Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Pickerington High School North, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Meters (talk) 23:02, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That entire article has been tagged as needing sources for years. That's not an excuse to add yet more unsourced material. Meters (talk)

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Pickerington, Ohio, you may be blocked from editing. Gab4gab (talk) 16:04, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, then take out the whole education section if you think I'm disruptive. I added that section of the page. Jokerpower71 (talk) 16:27, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also can you give me and example of my edits that have been disruptive and then tell me why they are disruptive and not helpful. Jokerpower71 (talk) 17:08, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jokerpower71, It is considered disruptive to repeatedly fail to follow the policies or guidelines of Wikipedia after you have been warned. Each of your warnings regarding adding unsourced material have included links to a guideline for citing reliable sources. In your third warning there is a link to the guideline concerning disruptive editing. One of the examples given there is "Cannot satisfy Wikipedia:Verifiability; fails to cite sources, cites unencyclopedic sources, misrepresents reliable sources, or manufactures original research." I appreciate that you are working to improve articles. While you do that it is helpful to follow the various guidelines and policies of Wikipedia. I see that you have now cited a source in the Pickerington, Ohio article. Thanks for that. If you have other questions let me know. You can also ask for help at the Teahouse. Control copyright icon Hello Jokerpower71! Your additions to Pickerington Local School District have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Otherwise the article looks good. You can re-add the history material if you re-write it using your own words. Thank you. Gab4gab (talk) 14:02, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from eastlandfairfield.com/50YearsALegacyofExcellence.aspx and eastlandfairfield.com/DistrictProfile.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Why did you delete the whole page? Jokerpower71 (talk) 15:06, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. An article you recently created, Pickerington Local School District, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Currently, neither of your links works. You need to have sourcing for every piece of information in the article. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Onel5969 TT me 11:45, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All the sources I added were either from a government website or the schools district website. Due to it being an education page it is less reliable to have a third party source than to have the official website or the government website. Thank you, Jokerpower71 (talk) 14:39, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notability is evaluated based on the sources that exist, not the current sources cited in an article. It is possible the school district is not notable but school district articles are rarely deleted at WP:AFD. Gab4gab (talk) 16:58, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've moved this back to drafts, because it only cites the organisation's own website, which is nowhere near enough to establish notability per WP:GNG. No organisation is exempt from this requirement, including educational ones. Please provide multiple reliable and independent secondary source with significant coverage of the subject, before moving this into the mainspace again, otherwise it is likely to end up at AfD. Thank you, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:25, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
