(See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Why has my article been deleted
January 2014
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "JKL Direct Marketing", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. GILO A&E⇑ 14:09, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (it is in public interest) --JKL Direct Marketing (talk) 14:12, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. —SMALLJIM 14:12, 26 January 2014 (UTC)JKL Direct Marketing (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
What is going on I am not a troll a serious mistake has been made The blocking info says 'Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia. This is not true how is it profane or an attack
Decline reason:
At this point, it doesn't matter; your legal threat below violates Wikipedia's no legal threats policy, and unless it is unambiguously and explicitly withdrawn, you will not be allowed to edit here. --jpgordon::==( o ) 15:17, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Response
[edit]John Lang, you have clearly misunderstood the purpose of Wikipedia. It is an encyclopedia, not a place for advertising. Read the messages above carefully and you'll see why your contributions are not appropriate here. —SMALLJIM 14:29, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
This sort of ad homenim attacks are unpleasany and unwelcome. I will be pursuing getting my account back. Of course enclyopedias should contain relevbant infoomation about businesses and pormoinet businessman in the community. I recently met with several politicians.

Re...
[edit]...You, your organization, and Wikipedia is a good read. I'm sure your vast marketing knowledge will be accepted, granted you pick a username which is not a trademark and head this or that way, while postponing the impractical task of using Wikipedia as an ad board. (The big fat pink template at the top tells you how to write your username at this page, to request an account rename.) --Gryllida (talk) 14:54, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Looking for help: Helpme, Admin, et al
[edit]I have downgraded the {{helpme}} and its admin equivalent to nothing; the pink template has correct instructions, which would alert more relevant people. --Gryllida (talk) 15:01, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Since you think John Lang may be able to contribute usefully to Wikipedia, I'll reinstate his talk page access – I revoked it after his last few messages – and we'll see what happens after he, hopefully, takes the time to read up on our rules. He'll still need to make that username change request though. —SMALLJIM 15:10, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Done. John Lang, if you want to contribute to Wikipedia according to our rules, please read that large pink/orange message above and follow the instructions therein. —SMALLJIM 15:15, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
