Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Jared bubb, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, James McMurdock, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 12:24, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Peter Prinsley, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. We don't add the title "Dr" to people's names on pages. See MOS:DOC for more info. Thanks. AntiDionysius (talk) 17:03, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at James McMurdock shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Czello (music) 14:06, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Leif Davis, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You must ensure that when you update the stats you also update the date, using ~~~~~. If you have any questions please ask. Telfordbuck (talk) 17:29, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Harry Kane, you may be blocked from editing. Telfordbuck (talk) 20:02, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Football infobox live update

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. Please only update statistics within the infobox of a footballer once the match the player was involved in has concluded. This is to help avoid the stats being updated again by another editor once the match has finished, and to avoid having to undo the update in the eventuality that the match is abandoned.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:07, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please see the discussion at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)/Archive_191#The_use_of_'infobox_country'_for_fictitious_states and stop adding the infobox. The Banner talk 19:53, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jared, if you restore any infobox again without a consensus on the article talk page, I am going to block you from editing. --Floquenbeam (talk) 16:47, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Floquenbeam, they should just be indeffed as NOTHERE -- see their recent vandalism spree at Ormiston Sudbury Academy. JoelleJay (talk) 17:25, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, doesn't seem like the kind of thing a useful editor would do, does it? I wouldn't say NOTHERE necessarily, but that does mean that Jared has basically used up the last of his 9 lives. Any future vandalism, edit warring, or disruption will probably result in an indef block with no further warning. Jared, you are currently a net negative, and it is not the job of other editors to clean up after you fuck around. Last warning. Floquenbeam (talk) 17:39, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
