CSD A1

Hey, JayJay! I reviewed and deleted Richard Joseph Stephan, which you had nominated for speedy deletion under A1 and A7. The A7 criterion was enough for me, but I don't think A1 (no context) is what you meant, since there clearly was enough context to know that the guy was non-notable. A3 (no content) probably would've been better, since that includes articles that are entirely external links, as this one was. Anyway, no big deal, just thought I'd drop you a line. Thanks! Question regarding notability

Thanks for reviewing my submission! I know that the subject is notable, since they have coverage in over 10 secondary, verifiable sources (web, print, and radio.) I guess I didn't include enough info on that though. This page on their website lists a bunch of media coverage they have had - what should I include to get the article approved as notable enough? http://bonitaspirits.com/about-2/mediapress/ Oh, the page is http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Bonita_Platinum - it is my first article! Thanks. Djwoodhouse76 (talk) 02:50, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for taking the time to contact me. You second they have 10 sources yet I only count four sources, you should include as many sources as possible. I suggest taking the time to read WP:NCOMPANY. Cheers JayJayWhat did I do? 02:52, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your help! I had read that page, but I didn't want to use too many references. I guess there is no such thing! Could I ask one more favor? Could you take a look now, and tell me if that is enough? 14 references total now: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Bonita_Platinum Thank you again! I'm learning a lot. Djwoodhouse76 (talk) 03:13, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

RE:Deletion

Whoa I haven't messaged someone on wikipedia in forever. But yeah, I made that page in middle school because I was bored and I liked creating Wikipedia pages. You can delete it haha Lazylaces (Talk to me) 07:42, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

New Page for Tim and Willy

JayJay,

Thank you for taking the time to review my article. Your denial stated that YouTube is not a reliable source. If memory serves me correctly, I used YouTube 4 times:

1 - To link to an archived video of Tim Hatrrick on a local talk show discussing his career up to that point. This video provides a nice synopsis of the various stations he worked at in the 1980's. 2 - To link to an archived video of Glenn Beck appearing on The O'Reilly Factor. Part of that discussion included the commercial Glenn and Tim made with a chimpanzee. During that interview, Glenn incorrectly identified the chimp as Michael Jackson's. 3 - To link to an archived video of the commercial that was discussed on The O'Reilly Factor. Included on that page are Tim's comments that the Chimp was not Bubbles, but rather the chimp used by David Letterman. 4 - To link to the watchtimandwilly page on YouTube to corroborate the fact that their page has nearly 2.5 million views.

In each case, I am unable to find another source for the material in question. In the case of the 3 videos, these are the full length videos, as they appeared on the broadcasts in question, without any editing for content. In other words, it provides the visual record of the statement of facts I made in the article.

If there are no other sources to be found and the YouTube videos are actually archived videos of the interviews/commercial as they occurred (and, therefore, reliable) can they not then be used as sources?

Quick fail

Hi Jayjay,

You appear to have quick-failed an GA nomination here without any reference to the quickfail criteria. Could you clarify your concerns at the nomination page or at Wikipedia_talk:Good_article_nominations#Query_about_discussing_quick-failed_article? Thanks! -- Khazar2 (talk) 13:22, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

I left my opinion at the article. Feel free to ask any questions or challenge my comments. The final decision on whether to pass or fail the article will come down to you. Sorry about the delay, I completly forgot about it. AIRcorn (talk) 16:01, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Wedlock GA Reassessment

Hello Jayjay:

Sorry to hear about your frustration. I am wondering if you have the time to re-check the Wedlock (band) page. From what I can tell, the proper permissions are in place on the images, the phrasing you found awkward seems to have been removed, the quotes are gone, and a new rationale for using the "Cuts Both Ways" sound file is there- I don't know if that is fully correct, however. What are some other issues that need to be addressed on the page?Again, sorry for not coming to you privately before the whole reassessment discussion .Thanks again AnotherGenericUser (talk) 07:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

If you get a chance can you revisit this. A lot of work has gone into it recently and I think it might now meet the criteria. AIRcorn (talk) 07:42, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Hi JayJay, I just wanted to say thank you for the time you put into reviewing the Wedlock (band) main article. I intend to do more Wikipedia-related projects, and maybe we'll consult or communicate again in the future.SlowFatKid (talk) 15:31, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

I just wanted to make you aware of this discussion I started at Winter storm naming. I have no intentions of making any changes to the article myself, but was just hoping to get input from editors previously involved in the article (or recently-closed AfD) in an effort to improve the article and clarify its purpose. I will leave any changes to the consensus of other editors who decide what's best. Your participation would be welcome, regardless of your views on the issue. Thank you. 76.189.111.199 (talk) 22:21, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
