Inappropriate Links
[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Colostomy. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit]Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jubisa (talk) 20:15, 4 April 2010 (UTC)What I do not understand is who decides what is spamming and what not?! The website I posted (MeetAnOstoMate.com) is a very well respected website among the ostomy community with abundance of information about the condition. We have well over 3000 members and also ET nurses who participate in the forum discussion and answer members' question. The forum is free for everyone. I think that adding a link to a website of this kind will be only helpful to the Wikipedia readers.
