[edit]

I've said it there, but I'm telling you here: no live updates per WP:LIVESCORES. Once again, I ask you to respect that. If you continue to live update, I might have to report you. So please wait for the match to be over. Thanks Gsfelipe94 (talk) 10:02, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Josh2221 (talk) 06:56, 27 March 2015 (UTC) It is a valid page, but people keep vandalising it - These people really don't like me. If i could make it protected so only admins and me could edit it that would be great if someone could show me how to do it[reply]

I've deleted everything. If you want to start it again, I am prepared to protect it. Create it first and let me know.Deb (talk) 08:53, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
...but first, read WP:NOTWEBHOST and Wikipedia is not about YOU. Wikipedia is not a social-networking site. Your user page should be mainly about you as a Wikipedia contributor and your work here. You can find out more about Wikipedia at the WP:Welcome page and the WP:Introduction; also, please read Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. JohnCD (talk) 10:56, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I could restore the very first version (the one with the flags), which was fine. Is that what you'd like? Deb (talk) 16:23, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great!

A tag has been placed on Only in Hindsight requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or an organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Speedy deletion of "Inside The Sea (band)"

[edit]

Inside The Sea (band), a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a band or other musical group, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for musical groups in particular..

You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. David.moreno72 (talk) 12:35, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Inside The Sea (band) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Inside The Sea (band) during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Legacypac (talk) 06:48, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Josh - welcome to Wikipedia. Sorry you are having trouble. There are guidelines for content and it is hard to find topics that are valid WP:N topics that don't already exist. Many active editors rarely create new pages. I suggest working on improving existing articles for a while to get a feel for what is appropriate before trying to create new pages. Check out the To Do lists here [1] for a good start. Work on topics you find interesting. It can take time to get the hang of this place. Good luck and I hope to see you editing. Legacypac (talk) 10:10, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it is very easy to find notable topics that do not have articles, but a lot of editors are enthusiasts not true encyclopedists. If an editor is interested in music, then they should know that every documented hit song is notable. There are vast numbers of well documented hit songs from the 1920s through 1950s that have no articles, and many of those songs are still performed today. Every state and provincial legislator is presumed notable. There are vast numbers of legislators over centuries who lack articles, and the libraries of state and provincial capitals are packed full of information in reliable sources. Every Olympic athlete is presumed notable and vast Olympic archives are readily available. Yet large numbers of Olympic athletes lack biographies. And so on. What is true is that notable 21st century pop culture topics without articles are rare. But this is not a pop culture encyclopedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:00, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As a fellow West Aussie, who appreciates local bands & what they've been able to achieve, I'd been more than happy to work with you in improve your article on Inside the Sea. There was a time when I wrote an article of Drapht, which other editors felt should be deleted because there was no way a hip hop artist from Perth was ever going to be notable. So don't get discouraged - let them know that there really is something in the water over here. Dan arndt (talk) 08:44, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
