AfD nomination of Derek Roddy
[edit]An editor has nominated Derek Roddy, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Derek Roddy and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:59, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
April 2008
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Derek Roddy. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for deleting the notice. I considered the discussion closed, as the article was extended, and there hasn't been any response for a while. I don't see any further reason for deleting this article, though it was a bit rash deleting the notice. Derek Roddy, though not well-known among a wide audience (but hey, Brutal Death Metal in general isn't either, nor is e.g. drummer Tim Yeung), is worthy of a Wikipedia page. I probably didn´t do it the right way, for which I am sorry. I´m still learning! ;-) Joost de Kleine (talk) 22:20, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think it caused any huge problems. :) As I mentioned at the AfD, I suspected it was done with good intentions. PROD notices anyone can remove; speedy deletion notices anyone but the creator can remove; AfD notices are only removed by the person who closes the debate, who is typically an uninvolved administrator. The AfD is closed now, so it's all good. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
