In the absence of any specific recollection, it seems probable i assumed that, among the three overlapping pairs that can be formed involving the three works (each is a filmed or television work, my impression is)
- the pair with the same Roman-alphabet spelling probably are clearly either modeled one on the other, or modeled after a common earlier work
- the one with D or d in its Roman-alphabet spelling, where the other have t or T in the same place in their Roman-alphabet spelling probably tells a story that is similar in several elements to at least one of the other two
- the effect of the H or h following D or d, and following T or t, is analogous or parallel: for instance, th in English think and bath sound alike, but the th in they and bathe would (if English spelling were more sensible) logically be spelled with dh, i.e.
dheyandbadhe(which i write here with "strikethru" style to emphasis that, illogically, most Americans would assume they were not just misspelled, but nonsense).
I don't mean to say that at least one of those three things has to be false for me to support your request, but only that so far i think they'd present the simplest case, with the greatest likelihood of my joining "your side". If it's more complicated, let's still discuss it.

Iwas about to save further thots for your consideration, but got an edit conflict. Are you about to reply, and should i therefore wait with my additions?
--Jerzy•t 14:05, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- Jerzy, I still believe Nenjathai Killathe 1980 is more notable than Nenjathai Killadhe 2008 which has no reliable sources, while serials in Tamil language are rarely ever notable (being made with monetary intentions rather than everlasting glory; only their number of episodes are everlasting). This is similar to Rocky not being titled "Rocky (film)" or "Rocky (1976 film)". That is why I thought the 1980 film should simply be titled Nenjathai Killathe because the 2008 film and the same-titled TV serial are hardly as notable. Request for new page
I would request you to create a new page for the film series with the movies Enthiran and its successor 2.0 which will be released next year. Since you are more experienced in Wikipedia, I am asking you. I can assist you if you want. Please consider this. --- Rajan51 (talk) 12:02, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- I believe we can wait until a third film is announced. Creating articles on franchises with less than three films released is usually premature. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:05, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- But I see that there are several film series with two films. I don't think it is wrong. --- Rajan51 (talk) 14:32, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- Like what? The Amazing Spider-Man series was cancelled after only two films (hence an article on the series was rejected by Wiki). I'm not opposing the creation of an Enthiran series article; I'm just saying let's hold it off till the second film is released, for there is no rush. Was Manmadhan inspired by ''Moodu Pani?PhysicsScientist (talk) 03:23, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- It seems they are indeed alike in the sense that the hero is a misogynistic psychopath. But the storyline in Manmadhan seems original otherwise; you can't accuse school students wearing the same uniform of copying each other. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:36, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Manmadhan was inspired by Sigappu Rojakkal. —Vensatry (talk) 08:15, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Missamma
Kailash, i have given up on this. I do not actually see any possible happiness working on this anymore. It will remain as one of my best-ever GAs (as comprehensive as Siva may be). Do me a small favour. Now that Missiyamma has its own article, please do shift the appropriate content from the Telugu article to the Tamil article, barring Themes as it holds good here too in its entirety. So, now that this is done, i can peacefully focus on my studies and other Wiki-related commitments (mainly Eega). Cheers! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:09, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
But, one last thing. The fact that Missamma was a bilingual should not be removed from the Telugu version's article and should be added to the Tamil version's article as well. We have to adhere to what its makers, the authors, and other reliable sources have said. This is something to be followed very strictly. Please let the concerned know this and ask them not to ignore it. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:14, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
Many articles have been renamed (moved) and may have several redirects. What is wrong with it?PhysicsScientist (talk) 03:12, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- The duplicate article is more developed than the original article, so I am trying to merge them both somehow. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:20, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. But the name of the original sounds better. It is better to move the content from the duplicate to the original article.PhysicsScientist (talk) 03:32, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Manam Pola Mangalyam
I inserted the "inuse" tag and was adding contents to the article. After finishing, when I tried to save, a warnig came up that someone else was editing in the meantime and my additional content was not saved. I lost what I had written. When I checked the history, I found that you have edited the introduction part. I wonder why you edited while the inuse notification was there. Now I have to spend another one hour or so to retype the remaining content. It's too much for me. Just leaving - Uksharma3 (talk) 10:45, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm terribly sorry sir! I usually make my edits in a notepad file before saving, knowing such would happen. Sandboxes exist for the same reason. Kailash29792 (talk) 11:03, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Earlier I use to write the whole article in Notepad and paste it on to Wiki page. But after learning about the "inuse" tag, I insert the tag and write the article on the wiki page itself as it is easy to do the formatting while writing.
- During the past few weeks I was writing some articles due to enthusiasm. But now I find it tiring and expensive. I work from home and I pay for the Internet. Therefore, I have decided to stop this venture. I have given the link to the Hindu article. If possible, you can complete the article referring to it. Bye. - Uksharma3 (talk) 02:25, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
File rename requests
Regarding File:Tutak Tutak Tutiya poster.jpg and File:AngoorDVDCover.jpg (for example), I see that you're overriding the previous contents of the file with a new upload, and requesting a rename. You can consider uploading a brand new file rather than overriding an existing one, right? — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 17:37, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Is the concern Template:Di-orphaned fair use, which results in deletion? — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 17:41, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Indeed. Very. much. Having to upload a separate file every time is also time consuming, so it is best to overwrite the original. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:50, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Source to correct the nationality
Forbes confirms him as an Indian

- I'm not sure if it is referring to him as an Indian ethnically, or legally. As far as I know, his passport shows he is Canadian, and that is the basis most authorities use to judge a person's nationality. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:50, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- It says Canadian actor, not Canadian passport holder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.39.57.213 (talk) 04:56, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Thuppakki Box Office Clarifications
Kailash29792 since you have knowledge About Tamil Cinema and Tamil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYvrIIK_x9k - watch this Video, Where The mr.thannu the Producer of Thuppakki Movie Reveals the Total Box office of Thuppakki in a Award Ceremony, that is the Total amount is ₹187 crore (US$22 million).I dont know what Extra Source Needed to Confirm this. Amvicky
- Amvicky, you need a third-party source which reports the box office information taking info not from the producer, but other sources. Something like Box Office India, whose "about us" page reads, "The figures on the website are not taken from producers or distributors of the respective films but independent estimates from our sources and then cross checked through cinema collections". What happened to Kannada?
Hi Kailash, what happened to the Kannada information here? How is this any different from Baahubali or 2.0? Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:20, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- The article was split into two: Mudinja Ivana Pudi (Tamil) and Kotigobba 2 (Kannada). Since I have no intention on developing either article for a potential GA, I made no attempt to merge them, and decided that each article stand on its own, without bordering on WP:COATRACK.
