Kivu

Hi Kahuzi, Thanks for your edits in Great Lakes location articles. It's good to see some details being fleshed out. FYI, your addition to Kivu prompted me to turn it into a proper article from a disambiguation page. Keep up the good work! - BanyanTree 16:51, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi Kahuzi, I've noted with pleasure that you've restarted editing Chad-related articles. Since you seem to have a special interest for the country, maybe you would like to know that a WikiProject Chad has been created with the goal to boost the number and quality of articles related to Chad. You may be interested in becoming a member of the project: up to now we're three, with me working mainly on the history of Chad and KI working especially on current events. --Aldux 12:06, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

About English in Rwanda

For reference

Kahuzi 14:01, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Regards the GNNT, are you sure of this [1]? While it may have been under the Interior Ministry in the 1970s, it seems that at present it depends from the Defence Ministry: I found this statement, "The ANT, Gendarmerie, and GNNT report to the Ministry of Defense" [2]. And thanks again for all your work on Chad, it's really fantastic! --Aldux 00:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the input: Chad is truly a complicated country. I'll leave the statement as it stands, as I suspect the only way to find a clean awnser would be to phone Déby (and even that may not work ;-)). Bye,--Aldux 11:23, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

To Do

  • Military of Chad Do intro & history. Check if this name is OK. Would "Defence and security forces of Chad" be better? What terminology is used for other African countries?
  • "Bardai" redirects to BET prefecture. The Bardai Mountain range in Gujarat, India is a region from which many Gujarati people trace their ancestry. Anyone want to research/disambig?
I'll put it on my "To Do" list but it'll be a while before I can sort it out. Kahuzi 21:40, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Partly solved; it redirects to Bardai, Chad now.--Aldux 21:48, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Holiday

I'll be away until mid August, visiting Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Kahuzi 07:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Please feel free to evaluate the Libya article which has become a 'Featured Article Candidate' and write you support or opposition on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. Hopefully Libya will become only the second African country to be featured on Wikipedia. Thanks --User:Jaw101ie 12:30, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Help desk: Images

Most likely the working image is on the Wikimedia Commons while the others are locally stored on the French Wikipedia. Upload them to the commons if they're under a free license (don't forget to copy all the information on the image information page and leave a note it's from the French Wikipedia. Otherwise, you need to upload the images locally using the "Upload file" in the menu on the left of your screen.- Mgm|(talk) 12:18, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello! As you're a Wikipedian interested in African topics, I'm writing to notify you that the Maraba Coffee article is now a 'Featured Article Candidate'. Please feel free to evaluate the article and write your support or opposition at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. Thanks — SteveRwanda 15:08, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Kahuzi. Just written up the History for the constituency. Any chance you could go over it sometime and pick out any obvious errors, grammar problems etc. Cheers Galloglass 18:10, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Chad's history section

Hi Kahuzi, could you give a look at the History section of Chad; I've made a major rewriting of the section, and would like to hear your opinion (brutal criticism is especially appreciated ). BTW, I've been nagging user:Golbez to make some maps of Chad (see my talk page); he's gently accepted, and believes that even if there are few references for the map it can probably be done! Ciao,--Aldux 13:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Kahuzi, fantastic work!--Aldux 17:31, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Definite article in DRC

Can I ask your help with something? I noticed you are a member of WikiProject Central Africa. Should articles on DRC include the word "The" in their title? I'm thinking of National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and others which have recently been moved. Personally I think yes they should, as this is what english speakers normally say (despite the general ban on articles in wikipedia). Could you let me know what you think by commenting at Talk:Democratic Republic of the Congo. Many thanks!! AndrewRT(Talk) 21:20, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Chad

Hi Kahuzi, what do you think of the work I'm trying to do with the Chad article? I've just done the history section and part of the politics one, but hopefully I'll end making a fully referenced article at last.--Aldux 14:52, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Onatra.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Onatra.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:27, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Kahuzi! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  • Hi Kahuzi and thanks for the note on my talkpage. The article on Dinham is so interesting, great to have it in WP! In terms of adding more detail to it, I think it's worth reflecting on whether the additional information is about Dinham and her life specifically or whether it's a bit tangential e.g. about female convicts in general, or about other people in her life/family etc. That kind of detail could be better placed in a general article on a social/historical topic, or in the biography of the other person.
