Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open

[edit]

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting doesn't commence until 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the coord team. Cheers, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 02:38, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Heinz Guderian

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Heinz Guderian you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Hi, I’m new to Wikipedia and I hope you can help me publish my first article. You have rejected this article - East Ventures - and I have updated it again based on your note. I just want to know whether the draft will automatically go to the review pool or not? Or if you think there are things that I still have to improve, please tell me so I can edit the draft again.

I have asked the question to the WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk, but I haven’t received any responses. I hope you can guide me on it.

Big thanks --Jrkrist (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:58, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jrkrist: I would describe this as a non-viable draft, the company being non-notable. Please see WP:NCORP. --K.e.coffman (talk) 16:16, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've been working on a draft that you reviewed last month (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Plastiq). I added new references and changed the information in the sections a bit to sound more neutral. Do you think these references are unreliable or that the company still needs more coverage? could you point out what part is weak or fall under advertisement like? I hope you can spare some of your time and would appreciate a lot if you do. JamesRodir (talk) 18:00, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@K.e.coffman: Okay, I have read WP:NCORP and I found that the sources I added are independent of the subject and the company has more than 1 million customers which is a lot. Take for example this one https://www.businessinsider.com/is-plastiq-app-worth-it-safe-2018-6 or https://www.pymnts.com/news/b2b-payments/2018/plastiq-commercial-cards-electronic/ aren't these reliable sources? I need a little more insight because I still do not get why wouldn't Plastiq be notable enough for the encyclopedia. In fact, its a company with many clients, press, great partnerships, and there are more than 70 results of Plastiq in google news, this has to count for something. JamesRodir (talk) 22:03, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesRodir: I see that you've received feedback at the Helpdesk, which was the same as mine: [1]. I do not plan to re-review the draft -- sorry. --K.e.coffman (talk) 01:48, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@K.e.coffman: Hello, following advice from editors on the help desk I've made substantive changes to the draft:Plastiq, after reading throughWikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources I've added references considered reliable and independent from wsj, the daily dot, VentureBeat and others. I would say that the draft more solid, has neutral tone and its overall better. Would you re-review please? JamesRodir (talk) 15:11, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Myth of the clean Wehrmacht

[edit]

On 14 September 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Myth of the clean Wehrmacht, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the myth of the clean Wehrmacht persisted in Germany until the 1990s, when it was eroded by the Wehrmacht Exhibition? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Myth of the clean Wehrmacht. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Myth of the clean Wehrmacht), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Draft:Maths Time Joy

[edit]

Hi there. I submitted this draft – Draft:Maths Time Joy – but you rejected it because not 'notable enough', specifying it fails WP:MUSICBIO. However, WP:MUSICBIO shows the criteria for musicians and ensembles, meaning artists more generally I suppose. Maths Time Joy has made a name for himself mainly as a producer and songwriter, having worked with artists such as Mahalia Burkmar, Bebe Rexha and Romans (musician), as well as having been nominated for a Grammy for his work on Gallant's album Ology. So, really, the criteria for his page are shown in WP:COMPOSER. And I personally believe he meets those criteria. Also, Maths Time Joy was awarded the PRS Foundation Writer-Producer Fund a few months ago, with PRS for Music being the leading music royalty collection society in the UK. So if it's good enough for them, why would it not be for Wikipedia, may I suggest? Especially considering there's plenty of other people - including artists, producers, musicians, songwriters, etc. - with fewer achievements, who have pages on Wikipedia. Would you mind re-reviewing please? Many thanks, Davideventi (talk) 13:40, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, can you please help with this? Thanks. --Davideventi (talk) 11:10, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I wanted to reach out regarding the Nestor Lakoba article. It's been at FAC for over a month now, and has not had any reviews, so is in danger of being archived. As you looked at it for the GA nomination, I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing so again, if only to keep it active for now. If not that's also totally fair, but I thought I'd at least ask. Kaiser matias (talk) 17:17, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kaiser matias: thanks for the reminder; I've commented on the FAC page. --K.e.coffman (talk) 01:06, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
