Updated DYK query On February 15, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Calton weavers, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

I apologize greatly Jomillsjo for how you were treated initially on wikipedia back in 2010. Unfortunately new page patrollers don't always check the work and can put people off editing. I want you to see that once you have the basic understanding there's very little chance that your work will be deleted. In fact once you've been going a while they're automatically approved. Just look at the fantastic work your husband does on wikipedia. Nobody would ever dream of deleting his work. If you're anywhere near as resourceful and competent as he is you could be of massive value to this site. You seem to have expert knowledge in weaving and the crafts, content which is grossly underdeveloped on here. Is there any chance you could give this another go? It's five years later now. I'd be willing to assist you in some starter articles as I'm sure Andy would be. Saw the picture on your user page and reminded me of the ethnic image in Culture of the Cook Islands we got up to Good article status a while back. Can you let me know what I can do to get you to see the site in a different light?♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:15, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I, too, Jomillsjo, feel badly that your work on Wikipedia was treated so carelessly. Should you decide to return, and I hope you do, you can count on me to be an ally; just drop me a note. Cheers, --Rosiestep (talk) 00:41, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your offer of assistance. I hope to be able to do some more articles in the near future and would appreciate help. Will be in touch. Jomillsjo (talk) 12:07, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Great to hear from you Jomillsjo. Please let us know when you start. To begin with I think creating an article in User:Jomillsjo/Sandbox would be a good idea for a bit until you get used to the referencing and categorization, we can help with that. What would really be good here too of course would be to get Calton weavers up to WP:GA status and listed among our good articles. That would really avenge the situation!! @Aymatth2: Do you think there is enough material available to further expand? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:54, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Dr. Blofeld: I don't know if there is much more available online on this subject, but there are plenty of others. A user sandbox is a good idea for experimenting with how to use {{sfn}}, infoboxes etc. before the new page patrollers start biting. :~) Aymatth2 (talk) 12:06, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
