Information icon Hello, Jodine - RSL Australia. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Returned and Services League of Australia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 00:00, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yoshi, thanks for this information. I have tried to update outdated information about RSL Australia on Wikipedia.
Importantly, the information about King Charles being the patron is incorrect and must be removed.

Hello, I'm Yoshi24517. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Returned and Services League of Australia, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 00:05, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You may be blocked from editing without further warning if you make any further edits without responding to the inquiry you received regarding undisclosed paid editing. — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 00:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary, as you did at Returned and Services League of Australia. Please do not remove sourced statements related to the group's past antisemitism, especially without mentioning it in the edit description. ChaotıċEnby(t · c) 00:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

I was blocked for making edits for RSL Australia without stating that I am a communications contractor who is paid to edit the page. I have now disclosed on my Talk page that I am paid by RSL Australia. RSL Australia have noticed some inaccurate and outdated information on their Wikipedia page. Any updates made from now on will always be referenced on their website and in their latest annual report. I will not remove any sourced statements. I have read the paid editing disclose requirements. Jodine - RSL Australia (talk) 01:16, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This request isn't a bad start, but it's not quite there yet. You in most cases shouldn't be directly editing the article about your organization, there is a particular process to use to propose edits. The main purpose of a Wikipedia article is to summarize what independent reliable sources say about the topic- not what it says about itself. Primary sources can be used for certain things, but not everything. Do you also understand that negative information about the organization cannot just be removed? Articles summarize the good and the bad as long as it appears in independent reliable sources, is accurately summarized, and is not defamatory. If something is inaccurate, we want to know, but it needs to be done the right way. 331dot (talk) 10:16, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
