Hello Josve05a. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sophia Lamar, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Source is under a compatible license. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:39, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Con Nooga

Hard to have sources when the only sources are the source? Make since? I could tag links such as: http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/16966037/geeks-invade-connooga-runs-through-sunday-at-choo-choo http://www.geekcal.com/Gaming-Cons/Con-Nooga-2014-7760.html http://www.jacehallshow.com/news/pop-culture/20121219/connooga-helping-kids-con/ There are no books or other "viable sources". In this case what can you do? Thanks This is regarding the CON NOOGA submission — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.247.24.140 (talk) 13:50, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Josve05a,

This is in reference to a contribution being submitted for speedy deletion from wikipedia.

As a Director of ATAA www.ataa.com.au/ company, I was wondering of the procedure involved in getting my content published on Wikipedia.

Kind regards,

Philip — Preceding unsigned comment added by AustralianTAA (talkcontribs) 23:07, 2 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello, my name is Jonatan.

Here at Wikipedia we have rules and guidlines every article has to follow.

Hi, you declined my AFC submission, saying that it already exists. However, Ulbricht denies being DPR, as I noted both in the article, in a note in the article, and on the previous decline of the same reason. Was that the only issue with the article? Thanks, Matty.007 20:22, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

svwiki checkwiki

You sir, have a brand new checkwiki run of svwiki that contains everything from the dump file. I found one problem that was related to the WMFLabs setup and did a work around. Not sure about others, but will have to wait while you have fun fixing allllll the errors. Bgwhite (talk) 08:40, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Yeay! "I'm so happy, I'm soo Glad that you did this. Thank you. And thank you means merci!" (C) -(tJosve05a (c) 08:45, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

@Bgwhite: on error #27 it is detecting &#8211. That character is a endash and should be placed in #50. -(tJosve05a (c) 08:50, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Egads, it took you 5 minutes to find something to complain about. Now where is that turn off svwiki button. :)
No, it is in the correct error. – is the decimal version of endash. Error #27 finds decimal versions and asks you to convert it. Error #50 finds the html code for endash and emdash and asks you to convert it. Bgwhite (talk) 09:03, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
Haha. Noooo. Why is it so dark here? Who turn off the light? Wrong button? :)
Oh, ok. I had not seen that before (not looked at the bottom of the list before)...-(tJosve05a (c) 09:05, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
@Bgwhite:, can you help me change the name of #16 from 'Mall med Unicode kontrolltecken' to 'Artikel med Unicode-kontrolltecken' (Mall=Template, Artikel=Article). I don't know how. -(tJosve05a (c) 10:46, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
You need to edit the Translation page. Feel free to change any of the descriptions as my Swedish vocabulary begins and ends with the Swedish Chef. Any changes made to the file will updated to the web pages at 0z everyday. While you are at it, anything that ends with "script", such as error_001_prio_script= or error_001_head_script= can be deleted. I'm no longer using the script parameters. Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit if you feel they have been resolved.

Hello, Josve05a. I submitted the abandoned article above and you declined it because it didn't meet WP:MINREF. The reviewing instructions state "Avoid declining an article because it correctly uses general references to support some or all of the material. The content and sourcing policies require inline citations for only four specific types of material, most commonly: direct quotations and contentious material (whether negative, positive, or neutral) about living persons." Since the article isn't about a living person and it has no quotations, I am presuming that you feel that there is something controversial in it, since that's the only other thing for which inline citations are required. Can you please point out specifically which information is the problem? Thank you. —Anne Delong (talk) 02:50, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Anne Delong. On WP:MINREF it states "Any statement that has been challenged (e.g., by being removed, questioned on the talk page, or tagged with [citation needed], or any similar tag)" and "Any statement that you believe is likely to be challenged."
One thing about the article for instance is giving a positive confirmation in more than 80% of the case. That statment could be challenged and a cn-tag could be placed there.
I might be wrong by declining the sumission, and you are free to revert me/resubmit if you thing I made a mistake. (tJosve05a (c) 02:58, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I can see how someone might want a citation to look up that data. Well, I don't know anything about spectroscopy, so I think my next step should be to try Wikiproject Geology. Maybe someone there will take the article in hand. I wouldn't revert a review unless it was a really obvious error. I have postponed several hundred from the G13 deletion queue, so I don't have time to perfect them, just get them to a minimum standard where hopefully someone with an interest will take them forward. One suggestion: if you feel that a particular piece of information in an article needs a citation, why not add the tag? It will save the submitter having to ask. He or she might put in all kinds of citations, but not to the statement that you were concerned about. Anyway, thanks for your reply. —Anne Delong (talk) 03:25, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: Posting Andrew O'Brien

Hello,

Thank you for reviewing the entry Andrew O'Brien. I appreciate your thoroughness but am confused by the conclusion that the citations do not meet requirements. The supporting citations regarding Andrew O'Brien's history are news media articles in major press outlining his previous employment history and a US Department of State CLEARED and VALIDATED biography. The biography has been validated through an investigation process conducted by US Federal officials.

Can you clarify what citations are considered more appropriate?

Thanks, LMK240Lmk240 (talk) 21:58, 7 January 2014 (UTC) Lmk240 (talk) 21:58, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Lmk240, I'm happy to see that you want to contribute to Wikipedia.
I declined the submission because every BLP (biography abut living person) has to have footnotes. This submission did have footnotes, but they were invincible. I corrected the articl a little bit an I have submitted it for review again. -(tJosve05a (c) 01:51, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Why delete content that asks for verification of an outlandish claim? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.170.150.38 (talk) 20:43, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

75.170.150.38, "speking"-text inside an article is not advised. You can post {{Citation needed|reason=your explanation here|date=January 2014}} instead. (tJosve05a (c) 20:47, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
The offending material has been removed because I can find no source for the claim. I found the diff and it comes from an editor with 1 contribution and ends there. So either it was original research or it comes from a source that I cannot find anywhere that can be cited. ViriiK (talk) 22:06, 9 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Sir

Hi, you recently declined my new article submission "Lansing Trade Group, LLC" citing that the content doesn't meet the minimum standards. I've read the minimum standards and the referencing for beginners and I think I understand the guidelines. Would it be possible for you to indicate where in my submission I need to cite information further? I am happy to abide by the rules by either citing the reference(s) or editing them. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5ifthCitizen (talkcontribs) 17:40, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

5ifthCitizen, After a specific value there should be footnotes. After e.g. a 700,000 bushel facility with rail capabilities. there could be a footnote stating whaere you got that number from. The same thing applies for the Andersons, Inc. (Nasqaq: ANDE) invested $60 million into LTG, to make sure that all information and specifics like that is covered. If you need any more help, don't hessitate to ask again or join to live chat with many more experienced editors! -(tJosve05a (c) 17:45, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Please do me a favour, fix the Siphiwe Tshabalala article. I tried to undo Ramanoda's revision on Jan 5 but it can only be done manually and my phone can only accomodate 5000 characters. Even if I tried it would truncate the article. Ramanoda is a vandal and is a clear Orlando Pirates fan. Your RfA

Hi Josve05a! I'm TheGeneralUser, nice to meet you :) I just came here to let you know that although you have done good some good amount of work here on Wikipedia, the concerns raised at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Josve05a by all the users are worth taking note of. Most importantly it has been about your communication skills as Administrator's need to effectively communicate with other editors regarding any actions done by them and any concerns which can be questioned by other users. I know you must be having great hopes about improving Wikipedia, but I'm sorry to say that presently at this stage it looks like the RfA is nowhere near to pass as there is virtually no support. So what I strongly suggest you is that you withdraw your RfA and it's simple, just strike out your nomination statement and below that write down your custom rationale stating that you are withdrawing. I hope you don't take this personally and continue your good work here. Regards. ~TheGeneralUser (talk) 00:08, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi! Just dropping by to let you know that your RFA has been closed and archived per your request. I'll add to TheGeneralUser's comments above by saying that the outcome is a judgement of your current suitability for adminship, not your current value to the project (which, looking at the work you do, is very high). Continue to hone your editing skills and keep up the good work. Tyrol5 [Talk] 00:55, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I saw that you thanked me for my comments on your RfA so I'm glad they were taken in the spirit in which they were intended. I mentioned that it might help you to write some articles in your user space and have someone proofread them before moving them to article space. I'd be willing to do that (not that I'm an exceptional proofreader but I'd be willing to give it a shot) if you leave a message on my talk page. Chuy1530 (talk) 03:09, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello, Josve05a! I would also be willing to help you with creating articles in your sandbox, if you want such help. I'm a pretty good proofreader, and I can also explain about things like categories and references if you find them to be a problem. I hope you do create some articles, either by translating existing material from another Wiki, or by writing a new article about something you enjoy. And I hope you will apply for RfA again when you have some content creating experience and better English skills (BTW your English is already very good). And meanwhile keep up the good work you are already doing! --MelanieN (talk) 22:22, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I know what it feels to have an unsuccessful RFA as I only got through at the second attempt myself. One of the ironies about RFA is that we still as a community depend on the admins who remain from 2007 and before when RFA was much less of a big deal, and teenagers and vandalfighters were being appointed. If you'd passed this time you'd probably have become the youngest current admin, perhaps by some years. May I add to my earlier suggestion and say that it would be good to read the articles relevant to your coursework, you may find that your studies benefit and you are bound to find things that you can reference from your textbooks. Translating articles between English and Swedish is also a good way to hone your language skills. Take care and happy editing. ϢereSpielChequers 05:36, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

User:SpaceJace/Sandbox; Article: Earth Tribe L.A.

Hi Josve05a,

Thank you for reviewing my first article attempt "Earth Tribe L.A." (See header information below). if you would kindly give me some feedback on my current version I would greatly appreciate it. I addressed the 'validity' issue by contacting the director of the Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, Liz Korda Smith, who provided me with the official Los Angeles Emmy Historical record on January 10, 2014. Their database is not online yet but I can forward to you the official entry record. Do you think the article would pass submission now? Thank you. SpaceJace

Crap. I thought it was this week. Atleast I remembered. Nothing special for 16? Darn. Where I live, 16 is the traditional age when you can start dating. I was a rebel and a geek. I dated, had a girlfriend, got dumped and laughed at all before 16. Not many geeks could say that till they were 25. Bgwhite (talk) 10:08, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

About my entry on "Museum of the Princes' Islands"

Hi Josve05a,

Thank you for reviewing the article, although you rejected/deleted it because of so called "copyright issues".

On the other hand, I don't think there is a copyright issue. I've been working with the museum from its project phase as a contractor, I prepared the project, the internal design, designed and implemented the videos/animations in the museum, prepared all of the temporary exhibitions etc. I also designed the websites of the museum and continue to update them. I'm also a member of the curatorial board of the museum.

All of the photographs on the entry are taken by me. One exception is the logo, I didn't design it, but it is given to me for being used. The director, curator and other curatorial board members know that I'm preparing the Wikipedia entry and have their full consent.

You can check what I have done in the Museum of the Princes' Islands from my website (only in Turkish) here: http://www.harikalarkutusu.com/

Here is the Turkish version of the Wikipedia article, which is already being published, as a reference: https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adalar_M%C3%BCzesi

Please advise me how I can show you that there is no copyright violation...

By the way Abandashake, it's still a copyright violation on Wikipedia as long the page is elsewhere on the internet with a non-compatable license on it, no matter who wrote the page. Please, help me restore the article - I'll change the text I've copied from myself and I still want to use the rest of the text which was originally written. I've contacted RHaworth, but no response from him yet, and I'm afraid the time is going to pass and the article will be removed irrevocably. Hi there. With this edit, you changed Tomás to Tomas. In all of the scarce sources, his name appears to have been spelt with a diacritic. I can't remove the tag since the article is a copyright-violatin. You will have to wait for an aministrator to review and delete the tag. Hikulus_07

Hi, Josve05a, here is Hikulus_07 I edited the article for creation: Silvius von Kessel once again making all the references/citations/footnotes. In the edit version you can find all the different informations/links but on the reading page there is always the same link, the first link, each time again. Why? I don´t know my mistake. Could you help me? Thanks, Hikulus_07 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hikulus 07 (talkcontribs) 19:27, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Hikulus_07, It was due to that you had placed down 10 {{reflist}} on the article. You should only place one, under a 'references'-section. I have now fixed the problem for you. -(tJosve05a (c) 19:32, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much, Josve05a, for your kind help concerning the footnotes/links. Is the Article for creation Silvius von Kessel now ok or do you need more links and footnotes? - I looked up your google-link, searching "Silvius von Kessel" and there are plenty of websites and pics. Difficult to choose from that. Is it necessary to include even more of that, or a pic? I looked up another en.wikipedia site which is comparable (organist of Cologne Cathedral, also professor) and it is even less information and less footnotes. Have a look at: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Winfried_B%C3%B6nig Thank you for your opinion. Best wishes, Hikulus 07 (talk) 22:12, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Hikulus 07,
No, that seems to be enought sources/footnotes. I suggest that you resubmit the article by pressing the blue button. (tJosve05a (c) 22:17, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello Josve05a. Thanks for your review of (Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ira Ward) I am new to writing wiki articles and need a bit of help. Can you explain exactly what I need to do to meet your requirements? I would appreciate it. I know a lot of unsung heroes that never got there rightful credit in the music business and I want to help them. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.189.164.223 (talkcontribs) 21:33, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello! First of you need to source reliable sources, that does not invlude facebook, linkedIn, mySpace, YouTube, the persons/companies own website.
When you have done that you need to add footnotes to show where you found a specific fact/information. For information on how to do this go to this link. If you need help, just pop in to the [webchat.freenode.net/?nick=Teahouse_Guest..&channels=wikipedia-en-help&prompt=1&uio=d4 Live IRC-help-chat]. -(tJosve05a (c) 21:40, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again! This is harder than I thought it would be :=) I think I have corrected everything, please check it for me. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.180.176.239 (talkcontribs) 21:51, 19 January 2014

Hello again 3.180.176.239! I can see that you have placed references, but you have apparently placed them at the wrong place. The footnotes are to ensure that everything in the article is sourced. Pleas look at this example: EXAMPLE. (tJosve05a (c) 01:11, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

I think I get it... Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.129.82.57 (talk) 19:46, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again! I think I fixed it :) Please check it for me. Thanks!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.180.198.22 (talk) 20:04, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

I'm not by a computer right now (writing this using an iPhone) but the footnotes looks good for me. Could you include a reference for the dicography (does not need footnotes for every song/album. -(tJosve05a (c) 20:15, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again and Happy Birthday! It looks better but I couldn't link all of the discog artist to one citation/footnote. Is it possible? Please take a look for me! Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.129.83.90 (talk) 11:50, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

If you have a link where all of information can be found that's great. If you just have a few on one link and a few on another that's even better, since then you are using multiple sources. Where did you fins the information to the discography? (tJosve05a (c) 13:37, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again! I found it on the artist page of Discogs. Maybe if I re-write the biography so that I can link the footnotes it might work. Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.129.83.90 (talk) 14:59, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again! Now I've fixed it... Thanks for taking time and sharing your knowledge!! 90.129.83.90 (talk) 20:30, 23 January 2014 (UTC) January 23, 2014 21:31 90.129.83.90 (talk) 20:27, 23 January 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.129.83.90 (talk) 20:04, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

HI again! I think it will be better if I re-write the bio, for instance, what if I put The Gap Band, Robert "Goodie" Whitfield[1] would this work better? Thanks! 83.180.196.107 (talk) 06:45, 24 January 2014 (UTC) January 24, 2014 7:47am

Hello,
I would suggest that you do what you looks best. If it looks good a reviewer will accept the submission. If not, maybe the reviewer will "fix"/rewrite a little. (tJosve05a (c) 08:08, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again! Right you are... I cleaned it up a bit and I hope that everything is ok... Thanks for the help man and stay cool! 83.189.165.122 (talk) 10:28, 24 January 2014 (UTC) January 24, 2014 11:28am

What's wrong exactly?

Dear Sir,

Why not show me how to fix the Alex Martinez article? I've never been technical and I'm lucky to have gotten this far.

All the links are real, there's even one to the Library of Congress.

This guy deserves a bio blurb on Wiki.

Can you help?

Thanks

Bill

Hello Graffitinucular, an easy example that I have made can be found here. For more "direct" help with your article, I would suggest going to the live help chat: #wikipedia-en-help connect (click the connect'-button). -(tJosve05a (c) 15:41, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
hello. Ok, my prose needs improvement and I have to get the code right. For what it's worth, I do appreciate that it's not so easy to create an article here. I may have started off as riff-raff but now I know better... A question about Citations. What if there's no online link to articles published in newspapers and magazines? The best example is Graphotism Magazine, the Graffiti Bible since 1991, it went under almost 2 years ago. Would it suffice to simply cite the article's date info? There is a scan of the book review they did on the artist I'm trying to list and it lives here; http://publishing.yudu.com/Freedom/Abu1b/ArtistPortfolioAlexa/resources/40.htm is this sort of link acceptable on Wiki?

Then there are magazine articles such as Penthouse (Greek Version), which has no online link but is also scanned at this page; http://publishing.yudu.com/Freedom/Abu1b/ArtistPortfolioAlexa/resources/36.htm Any wisdom passed my way is greatly appreciated.

Just press play. (It is recomended to play this video in fullscreen and with sounds on!)
Hello Graffitinucular it does not need to be online. You can cite published books, published journals...almost everything that is published, making sure that another user can dubble-check the source. It does not have to be aesy to dubble check it, but it should be possible. For information please look at the how-to video on the right. (tJosve05a (c) 18:37, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Thanks {{u| Josve05a I watched the video but will have to re watch it before I feel comfy enough to release a new article version. The Greek press is what I'm most confused about now. Alex is a big fish in a small pond down there but they don't archive much. Hopefully, I'll be able to piece it all together this weekend. By the by, have an excellent weekend yourself ;-)
Graffitinucular (talk) 19:05, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Graffitinucular, Have a great weekend you too. (tJosve05a (c) 19:11, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Josve. Did some work this weekend and found two more instances of Alex's images getting nicked. This time by Getty Images Inc. The whole object of the exercise with the wiki article is to stop these jerks pretending he doesn't exist. One picture I loaded on Commons shows ad hoardings from a property company selling apartments and right in the middle is an image from Alex's mural. If you get some time, please do have a look in. I'm sure there are mistakes aplenty but this needs to be done if only for the sake of fair play.

Cheers Graffitinucular (talk) 09:48, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi again, the article is ready except perhaps the links. I believe I got them right but... Also, I removed the images. After all, I'm only a fan of the guy's work. Does this place my article at the end of the queue? There are over 1200 waiting.

Thanks Graffitinucular (talk) 08:14, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

There is no "queue". Some users reviews submissions at random, some will review them oldest first and ssome the the newest first. I for on e just pick some at random. (tJosve05a (c) 10:02, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Constanza (Poetry form)

Hi, will removing the examples from the constanza page help with submission? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nacron (talkcontribs) 02:58, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

You might want to cite a few more sources to make sure that the article shows notability. You might also want to read Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions to make sure the article passes all criterions. (tJosve05a (c) 08:17, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

The International Quarter

Hi Jose, I uploaded The International Quarter page on behalf of Lend Lease which you reviewed and advised it was not suitable for uploading. I am keen to find out how I can better the page. Are you able to advise on what was wrong, or upload the page on my behalf?

For the article https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Afsheen_Saadat/sandbox, I have removed the links that were stacked for published articles. How should I present those links; as external links, footnotes or reference? Or should I not place them at all? Afsheen Saadat (talk) 05:41, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

You should include them as footnotes. To understand how to do that, please watch this video and read WP:REFEX. (tJosve05a (c) 09:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi Again, I have updated the links and placed them as Footnotes i.e.https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Afsheen_Saadat/sandbox . Could you please let me know if they are fine? Also let me know if there is anything else that needs to be done before I resubmit the article. Thanks.Afsheen Saadat (talk) 12:52, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

For me, the footnotes looks good, but I am not "so" involved with the article creation as much as some other users here on WIkipedia. If you need help with what can be improved, please ask at the Teahouse or in the live-help-chat #wikipedia-en-help connect (just press connect). (tJosve05a (c) 13:30, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll resubmit the article now. I'll keep improving the article on an on going basis. Afsheen Saadat (talk) 04:54, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

What do I do if there has been a copyright issue on my article but the information was written originally by the company I represent? It looks as though the article on Ambassador Stuart Holliday took information from two websites when in fact those two sites got their information from the Meridan Internation Center's page on the Ambassador (http://www.meridian.org/meridian/our-leadership/item/69-stuart-holliday) which was written by us and therefore owned by us. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roberly2 (talkcontribs) 14:47, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Will your company place a notice on the original website releasing that content into the public domain. Bear in mind, that is basically the effect of posting something on Wikipedia. bd2412 T 16:02, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
