Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Mr tsk
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Mr tsk, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Thanks for your contributions to Mr Tsk. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources and it needs more sources to establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:01, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces
- Sir, please guide me as to how I should write any article so that it does not appear promotional. Am I writing right, what should I do, what should I pay more attention to so that it is the right way because whoever I am writing, be it an actor or a singer or a politician, he is removed. Sir, I request you to tell me some way how. Let it be written. Jarussingh (talk) 11:27, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there, I can assure you that I understand how it feels when you're trying to do something and it all gets deleted or removed, it can be very frustrating. But don't you think that if you're doing the right thing, nobody will delete or remove your input?
- First off and importantly, if you have a conflict of interest with the articles you're trying to create, you have to disclose it. The conflict of interest were talking about here can be either you are an employee of the person/people/organisation you're trying to write about, which means you're getting paid to create these articles or at minimum, you are writing about yourself/family member/relations, etc. Please read WP:COI because Wikipedia takes this very seriously. Read the information at WP:COIEDIT to guide you on how to disclose your COI.
- Another important you MUST consider before venturing into creating biography of living persons is the general notability guideline, this might read very strange but it is the bedrock of inclusion on Wikipedia. There are also specific notability guidelines, for example, an article about a politician MUST pass at least one criterion of all the criteria listed at WP:NPOL.
- An article about a singer must pass at least one of the criteria listed at WP:NSINGER. You can browse through several specific notability guidelines at WP:N.
- Please read all these links, understand them before considering venturing into creating articles, and importantly, if you have a COI, disclose it per WP:COIDISCLOSE.
- Hope you will find the information useful. Regards, Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces Thank you very much sir. I have understood and you must be absolutely sure sir, I am an art student, I write poetry and stories, sir, whatever actor or singer I try to write about is considered promotional. But I have understood that whenever I Sir, if I write, I will write only after taking your opinion. I am very satisfied after talking to you and your explanation sir. Jarussingh (talk) 15:29, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Vanderwaalforces
- Sir, I write only on the basis of what is there in the news article or on the website and it becomes promotional because it is a little entertaining and emotional. Jarussingh (talk) 15:35, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- I forgot to address the part that there's no need of calling me "sir", lol, I'm just an editor like you. If the article you wrote is considered promotional because it is based on the media entries the person gets, that is when the WP:OWNWORDS comes into play. You should know the words to watch when writing an encyclopaedia entry, especial the meaning of MOS:WEASELWORD, MOS:PUFFERY and MOS:EDITORIAL.
- I will also highly recommend the articles for creation process because there are many friendly editors there who will guide you, give your draft a second eye to spot issues and tell you how to fix them before helping you publish the article to mainspace, instead of writing directly on mainspace which is what you currently do.
- Feel free to always reach out and I don't mind giving your creations a second eye before publishing to mainspace, but like I said earlier, you can always use WP:AfC process.
- Regards, Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:27, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Mr Tsk. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. - Sir, I know that I am new in this field, there may be some problems in my writing but it is completely true, whatever I have written, you can Google it. Sir, he is an actor and has also acted in many films. But sir, I don't understand at all how this can be personal publicity or something else. Please tell me and guide me as to which way I should write or how to write it so that it can be correct. Jarussingh (talk) 10:55, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- As you cannot recognize when you have added promotional content, perhaps it would be best if you not write about this subject until you can edit non promotionally. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:57, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing
- Of course it is possible, but sir, I have seen and read many Wikipedia articles and then there may be something written like that which may seem promotional, so sir, should only that graph be removed or the entire article. Jarussingh (talk) 11:05, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

- My advice to you is a) to stop trying to push this Mr Tsk/tsk, as you're sailing very close to the proverbial wind and risk getting blocked, and b) read and understand WP:AUTOBIO and WP:PROMOTION. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Jarussingh. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but a page you created Draft:Mr Tsk has been deleted as meeting one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects of articles must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources which are unconnected with the subject and which provide verifiable information. Someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see WP:CORP for subjects that are groups or companies or organizations. Please see WP:ANYBIO for subjects who are people. Please see Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure is a useful tutorial.
Also, encyclopedia articles must be neutral in tone and not use language that promotes or advocates for a subject, or tries to cast the subject in a favorable light. Please see Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid here and here. Sometimes creators of promotional/advocational content are bewildered that it is considered such. If one has been trained to write such content, or if one has spent some time writing such content, one may simply be blind to non-neutral phrases or styles.
A common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc.
CV's/resumé's are by their nature promotional. Writing about oneself or any connected subject is discouraged as the connection can make objectivity difficult. Information on avoiding advocational content and common pitfalls is here and here, however be aware that these are not exhaustive.
New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk, and on IRC chat. Sometimes it is better to first gain experience by fixing and helping maintain existing articles. Wikipedia:Community portal/Opentask contains links to things that badly need doing, if you are so inclined.
